>CH shit in the OP
These are dark times indeed
Someone said they managed to do it. Says that Xillia 2 has a screenshot mode but I'm sure he actually meant some kind of function in the PS3 menu.
I'll try that later. And places like Imgur are compatible with the PS3's web browser for easy uploading, right?
How could you hate based Compile Heart?
Yeah, I saw that it was quite problematic to get the best ending so I'm playing with it for the characters, though most of the times the game forces me to pick whatever the fuck they want anyway.
>Falcom’s new Ys game for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita is currently 30 percent complete, this week’s Dengeki PlayStation reveals.
>The game’s story is expected to take place just before Ys Seven, at some point between Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand and Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim.
>The setting is the “Goethe Sea,” an archipelago of South Gria. As such, there is a strong sense of the sea in the game’s overall image.
>New elements and systems will also be added. And characters from previous Ys games will appear, as well.
Am I the only one to have likeD KH:ReCOM the most on PS2 of the KH2 PS2 titles?
>characters from previous games
No Geis confirmed.
Dogi maybe? The games usually have two blunt characters anyway, one for fists and one for hammer. Would seem odd for the game to include two token jrpg bara characters though. Ys Seven did do that for more than half the game I guess.
Decide my game of the day. jarpig genral.
shopto.net are getting a bunch of pre-order items for Ar nosurge in Europe since we got screwed on the LE. Soundtrack, shirts and cards
while stocks last. They ship internationally and it includes the bonus DLC crap.
Ys it is! So far this one hasn't felt too amazing to me but I admit I love the music. Hoping that it picks up after this segment.
Just started Zwei!!, the dialogue in it is pretty amusing. Pipiro is great.
I dunno, I can't ever play as casters much either since enemies like to come after the player controlled character more. Unless its a slow moving boss or blah blah blah Tidal Wave.
Since it is a SEGA game, what are the chances we'll get a localization? Could XSEED or another publisher do it?
Can I get some opinions on this game? I never tried it but it looks neat.
How do you guys stand playing a game with an 80 hour main story anyway? I mean I can see 30-40 but 80?
I can really get into the world of the game.
I played a game and its direct sequel back to back, took me over 230 hours to complete them, and most of the time was spent reading dialogue.
No. The only nip games we'll get localized from sega are Sonic games and Fatlus.
I don't have time for that in addition to errything else going on in my life. I barely have time for gaming and leisure as it is.
Unless you're working 12 hour days 6 days per week or something crazy like that (in which case, fix that shit), you have time.
It's just a question of whether you're willing to allot at least few hours per day, a few days per week to Japanese.
Right now i'm possibly getting evicted and might have to put most of my shit in storage and move into a trailer for a few months to find a new house to
So i've also been looking for a new place to live in addition to work.
In other words, it's not a problem right this instant?
And if it does happen, this should only take a few weeks to resolve, less if you're spending almost every moment not at work on it.
There's no reason why you can't get a small start while this is going on, either.
But given that you seem to be concerned with finding excuses than finding time to learn Japanese, you probably won't succeed.
House is going up for sale next week. So i'd rather be prepared considering where I am is a really booming real estate market and people will buy this shitty house for what he's asking for it.
I'm prone to anxiety and stress so this has been hanging on my mind a lot.
But if it's just an excuse c'est la vie. I'd prefer to not worry about my housing situation and study a second language at the same time.
JRPG monsters just can't match real world ones
Oh, this faggot is still around spouting the same bait over and over?
The last time I visited jrpgg was about 4 months ago and he was doing the exact same thing.
I'm glad that at least the new Dogi replacement doesn't seem to look like a massive faggot unlike Celcetas replacement.
I'm going to miss all the awesome monk power moves though.
>inb4 he has the ugliest face ever
Also whats up with the uniforms?
Eh, yeah. And Duren was such a lovable jackass in Dawn of Ys, too.
>disgaea team is no more
>probably gonna be a shitty game
>not even cross gen
There is a lot of fun to be had with the Xillia 2 NPC skins.
Was Matsu too dumb to figure out the job extension quest?
Does FFXII IZJS have boards that correspond to each character's original boards, or are they all completely new?
I'm anal about playing games as they were originally released before experimenting on subsequent playthroughs.
I finally started plaing FF 13. Hope is not a main party member right? I don't have to play with him much longer, right? This fucking kid is pissing me off
So...about that Xillia 2 guide. Got it and entered the code on Prima's site. Got the eGuide, but where the hell is the theme that's supposed to come with it? Didn't get an email or any further instruction.
Whoa, this game looks kind of good
>beyond hyped for Ar nosurge even though I've only played AT1
>Hyped for Ar no surge even though I've never touched one of those games in my entire life.
pls make sure to read the summary linked here >>78944912 before playing Ar so you aren't back here a month from now saying "I can't believe I was hyped for Ar nosurge, the story and characters didn't make any sense!"
>>New elements and systems will also be added. And characters from previous Ys games will appear, as well.
I want Karna to come back
>Unbelievably hyped for Ar nosurge after playing AT 1/2/3 and reading the Ciel nosurge summaries
I guess people get excited over things differently. Though reading the summaries without playing Ar Tonelico is sufficient.
F-fuck you Nova ;_;
Does picking this option lead to anything else? Or is this just another option that doesn't matter and you just lose some easy relationship points?
Man, I forgot how bullshit GU Vol 1's story gets. Haseo is supposed to be an incredibly high-level player in terms of skill, but all of that gets completely thrown out the window just because the plot needs him to abuse Skeith in the arena.
And Alkaid just called him a cheater even though she somehow just pulled an awakening attack completely out of her ass (it was even during my own Beast Awakening), which everyone conveniently ignores.
Also, did weapon switching through skill trigger get added in Vol 2, or do I unlock it later in 1?
>So get people up to 8 hearts. Its not hard.
I have but I apparently picked the wrong options a lot
My heart levels:
Jude/Muzet/Elise - 6
Mila/Alvin/Gaius - 7
Rowen - 4
Leia - 8
and I can't seem to get good at poker to get chips to buy the potions
Its not really about gitting gud. You just use gold dice, double down until you are around 40k plus then quit. If you don't make a decent amount per dice, then reload your save. Quick and easy. You can get more gold dice from doing contracts.
Then dunno what to say. If you can't handle poker, can't do the EX dungeon for money and dice, and can't pay off anymore debt for pots, you will either have to New game+ or grind affinity in battles.
I thought shotas were dead in JRPGs.
He's an antagonist right? And they haven't shown the last character up top.
>mfw I finally finish TitS
Winter 2019 can't come soon enough.
>mfw some nerd said I wasn't doing well on BP in a previous thread
Who's laughing now, fucko? Almost 100% without even using a guide.
Let me put it this way, if you chose the left option for the wish you get the normal end, if you chose the right option you get the true end.
Left is save Elle, Right is destroy the dimensions
If you choose to save Elle, Elle refuses and still wishes for the dimensions to be destroyed, and then she disappears. After, Ludger meets the woman who will be Elle's mom.
If you choose to destroy the dimensions, you can also choose to sacrifice yourself to save Elle. Elle then grows up with Rollo and keeps in touch with the rest of the party.
It still felt really stupid though.
I was choosing to save Elle, and Origin didn't grant that wish because we didn't both agree to it. Then Elle wishes herself away and Origin grants it without a word from Ludger
>Luminous Arc 1
Do you people play these games exclusively for the waifus? Because it must suck to play a game where you like the character design but almost every character has no depth and the story is absolute shit.
I sacrificed Elle, and would make the same decision again every time. Elle is cool and all, but Ludger deserves to be happy. That Elle is just a fake anyway, I'd rather keep Ludger alive, so he can go and make the real one.
Are this relic items worth something, or should I just keep discarding them?
I cannot fathom how anybody can defend the plot of Luminous Arc.
It was downright awful from the very beginning. From the forced romance down to the shitty way they meet each other, terrible characters, horrendous plot twists that come out of nowhere, and terrible story overall. The only thing that kept me playing that game was the actually kind of cool tatics battle system, but holy shit I could not stomach another second of that story.
I didn't play the second game because of it, I don't expect it to be any better.
I'm surprised they actually look like something in this game. Couldn't make heads or tails of them before.
SPOILER TAGS!! Use them!! Believe it or not some of us are taking our time with this game.
What are some good action JRPGs?
I've already played Ys, Monster Hunter and Dark Souls games.
What are some other JRPGS where you have realtime action-based gameplay with dodging and shit as opposed to turn-based combat like in Persona or Final Fantasy?
Witch and the Hundred Knight, though I'm not sure it really counts as a role playing game.
Nier, definitely. Drakengard 3 if you liked Nier, though it also feels less RPG than straight up action game.
Star Ocean series (preferably the original version of 2, but to each their own).
.Hack series (G.U. for the better gameplay, though I haven't gone through the original quadrilogy)
Valhalla Knights series
Kingdom Herps series
Infinite Undiscovery (if you have a 360 of all things)
Ragnarok Odyssey games? Not sure of their quality.
>Disgaea 5’s story will have the theme of “revenge” and will also have more volume than previous Disgaea games. There will be new systems as well.
>The heroine, named Seraphine, is a demon lord of the “Gorgeous Underworld,” and is the well-brought-up daughter of an upper-class family.
>There’s also Usalia, who is the demon lord of some place called “Rabbit Rabbit World,” and has been affected by some curse that makes her go violent unless she eats curry.
I'm on chapter 11 in Xillia 2
and they had the talk with Milla under the assumption she's going to have to kick the bucket for the prime Milla to return. I already know she's going to have to go, so should I try to max fake Milla's affinity? Do you miss out on anything if you don't?
I still haven't preordered II because I can't decide if the measly microfiber cloth from the Falcom store is worth it.
>Valhalla Knights series
You might have fooled that anon but I won't fall for your ruse Anon.
Pic Related, or Nightmare of Druaga.
There's quite a few but you must truly be borderline autist to enjoy them.
I preordered the Ebten edition for the tapestry
though personally I'm disappointed that Falcom themselves are too poor to include Nendoroids in their limited editions.
I want a Nendoroid Millium and Duvali
The point of disgaea is not taking itself serious at all. This is pretty tame compared to most of the excuses for their antics. The problem is that it's a more comedy focused game now trying to be serious (not sure if a ruse though) while still keeping the comedic aspects.
Yeah, but I believe they'll be deuteragonist and tritagonist there.
Milla is easy. She can use her don't hold down the button artes and instant cast those altered artes. She later gets a skill that shortens the cast time of spells the longer your combo is, just like the graces combat.
Why does Ar nosurge have to be so sexy?
Both are the better game.
If you prefer SRPGs get TO, if you want a unique title get Vagrant Story.
Vagrant Story has also the absolute best villain ever wrote by Matsuno and one of the best villains of Jrpgs in general.
TO is one of the best SRPGs ever, with great story and characters, lots of contents and a great gameplay.
If I must add something more, Ashley is pretty fucking badass, Denam is okay, but Ashley is MD Geist Tier.
And Vagrant Story is one of the few games I would give a 10/10.
You don't need a Finnegan's Wake to make a good novel.
Of course not, but the presence of political drama doesn't automatically make it good, either.
TO's problem is that the characters seemed to exist to push the plot forward, and the plot itself was pretty basic. The writing felt very rudimentary and bare-bones.
>TO's problem is that the characters seemed to exist to push the plot forward
You realize that characters are meant to do this, right? This isn't a very detrimental aspect.
>NIS America pushed Natural Doctrine, a tactical RPG developed by Kadokawa Games, back one week from September 30 to October 3. Interestingly, Natural Doctrine now has the same amount of delays in the West as it did in Japan.
>TO's problem is that the characters seemed to exist to push the plot forward
I don't see what's the problem, most of the western literature until recent times used that mindset.
>the plot itself was pretty basic.
What part of the plot you're talking about? The liberation of Valeria, the Dark Knights' plan or the Chaos Gates? Because all of those are intertwined really well and are connected excellently to MoTBQ and to a certain extent TKoL.
I really don't see how they're supposed to be bad.
No, characters should exist as people within their universe first. This in turn makes it more meaningful on several levels when the plot happens to them (or when they initiate it).
TO's characters didn't feel like people. They felt like plot devices.
It's been a while, and I honestly detached myself from the plot pretty early, so I don't remember it well, but I remember it being a generic mix of JRPG and political intrigue tropes. Corrupt leader, dark power, etc. And it jumped from point to point with a cast that seemed to exist to make it do just that. Even when it diverged a bit, i.e. by
having the non-character MC slaughter civilians, it just lazily went through the motions of having the events happen.
>TO's characters didn't feel like people. They felt like plot devices.
What? Are you telling me that numbers in a program or letters in a page can somehow be the same as real people? Denam gets great character development, same with most of the other main characters, not to mention some parts which are not even related to the main plot like Nybeth's or Azelstan's which exist for the sake of those very characters and little else.
>it just lazily went through the motions of having the events happen.
What does that even mean? Most of the strong parts of the story are driven by the characters' decisions and personality, the entire Dark Knights' parts and interaction with the "main plot" are driven by Lancelot and his intuitions and feelings, same with characters like Leonard or Nybeth.
Any plot will need to be either character or event driven to proceed, and TO isn't any different.
Even the choices you make actually have an impact on character interaction and story progression, what else do you want?
Why does SMT have to be so silly sometimes? It's one of the major turn offs I have with the series
I understand now why JRPGs had to die. They were too big a risk, not just for the studio but for the player-base as well. No one wants to sink 40 hours into a game only to find out there is no pay off and the end game is awful. There was no trust left with the few major JRPG devs left after Square died and SE started putting out stuff that turned people off. After Konami made their first bad Suikoden, after BoF became...Something Else. After Sakaguchi ran his name through the mud with Blue Dragon. After Triace ruined what tiny bit of good was there in Star Ocean.
Hey fellas what are some JRPGs where you can create or completely customize(looks) your character?
I'm playing through Fire Emblem Awakening where you make an avatar, and you make an avatar in those White Knight Chronicle games. I kind of like it.
Sakaguchi ran his name through the mud with Spirits Within.
Blue Dragon, with all its faults and generic-ness was an okay game.
Hiring Toriyama for the designs was the worst fucking idea though.
Phantasy Star Portable games
Lord of Apocalypse
Haven't you noticed yet? It is just the beginning of a massive plan for Japan to rise to power.
They have been letting games be localised to have people interested in them, then leave the superior ones unlocalised so that people feel tempted to learn moon just to play them. And with that they slowly expand their language across the world.
Just give up and prepare for our future overlords by learning moon now.
>professional looking game
You haven't played the last Shining games, have you?
Aww yeah look at that professional shit, just ready to burst out and hand you its business card.
Actually playing/reading things in Jap.
Using nukige along with a text hooker was a godsend for me.
Or you can try games that use simple language, Tales of Phantasia PSP was my first untranslated JRPG and it wasn't too hard.
>Using nukige along with a text hooker was a godsend for me.
Once upon a time, I had the hours per day to do this. Even managed to do pretty well like you are until higher priorities slapped me upside the head. Now I forgot most of it and only have enough time for reps. Only the most basic particles are memorized now. Sucks considering I have close to 90GB of VNs waiting to be read unassisted.
Should I keep leveling these characters, or are these classes shit? Don't want to waste resources.
At chapter 3.
Do the characters in FF3 have specific stats that they are better at than the rest of the party or do they all have the same stats aside from hp?
Just curious since in ff5, heroes of light and bd they did have specific stats they were better at even though the party could be molded as you please.
Also how do stats work in this game exactly? Is it like BD where your stats change in accordance to your level and job level? In other words, the jobs growth value doesn't actually factor into the characters growth in stats.
His constant spamming of the Ferguson happenings were getting annoying, but this is the stupidest thing I've seen from him.
He's been completely brainwashed, makes me feel sorry for the english Kiseki bros. I'd be disgusted with myself if I had to buy anything he's worked on. Be grateful you have Tom checking on him so he doesn't go full politically correct on the translation
Not even towel bath lolis were this retarded.
>Game with no advertising that nobody in the west heard of sold because my name (which has nothing to do with my company name that's displayed on the Steam page) sounds white and not because it's a good game, with a good localization
Maybe it's actually some super next level modesty that we just don't understand.
Oh, who am I kidding, he's just fucking insane.
He just released a quirky japanese game when steam was pretty much devoid of them, It was obvious the weeaboos were going to eat that up. Then the normalfags realized it was actually a fun game by word of mouth and constant thread spamming, and jumped on it.
His name, his person, the colour of his skin had absolutely nothing to do with Recettear's success. But the guy has gone bonkers with all that white guilt shit he keeps eating
So I'm playing Ys Celceta finally and i have a question.
Is it worth it to walk around and talk to EVERYONE? Because I always have the OCD to do that in games, but with Ys games I always just wanna cut right to the gameplay. Talking to everyone was never a pain in the old games because the towns were so small. But with this and 7 it takes ages and i don't remember getting much out of it in 7.
>not learning Japanese after all of the censorship incidents recently
>not to mention all of the other bonuses
I'm not going to say that you're getting what you deserve because you don't know Japanese, or that you shouldn't be angry or disgusted that these ego-tripping nutjobs are the people who staff localization companies, but the facts are that they've shown that they don't much care about the consumer's anger, and some of these companies would sooner close their doors than give the consumer what they want, with no guarantee that someone better would show up to take their place.
The only ways to get away from them are to either cut out of the equation by learning Japanese or leave niche Japanese games behind entirely.
I'm so tired of this damn learn japanese argument.
I know two languages already (that are actually useful and used in more than just one country) and work 8 hour days 5 times a week for a decent salary at most and come home to more responsibilities and commitments being able to invest maybe 3 hours to vidya on weekdays 5 if I'm lucky. Why exactly should I put the effort into learning japanese just so that I can fuck over this so called censorship? I mean, as long as The story gets across I don't really care if minor changes have been made.
At least I certainly do not give 10 fucks that BD's characters were made a couple of years older and that I got a slightly less revealing bikini.
Vivian is actually a boy? Woow that had so much fucking bearing on the story and enjoyment of PM2. Mind = blown.
One thing I don't get is how it seems like to a T almost anyone who is in a position of "power" in the VG industry (I use that term loosely in the video game industry of course) shares their views.
No really, i tried to make the effort to take specialized courses for japanese every saturday at the break of dawn back when I was in college and I honestly did not see the fucking point.
I mean, I was doing that for literally one game, Tits, and even then it would take me years of studying to get japanese down enough to actually be able to enjoy playing the games.
For just a few games? I just don't care enough. The language isn't actually useful to know unless you plan on living there.
Well in Ys Seven the missable quest didn't really give you anything worthwhile and all the worthwhile items were on quests you could do in the endgame. I would assume Celceta is the same.
Is there really that many worthwhile japanese games that don't already get localized or can be played with minimal japanese knowledge?
And I mean jrpg games that aren't just waifu pandering or something like that and have an engaging story or a combination of decent story and gameplay.
Because honestly in my case, while theres several i would like to play, there aren't really any aside from a couple that I would really feel like I missed out by not playing them.
>thinking this argument is for you and only you
>thinking that people should stop talking about it because *you* personally do not care
Okay? If you don't give a shit, then don't learn Japanese.
But for the people that are absolutely fed up with the state of the localization industry, it's their only out.
Conservative approach to PR + peer pressure to stick to only criticizing politically correct targets. I'm sure it has plenty of people who don't like it but keep their mouths shut in the public eye.
The simple fact of the matter is that the west is currently scared to scrutinize movements that claim to be pro-woman and/or pro-minority, regardless of how bigoted, delusional, hypocritical, selfish, oppressive, or regressive the movement might happen to be. There's a lot of pressure to agree with them unconditionally.
>fed up with the localization industry
If you're seriously learning a whole language just because of this so called censorship I would seriously consider getting your priorities straight because just going of the most recent offenders like BD or the whole possibility of removing the word trap from akiba's trip i really don't think theres an issue to be had with the localization industry unless you're a giant whiny cunt.
I could understand the censorship pleas if there were many many incredibly bad offenders to the whole situation giving me actual reason to be mad.
If thats the case then okay sure. But as far as I am aware we were Talking exclusively about jrpgs and japanese games here, not novels that very clearly require the ability to read in japanese and hardly ever get localized.
Maybe they want to fap?
>Pathetic virgin losers!
You're on the wrong website. Facebook is that way.
You also appear to be forgetting about incidents of entire minigames and end-game content being removed for various reasons.
That's not all, either. Terrible half-dubs with no Japanese audio option, DLC that never gets released, bad translations, and year long waits (often longer), among other things.
>I don't care about any of those, so that makes you a baby. Also, I unconditionally refuse to listen to any arguments about why dubs suck, and have decided that absolutely nobody is qualified enough to make that judgment (I'm qualified to say that they're great, though; I'm just that smart).
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that you're smarter than us. Allow me to revise. Nobody should care about any of that, and nobody should learn Japanese in order to get around it.
The reason why everything you're saying is mostly shit is because it is literally opinions the post.
And yes unless you're talking to me about a dub as bad as chaos wars, which I have yet to see, your opinion on the matter is nothing more than that, a fucking opinion. Why is dual audio such a big deal? You have the game english, turn off the voices if you're so autistic that battle grunts in english bother you.
>minigames an endgame content
The minigames are definitely a non issue but tell me all the examples of endgame content being cut, I'm genuinely curious. I would also like to know how many were a cause of censorship.
I can give you this one for like 3 games which would be the Loh ones. If this really is such a bad offender though, give me more examples. I would assume the market must be filled with these if its such a big issue.
>year long waits
Localizing a game is harder than developing it. If you're that impatient then its not really the companies problem or a censorship issue. If the company can't localize it then they can't, there is no valid reason to blame them for that, especially if you don't know the circumstances behind the decision.
Not the guy you've been arguing with, but just because those points aren't worth learning the language to you doesn't mean they aren't worth learning the language to someone else. Perhaps someone with more time on their hands, for example. Regardless, you can become good enough at moon to be reading entry level stuff by studying an hour a day, so I don't think it's as huge of a timesink as you're making it out to be, though granted if your daily life is significantly more busy you might not be as invested in learning a new language.
There's also the whole matter of learning a language
Is not just about censorship, bro. You just need to take a look at NISA's "localizations" to get an idea of what kind of a joke these games are for these companies.
I'm not saying the way you're thinking is wrong, but many of us have grown tired of being subject to the whims of the people in charge of localizations. If you feel this doesn't apply to you, you're free to keep getting what they give you.
But just look at recent Atelier translations with fuck all for editing, that SAO game with its gibberish translation (And for a similar example from the same company, just look at what they did for the Gagharv games on the PSP, which are part of The Legend of Heroes saga), Tales of whatever, the one for the vita is also getting a gibberish translation.
If you can't see how people who enjoy these games would be fed up of constantly having to deal with this shit, then what is wrong with you? By all means, enjoy your terrible localizations, but don't go around giving shit to people looking for alternatives so they don't have to deal with this shit
He's not wrong in saying that it's a huge timesink. You've got over a thousand hours of work ahead of you before you're comfortably reading most things. At a strict schedule of exactly an hour per day, it would take years.
Unless you have ridiculous working hours or are working + taking classes for a work-intensive degree (i.e. medicine or engineering), you have the time, though. It's just a matter of whether you want to spend it learning Japanese.
>but tell me all the examples of endgame content being cut
From the top of my head, Persona on PS1 had like 70% of the game cut for god knows what reason. They released the PSP versions years later that had the cut content included, but that's still a valid example.
This guy's ramblings. The localization does look like shit from what we've seen, but until the game comes out we won't know for sure if those were just shitty placeholders or rough drafts.
>Looks like they've going full edge with this revenge storyline.
Nah, it's fucking Disgaea, it will be mostly comedic with an occasional tear-jerking moment and a possibility of getting a pretty horrid ending.
If it really is only a few games that you'd be learning the language for then fair enough. Probably isn't worth it.
Honestly the best basis on which to learn it is with an interest in the language itself. Learning the language and about the language in itself being an end, not just a means.
Language-learning as a chore is always going to be infinitely more difficult than language-learning as an interest. Thankfully, language is super-interesting.
Who Kokon Horay here?
No 3D models in Disgaea 5? Preorder cancelled.
>As for why the game is exclusively coming to the PlayStation 4, NIS president Sohei Niikawa explains: "We thought about going multi-platform with PlayStation 3, but doing so would've made the PS3 the standard," Niikawa said. "Since we're making it, I want to be able to offer something that could only be done with the PlayStation 4." As an example, Niikawa points out that Disgaea 5 will be able to feature 100 characters on screen simultaneously, where a PlayStation 3 version of the game could only handle 10.
>100 enemies on screen
>Keeps confusing everyone
>Have to stay linked to even do damage to him
>If my stupid AI partner gets confused so do I
>He one shots everyone after they get confused
I think I'm done with this game for today. Unlocking this arena fight is more trouble than it's fucking worth.
One thing missing from Xillia for me was a Thief/Rogue type of character, can anyone tell me if Ludger fills that role?
I see that he dual wields sometimes but he can basically transform into a bunch of weapon types? Anyone wanna explain? I kinda wish I could just stick with the dual wielding
Also convince me to buy 2? Tales of Xillia is basically the only Tales ever that i just hated thoroughly
>As an example, Niikawa points out that Disgaea 5 will be able to feature 100 characters on screen simultaneously, where a PlayStation 3 version of the game could only handle 10.
The programming in Disgaea 4 seems worse than Minecraft
>Tales of Xillia is basically the only Tales ever that i just hated thoroughly
Why would you even consider buying a sequel to a game that you hated?
The battle system was improved, but if you hated that too there is pretty much no reason for you to get the game.
When I left you, you were but a child.
But now you are my waifu.
Why is he so stylish? I'd let him come over and fuck my big sister. He looks like he'd get any job done.
If you don't know who this is, can you really be said to like JRPGs?
>If you don't __________, can you really be said to like __________?
The answer is no
Everyone's a dumb entry level kiddie at some point. That doesn't invalidate their interest in the hobby. You just need to guide them in the right direction.
FFII is also the worst Final Fantasy and the least essential to play
Only thing you need to know about it is that you can get oneshot by walking 10 steps to the south of the starting town.
Also to hit yourself for hours.
To laugh at people who pay money for DLC, alternately to feel pity at all the costumes you will never get.
>To laugh at people who pay money for DLC, alternately to feel pity at all the costumes you will never get.
I don't think I've ever played a game that had DLC or costumes I wanted. But then I don't like many games this gen
I don't know, I thought the characters were better in the second game.
Leia actually felt like a character, instead of just a tag-a-long, and Alvin basically spent the whole game suffering.
>Only thing you need to know about it is that you can get oneshot by walking 10 steps to the south of the starting town.
Wow that's like, so hardkore maaan! It's like it's the Dark Souls of the famicom!
Wow thats some blurry lolwut. Let's see if this fixes it
They're relationships with each other felt better. But with Leia being the exception they don't really seem all that different from when Xillia ended. I can't comment on
actualMilla since I haven't gotten to her yet, but I can imagine a change from hanging out in the spirit world for a bit.
I heard it was the Spirius Corp building.
and I hope I picked the right stuff for Xillia 2 NG+ with the crap GRADE I had.
*the items that teach artes and skills
*Affinity (main reason why I did a NG+)
Actual Milliais probably the character who changed the least out of the main cast.
Alvin was probably the one who changed the most, with him trying to better himself and actually be a decent dude.
Leia actually feels like a character to me now, and her interactions seeming a lot more natural now than they were before.
Jude feels like a better character, much more focused and interesting, with goals that extend beyond "Muh Millia!"
Elize and Rowen are pretty much the same, but their character episodes help develop them nicely, so while they stay mostly the same they still feel different as they're in different situations. Though Elize feels more mature, especially in her interactions with Elle.
Shining games hasn't been good in years, and even back in Force games they were still passable at best.
I'll still probably get it as I do always, but you're not missing on anything if it keeps the same standards of the previous recent games. Plus Taka's art is objectively horrible with no sense or desire of improvement, very much similar to Urushihara with the last being worst in that department.
I would agree with you if once again your post weren't opinions the post.
The problem is that these games are barely getting a localization effort and a very minor group of people "whine" about the quality of the translation.
If the translation was TRULY as shitty as you make it sound then I would see a lot more people complaining. The average person is satisfied with the point getting across in the writing, even if the localization isn't accurate to the bone.
People like you though, make it sound like its the bane of everyones existance. Perhaps its no wonder they don't put more effort into the localization.
Honestly, I'm just happy we get the games at all. A lot of these games don't really have the quality to make beat sellers over here so I'm thankful that theres companies who do it already for that shitty profit.
Congratulations you gave me one example, of a game that is no longer relevant even. Since we got the game remake with no content cut.
I don't doubt your statement but its absolutely baffling not to mention enraging that someone would tell me to get off my ass and learn japanese and not rely on localization companies for wanting one or two games that aren't getting localized. Its nothing but e-peen moonfags and its even worse when some whiny censorshipfag comes around and says "oh we don't get proper bravo bikini in BD? Game ruined, time to learn moon." Seriously what the fuck?
Though I can't help but argue against a certain unnamed company, whose translations regularly introduce game-breaking (and in some cases, console-breaking) bugs and all kinds of lowbrow sexual humor in the form of name changes.
>Honestly, I'm just happy we get the games at all
That's the saddest shit I've read in 4chan since ~30 minutes ago.
Don't mind me, I'm just quoting you for emphasis.
How long did that take you? I'm actually replaying Infection right now and planning on finally playing the rest of the IMOQ series for the first time. Wrapping up the book stuff in Infection right now and I'm surprised at how quickly it's going by.

anyone thought that Liberl Kingdom from Sora no Kiseki is very very similar to City State of Jowston from Suikoden II? it's not just about having a lake in the middle. even the placements of the cities around it are similar.
What's the best Rune Factory game overall?
is there one which has the best combat/is most combat focused or are they all about even in balancing the combat/life stuff?
I could buy the Rune Factory 4 on my 3DS shop or I could emulate Frontier for Wii or something else.
36-37 hours, which is 29-30 hours not counting all the main cutscenes. 6 hours of which were spent trying to get Kestrel's goddamn accessory, because a 5000 man guild has trouble finding someone to watch the store.
I played 4 and didn't like it. It felt like a jack of all trades, master of none. Had a lot of shit to do but none of it was particularly well-done and as such not very fun.
Lots of people would disagree with that assessment, however.
That hair looks nothing like Pleinair's hair.
While we're on this topic, which Disgaea game do you guys think is the best?
