>Not wanting to fuck Midori, then cuddling with her afterward, hugging her, and never letting her go
DeSu2 isn't best.
They're both good.
And? Age is just a number.
Midori a shit. Also,
>not wanting to fuck Naoya
What's wrong with you anon?
Plus DeSu2, like DeSu1, takes place in an isolated city filled with demons, in a state of chaos.
If you aren't gonna take Midori during the Lockdown, you can AFTER it's all over.
Plus, she wants you anyway by the Last Day, so it's win/win.
(Only exception is Naoya's Ending; the "evil as fuck" one where you fight Betatron, NOT the Benevolent Lord Abel one.).
I dunno, maybe it's because I'm an only child.
Besides, I'd rather knock him out and
steal his robe / cape / whatever it is.
Just LOOK at it! It's all green and black, and has the Matrix Raining Code on it (in game)! In the pic you just posted, it looks like a form of flowing hardware; that's the only way I can describe it.
Could you use that cape or whatever to summon demons, seeing as it looks electronic / mechanical, despite being clothing?
A DEMON SUMMONING PROGRAM YOU CAN LITERALLY WEAR!
>actually wanting to fuck a 15 year old camwhore (she really is, it's practically stated in the game itself) with a nails-on-chalkboard voice and a brain with the capacity of an insect
>>actually wanting to fuck a 15 year old camwhore (she really is, it's practically stated in the game itself)
In regards to the setting of the game, being Tokyo under a lockdown due to demons being loose, yeah. Both during and after the lockdown.
What is the legal age in Japan anyway?
>with a nails-on-chalkboard voice
Not played DeSuOC. Not applicable.
>and a brain with the capacity of an insect
Now that's just mean. She isn't that bad.
On the other hand, she and Keisuke are already a couple.
Might as well go for Amane.
>She isn't that bad.
She isn't that bad? She's so thick that she doesn't stop for a quarter of a second to think that what she's doing isn't helping. How many times did Midori get herself into situations where her life was hanging in the balance due to her misguided ideas of justice via It's only after Abel and co verbally beat some sense into her that she realises there are consequences for her actions and that she can't go around parading her magical justice bullshit.
>On the other hand, she and Keisuke are already a couple.
That's not even remotely true, and if there were any romantic feelings it was one-sided by way of Keisuke.
In his route he'll probably give it to you if you ask, no need to use violence.
But I get what you're saying. Fuck the Overlord's/Messiah cape, I want Naoya's too I-I doubt you can use it to summon demons, though...
I guess that's an acceptable answer.
Keisuke TRIES to deny it, but seriously. The guy went on a judgemental rampage on everybody just because people were planning to kill Midori for doing her "Magical Justice". For him to care about her that much to go on his rampage, there's some real emotion there.
And Midori seems to be very aware of that, and teases Keisuke about it when Atsuro lampshades it.
No problem, Anon.
But yeah I do see your point.
Just keep in mind the whole situation of DeSu, with the Tokyo Lockdown, demons everywhere, people getting Rent, Slaughtered, and Devoured, and all the NPCs learning to form gangs and use COMPs themselves...
Of course Midori will do what SHE THINKS is best in such a situation, even though it did make things worse until Abel and Co. helped, as you said.
Also, what do you think about Naoya's Cape?
And the idea that you could use it as a wearable DSP.
>The guy went on a judgemental rampage on everybody just because people were planning to kill Midori for doing her "Magical Justice".
See I think you're forgetting what Keisuke went through before the events of the game, and the resulting changes that occurred in him. What's happening to Midori while she has her COMP is the exact kind of thing that he went through when he tried to stand up for kids who were getting their shit kicked in, right down to threats of violence. He's acting so brashly because he relates 100% to the situation.
I'm not saying that what Midori was doing was wrong, because it was right. She had the right idea but she was executing it in the worst way possible, and never stopping to think how she's being viewed by the people she's attempting to rescue from the gaping maw of that Abbadon over there.
Also I don't care for Naoya's cloak at all, but I like the shirt.
>Aleph will need 10 MAG and 10 INT at certain points in the game. Aside from that, a VIT/STR build as usual.
So should I focus on Int and Mag until they're both 10 right at the start, or will I find enough Incense-type items to boost the stats so I can focus on Str/Vit during level ups?
>Feeling like shit for giving your dog a powerful, immortal demon body
There were no downsides.
>Brute Momunofu wants to talk to you
>Heh, I need to be nice once in a while
Wow you're mad. Sure YOU'RE not the cancer in this discussion?
Wow, you again. Sure you aren't infected with the Delphinus Parasite? I WOULD brainwash you so you'd stop being a toxic asshole, but I'm not a lawfag. Even if I was, I wouldn't be a diehard one.
You on the other hand seem like the perfect image of delusion and rage. Gonna turn into Psycho Apollyon sometime?
When they aren't assholes or outright want you dead, yeah.
>tfw one of your demons wants to talk to you
>They give you an Incense or Bead of Life
That's what they WANT you to think.
Yeah I figured the Int was for negotiating. And I learned pretty quickly I should've trained more in the VR, got my ass handed to me in the arena maze. Speaking of, can you start recruiting demons in that maze or no?
I'm Neutral and I don't think that.
Also, this Anon (not the one I'm replying to) clearly doesn't have anything better to do than to be a toxic asshole and type as incoherently as possible. What a true plebian.
Hey Janitor/Mod, you forgot
Much appreciated. You're a true comrade to /smtg/, Janitor/Mod
Be careful what you say about Digital Devils.
There are some among us here. And some of them may not be as comprehending as I am.
Are there any emulators for iOS apps?
SMT on Android when?
Also I read or heard somewhere once that in the first game if you fail to recruit a demon twice you'll never be able to recruit it ever again. This seems like bullshit, was I just being fucked with?
He could be.
Well, another pic to add to my /r/list.
1- YHVH literally driving Merkabah
2- Metatron as Megatron
3- Megatron as Metatron
4- Hexafusion of Kanji from P4, Kenji from P3, and King Kenji from SMT IV
5- Raidou as Avatar of Lucifer
I'd like to see you try, hee-ho!
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Well at least she never confesses nor you are given the option to tell her you lover her or anything, its onvious every female wants your dick.
Its up to you to who will get it.
Hinako gets it after making me a lap dance
>mother harlot will never teach you the ultimate carnal techniques
>you will never use them on Mirai
Sick joke Anon. Don't say shit like that.
Took you long enough, Mirai Anon.
>Shiva and Vishnu will never bless you with godly dancing skills
>You will never use them to charm Hinako, fuck her silly, marry her afterward, and travel the world as a dancing couple to make people happy and make money, living the rest of your lives out in joy and bliss
>Obligatory "Why Live?"
Another idea to writefag later, when I'm better at it.
no children, anon?
>you will never be given the power to reshape the world as you see fit
>you will never be a persona user >your persona will never be Hades
That depends. I just want the basic ideas down this early. Once I take a writing class or two at the university, maybe I might get to being a writefag "for the glory of /smtg", and write out all these ideas into reality.
Didn't that already happen in P2:IS?
But wait, which Hades? The only ones I know that are feasible, are:
Disney Hercules Hades
Original Greek Mythology Hades
Kid Icarus Uprising Hades
What does "ED" stand for in your context, anyway?
>That depends. I just want the basic ideas down this early. Once I take a writing class or two at the university, maybe I might get to being a writefag "for the glory of /smtg", and write out all these ideas into reality.
I dig it anon, I wish I had the drive to draw more, Id love to do some fanart for everyone
honestly, I want hercules hades, james woods' voice and everythinghe is one of my favorite bad guys after all I dont remember though, I lost my save for IS and havent had that drive to play it again yet
OK then. That could work, for those who LIKE NTR. I personally don't, but I could write it with the main one for the benefit of NTRfags
But who to NTR Hinako WITH?
So many options to choose from to write about...
Yeah bro, thanks for the support.
Hercules Hades is precisely on par with Kid Icarus Hades. They're both good in their own ways.
>there are people in the world that like NTR
that is one fetish I dont understand at all
Thats not NTR (Your GF gets stolen), Thats Nitori (You stole someone GF).
I think it works in anime because the MC is either a beta or he is annoying thus the one who NTR becomes the hero of the story.
There can only be one. World of STR or world of MAG?
They are wrong, if you want to search for a game were the MC NTR someone then the MC will stole some guy GF.
With NTR you play as the beta faggot while he sees his GF/Wife gets fucked.
Thats not NTR thats being a slut (In wich case the girl is the MC).
I speak unto the filth.
We will not allow you to take even a single step into the lands of the Eastern Kingdom of /smtg/.
We will obliterate you filth just as the Lord has commanded.
>Chiaki is a beautiful girl and a good friend
>It will create a world of beauty guided by the worthy
>Supported by those with the moral high ground in SMT, angels
>You don't have to skip any bosses
>Final bosses still provide a challenge thanks to no Pierce
>Don't have to sully your hands involving yourself with Lucifer
>Kagutsuchi approves of it
Why in the world wouldn't you go Yosuga?
>Not siding with Musubi and being your OWN God in YOUR Own world.
>Not being YHVH lite
>Trying to murder someone who has only ever loved you
I'm assuming Nocturne?
Fog Breath is more important than War Cry, and War Cry appears more on demons.
You can have counter, but I don't like to have it in case I end up countering something that has repel/drain phys, or end up wasting my power charge on a counter
this Nocturne? Counter/Retaliate are pretty good when you can get to them, but by the time you get to the final dungeon you'll want to swap it out for resist/null/absorb reflect, because too many enemies can bounce your counter right back at you or just eat it up.
For the same reason, you don't want reflect phys. It's too tedious to have enemies with absorb phys hit you and get that health back
Before the end of the game, when you are restarting the world, she comes very close to, or may be she does based on her attitude.
Need some help with the Munakata boss fight in the first Raidou game. So he summons the Hiruko that stun you so that he can do his death beam, and you're supposed to dodge/return your demon. Easy peasy. Except every time he does it after the first time, he summons the Hiruko inside me so I get insta-stunned by it. What am I doing wrong?
Where is that pic of him from? It looks like the Tartarus clock in the background there...
See the pic? Yeah.
I saw one of these for the DDS cast, and I need it.
If you have more of these with cut-ins featuring other MegaTen characters, that'd be much appreciated.
Because while Persona may be a slightly arguement-causing topic here at /smtg/, you can't deny the cut-ins look nice and badass.
I hope you like DDS1 and Nocturne Raidou edition since that's the most you'll get.
>what ending to aim for.
>That gives me hope then. Because I honestly do love magic builds.
I love magic builds too, that's why i ignored everyone saying that STR is the way to go and went full MAG, i didn't now much about nocturne and i didn't know about masakados, which i got and used against the final boss but because i was ignorant of it's existence until the end of the game i
maxed MAG, but it was super fun using a magic build, nocturne is amazing and no matter how many times i play it i feel like i want to play it again, my hunger is eternal.
First time playing nocturne here.
Dark might broke Ose in half.
I'm thinking I'm going to recruit a lot of jack frost.
Make way for the best Devil Survivor
>On the other hand, she and Keisuke are already a couple.
You didn't let the fucker live did you?
>Might as well go for Amane.
I would make sweet love with Karen Strassman
Its obvious that Midori LIKES the MC as if you do her events the game mentions she actively searching times for you two to talk alone.
MidorixKeisuke is just DeSu´s KanjixNaoto, heavily portrayed but ultimately not something confirmed.
I used Fumi Hinako Joe in my first playthrough and Hinako is pretty much the perfect physical character for the game because of her high AG.
But yeah, Fumi's MA is pretty much unrivaled in the game.
Then again, there can be only one holy dancer and that is the MC.
Guess I should finish replaying SJ huh.
>There are people browsing this general who have never written an award wining thesis on it.
>There are people browsing this general who have never been funded by the government to master their anti-gravity properties for military purposes.
Y'all NEETs are missing out big time.
>Best slutty DeSu
Seriously. Literally every single piece of art, right down to the box art, has her signature imminent nip slip. It's revealing yet subtle. How could you not love that.
On a side note, with PQ coming on my b-day, why not treat my self to a 3ds? Is Overclocked worth getting even though I played the original to death?
>How could you not love that.
Because she reminds me of my ex
>Is Overclocked worth getting even though I played the original to death?
Combat system is still worse than DeSu2.
I'm slowly progressing through all the endings, but it gets really boring playing through it for the umphteenth time especially because like you, I played the original to death.
Get it if you can get it for cheap,
same goes for Soul Hackers, it's not stellar
>your father-figure will never return to life as your 10/10 persona
>P5 Will just stick to the touched-up demon models and mythological/literary references
>P5 won't have real people and loved ones as personas
And it's a YHVHdamned shame too. I bet they won't even add P5 exclusive myth figures as persona to keep things fresh either.
Nobody here actually ever discusses DDS right?
SMT really sucks ATM when you think about it, last good game was, what, Strange Journey?
And it seems Atlus is intent on being humongous Jews. More Personas up the ass, no proper SMT for consoles...
Shit son, all I ever wanted was an HD SMT with a big detailed world, proper battle animations, etc. Fuck me right.
i beat persona 3 and persona 4 on
they were my first JRPGs. i didnt have to use a single continue in p4.
think im ready to play Nocturne on normal?
Sorry for being a faggot and asking a question but I am trying to fuse a Sati in Nocturne I have Onknot and seems with Horus it makes Sati but I can't find a recipe for a Horus or does anyone know how a different recipe for Sati?
>playing games on easy
But as long as you have half a brain, Nocturne will be fine for you.
Just beat Persona 2 Innocent Sin. Pretty good ending, although it seems kinda cliche.
Did you guys thank or hit Philly? I hit 'em. Lel.
Also, is Persona 2: Eternal Punishment worth playing? What's it about?
If you're playing games for the story you're essentially wasting time that could be spent reading an actual good book
Don't pretend there's a single game that compares to high literature
>a big world filled with content instead of lame menu navigation is bad
>proper animations are bad
>detailed character and demon models are bad
>everything that superior hardware can offer is bad
No wonder Atlus gets away with this shit.
>Don't pretend there's a single game that compares to high literature
Honestly man, that all comes down to opinion. The same could be said about anime and movies. Any media could deliver pleasurable material that stimulates the brain.
I read stupid books too. And manga. And watch shows. And sometimes movies. This is why I'm over 10yrs behind on any given media type.
Let me put it in words you can understand. When it comes to media, I cannot escape my hunger.
If I like something enough, I'll play through it again on another setting.
I never said they are bad things, but if that's all you care about it's kinda sad.
>continuing to learn nothing
What do books such as Dante's Inferno and The Scarlett Letter teach anyone? Jeeze. You're acting like you're better than everyone else just because you've read a few recs off the /lit/-newfag macro. Fuck off.
But it would be worse.
And SMT4 is worse than Nocturne. It's a step down in 90% of departments.
SMT fans are such beggars, you guys accept pure horseshit downgrades as long as you get anything. Pathetic.
Everyone hates her, that's why I posted her specifically.
I really hate assfaggots as much as the next guy, but imagine a fast-pace thirdperson assfaggots SMT game. Casuals love that stuff so I could be easy money. You could take the place of a demon summoner facing off 5v5 against other people.
If they wanted to leach off of real money cosmetics they could give demon skins that change the model, such as an Orthrus model for Cerberus. Hell, they give you a model you could customize and have follow your demon around in their lane.
Heck add some classic rpg elements to the game. Have special "mission" you could que up for where you fight agains multiple demons or AI controlled super demons. "Fuse" skins and alt-models for new skins and models.
So, shit idea, or no?
>implying that the law ending of II is not the highest of all literature.
What you want is better presentation, not a better game.
Here's an example you may understand: Take Halo CE anniversary. You can change the graphics between the updated and original between a push of a button. If you're playing on the updated graphics, the presentation is better, yet the gameplay is unaffected.
Giving an SMT game 3D models, etc. wouldn't improve the game, just the presentation.
>You didn't let the fucker live did you?
Course I did. Went for Amane instead.
Regrettably, you're both right.
Even still, >>84593109
Can you do this same build I used in DeSu1 in DeSu2, but better? Just wondering cuz I haven't played DeSu2.
Damn, Anon. I would say I feel for you but I have no one to speak of.
Merkabah is God's Throne
Therefore, he has to be A GODLY CAR!
Which begs the question:
Why is there no picture of this yet?
Only good for fucking.
Here, for fusions, straight outta OP Pastebins.
Hit the son of a bitch. The fucker deserves it for making his bet with Nyarly.
Actually pretty good.
Is Nocturne worth it still if /v/ already spoiled me on something? They told me the
MC's best friend dies
Also for someone who came off of SMT IV would it still be relatively difficulty for them?
Oh fuck the visions are starting again
I fought Babel under leveled, doing nothing but Holy Dancing and Draining. Everyone was dead, even my demons, but I just kept draining. It was the worst war of attrition I ever fought.
Shit was still fun though.
>Is Nocturne worth it still if /v/ already spoiled me on something? They told me the
MC's best friend dies
Just get used to it.
There's a reason why "All my friends are dead" is in our recommended reading.
It's SMT. Everyone dies. It's whether you bring them back or not that matters.
And I didn't find the dificulty any diffrent from IV. Matador is a wake up call but other than that, it's pretty normal.
And regarding the difficulty, it's harder but more fair than IV.
It's easy to adapt to most roadblocks like Matador in Nocturne, whereas early fights in IV are hoping they don't crit+smirk
There are people right now in this very general who don't consider amane's ending the true one. Especially on overclocked where they pretend loki is the mid level boss for day 8.
Speaking of strange journey, does retarded literature anon realize that reading books, as well as more modern things like games which reference them are useful to do together? You don't need to have them be a battle. Like for instance when they mentioned dante, you realize that
in strange journey, the law ending is kind of based on dante's description of heaven where each person has a particular seat they more or less reside in, but everyone there still communes as one collective, since they're no longer bound by their body. Strange journey doesn't really say whether they never leave the pillars, but it looks like that's the case, and yet in the ending zelenin is still talking to you directly.
It costs too much to make a console game now, that's why they ignored the PS3 until P5 which is the only game that would sell well enough to justify the effort
The persona spinoffs can fuck right of though
SMT is the naked lunch of games, anyway.
it's worse than extinction. at least with extinction there's still some chance of human culture being preserved and found by others. in the law end humanity just 'stops', and all past history is forgotten and all future history is made impossible. humanity is castrated, lobotomized, and put out to pasture.
There's nothing utopic about spending eternity in a coma.
Who cares? Sure, it chafes a little bit thinking about it while we still have free will and ego. But we'd be blissful for eternity. If given a choice between free will and happiness I choose happiness.
Why should I care about progress or history? They're both tools to try to attain happiness on a societal level. If we can achieve happiness forever for everyone, I'd gladly give them up. I don't see what's wrong with having sweet dreams for eternity.
i must kill you for the sake of my wife and my happiness.
Because drugs are imperfect and have equally bad lows as they have highs. I prefer to live in naive contentment than to feel momentary highs. Not really SMT at this point though.
Here's what you chaosfags don't realize though. You're not disturbed by it being a dubious place to live, since it makes it clear that its not, but rather just how alien it seems. If you were to flip it around, and someone from that society came to neutral earth to live for a few days, and was asked whether they think its better, they'd consider the idea that that's even in question laughable. Hordes of people constantly fighting, starving to death, various forms of depression and suffering and suicide, and even when things aren't going shittily still having to constantly work a job you'd probably rather not just to achieve a mediocre life. And what do you get in return? The freedom to choose from a set of choices you will never really understand the full ramifications of... in the hopes of MAYBE achieving a life that's probably almost as good as what each of them have automatically. And you handwave that even if you get this, there's hordes of people starving in exchange.
All because you aren't really big into philosophy, but vaguely have the idea that you think that a paradise would be bad if you didn't have your current standards of "freedom" there despite knowing that in this paradise you wouldn't care, and it wouldn't matter, NOT knowing that such a thing as "freedom" isn't really as real as you imagine anyways, and admitting you don't care about people who have it bad since you think that you don't, despite it being obvious that you know they'd want it.
Fuck you, goku you dont tell me what to do.
At least Zelenin has a great singing voice.
Wouldn't you rather die of the plague while a bunch of sweaty guys punch eachother in the dick, though?
Its bad because its taking a shortcut that neuters the end result. Rather than eventually achieve a society where people are equally happy but also free, you settle for lobotomizing your way straight there. You could have done better but you settled.
>punching other in the dick a bad thing
i fucking love you anon.
If you are the anon who wants to start from the beginning, you will "need" to read these. KMT1 takes place after them, and they're the original story the entire series was based on.
Play them by release date, SMT1, SMT2, KMT, and idk hopefully Gideon fucking finishes If... this month
I lucked out on finding that one dudes upload. Reading pdf files is a fucking pain.
I feel bad for not updating lately, but idk. I'm broke and getting burnt out on SMT. Former stressing me out, and latter meaning no will to do anything.
So while I'm blabbing about it, any requests? I only really do games I've played, hence a focus on older titles.
I have a doujin I wanna upload, some old posts with interesting info (I wanted to get some screenshots for them though), TSUMIXBATSU which is just a cute website I don't want to be lost to time, and the KMT maps. I want to do the other games too, but I'd rather finish KMT first. idk. I did some SMT2 ones, but I didn't transfer them.
Speaking of being broke, I bought some English guides. Nocturne, Raidou 1, Persona 1, and Persona 2 EP. And SMT2 in Japanese. But I don't have a scanner, don't unbind books... I know some of the pdf of the books are up, I could type stuff out from them. I dunno man.
Lord, not this again. Were you not here when your bad logic was debunked last time? I'm suspecting it was you since you're wording it almost identically. What you're referring to is nonsensical / a contradiction. In this society you're describing, CAN people do these bad things, or are they a real considered choice? If so, then a statistically likely percentage will do so, so of course people aren't as happy. If they're not realistic options for anyone there / so alien to the people who live there that no one does them... then all you're doing is describing you slowly shifting to the same extreme law end, but pretending that if you do it gradually instead of fast that it "doesn't count." People can't be both free and not free in a specific way. If they can't realistically make these choices, then you're just playing word games to alleviate your realization that this outcome is correct.
You are also acting like the people in this world don't count as being regularly alive... based on nothing. They act differently than regular humans? So would humans who over thousands of years gradually got to a peaceful world. You're just admitting that you're having a fearful reaction to a universal radical personality shift, since you imagine your current self as your "real self." But there's no such thing. This is just shifting faster. And you can't have both equal happiness plus the freedom to choose not have it. That's not statistically feasible. This is beyond what you want
I hope that you loved chiaki and her world of beautiful things, /smtg/.
>fuck all poor people.
>all the selfishness of classical objectivism, but now with an angelic veneer!
>I-its totally meritocratic or something, guys! Ignore that I'm the entitled rich girl.
this shit is kinda confusing, so let me see if I understand it.
Megami Tensei 1 and 2 were released for the NES, then Kyuukaku Megami Tensei was released for the SNES, which is basically a remake of the MT1+2
Then they released SMT1 and 2, which is another remake of the original games, but in a better engine, is that it?
The world in the Law ending guarantees a moderate form of happiness, but not complete happiness. In fact it downright ensures that no one in that world will be able to achieve true happiness. The Law ending replaces humanity's chance to achieve the enlightenment Gore foresaw with complacency. True utopia won through humanity's perseverance and progress dashed so that they could be fed second place with a silver spoon with God's name stamped on. Enlightenment and becoming spiritually aligned with the universe is true utopia, because it doesn't have downsides.
And I've never argued this with you before. That just means there's more than one sane man alive.
No but it made significant improvements and if you go to smt after kmt you'll want to kill yourself plus it'll lessen your appreciation for how much smt 2 improved on the formula
You ran out of real things to say, so now you're just making stuff up that's either real nor in-game. What is this "true" happiness you can achieve only in a neutral world, and why should we even believe there's such a thing, and that it requires "freedom," a thing which is just a word for something you imagine yourself as having, but which realistically doesn't even exist? If law's goal is to prevent any suffering or detriment, chances are they're filling people with as much happiness as they can fit. And the ending makes it clear that in this case its happening in a way people approve of.
You appear to be referring to ecstasy, and the hedonistic highs that you experience that are inter-spaced with lows. Which is ironic in that most philosophers in the past of real merit, as well as psychologists now will tell you that that's not how to achieve the best happiness, but rather a consistent inner calm and inner happiness that is a consistent state. In other words, what you get in law. So you would sacrifice world peace now on a gamble that you admit will fuck over countless generations, all so that MAYBE in the far future, SOME people will have a chance to have it even better... based on some ill defined standards of happiness you assume exist, but can't identify.
If you think that more freedom is necessary in order to achieve this true happiness then for that matter, why stop at neutral? What makes neutral's restrictions okay? Go full chaos.
If it comes down to whether or not to trust in Gore and humanity then I know which side I'm on.
Gore directly states that he learned of humanity's infinite potential when he gained his enlightened form. Gore sees a future that is higher and better than the one you settle for in Law. He knows it is possible for humanity to achieve greater and has seen it with his own eyes. I'm making nothing up, whereas you put words in my mouth and claim the support of dead philosophers. I believe I've said all I needed to say, this bickering will go nowhere.
>You appear to be referring to ecstasy, and the hedonistic highs that you experience that are inter-spaced with lows
nigga did you even read what he wrote?
For someone who isn't really familiar with the franchise at all, is there any in-game way to tell which demons are Dark and can't be recruited and to tell what their alignment is? Should I just have the wiki ready to search every demon I stumble across?
>Enlightenment and becoming spiritually aligned with the universe is true utopia, because it doesn't have downsides.
This line can be summarily dismissed, since that's effectively what the core of the law ending is, and so deviating from it means you reject the idealized version. The only thing gained is the fluctuating highs and lows of freedom, and valuing individual highs and experience as more important than apatheia. Just because new agers pretend that they can call anything they want spiritual doesn't mean they're saying anything of substance.
Hmmm, I dunno, I usually just recognized their speech patterns after awhile.
How far are ya? Make sure you get like 10 int on Hero, or the demons won't wanna talk to you no matter what.
oh right, also this. but i think the analyze is shit.
you can talk to whoever you want, except like... ghosts.
>The only thing gained is the fluctuating highs and lows of freedom
the reason why enlightenment works is because it takes the fluctuating away, when you are one with all there is no high nor low
and I know Im focusing on this one part, its the most important thing in this discussion to me
>Make sure you get like 10 int on Hero
That reminds me, was there ever any benefit to investing more than those minimal 10 points of int and mag into Aleph? Same for the 10 Int in the first game's Hero. I never bothered going over 10 and seemed to do fine.
>Just because new agers pretend that they can call anything they want spiritual doesn't mean they're saying anything of substance.
You realize spirits are real things in SMT right?
we could always find crazy cultists who'll teach us to summon demons
and I'm sure /g/ would be interested in aiding the creation of a demon summoning program
I think it aids your magic defense, and I saw someone say it effects negotiations to an extent, but probably not enough to matter.
I still use every incense on the main char, yolo.
>God picking all your stats at the start of the game with no explanation is such archaic design, glad later smts got rid of it
SMT and most other RPGs that did that had explanations of all the stats in the manual, back then it was pretty much assumed people read manuals - which was always a good idea.
Anyone has a pre-patched ROM that works? I already tried with two different ROMs both hardpatcged and with the patch in the same place but it either crashes or there's an error in the ROM.
Why is SMT so BL friendly?
I see your dead Chiaki and raise you a live Yuko
oh! well thanks for the warning on that then. I will definitely keep that in mind
I sure hope so. I'm mostly gonna get it for xenoblade but I love that they put in extra buttons. I hope they make an app for it to be able to connect to the wii u and function as an extra pro controller. I love this thing so much
>SMT4 on sale for over 50% off on the NA eShop and Amazon to celebrate it's release in Europe
Oh Nintendo, you cads.
I like Yuko, don't get me wrong, the whole mature teacher is really appealing.
But she is the stupidest character in Nocturne, and high up among all the retarded retards from the whole series and spinnoffs.
Because they're not law aligned, and they're afraid that he might eventually lawify all reality?
A better question is why it sounded like they were saying yhvh wasn't even law. It sounds like they were saying that the battle between law and chaos was all orchestrated by him as part of an even bigger process. It didn't particularly sound like they were more afraid of law ends than chaos ends. What it sounded like was that they were afraid of both, and saw both as tools in yhvh's game somehow.
Or maybe they just mean that he occasionally allows some chaos shit to happen in order to push law more at a different time. However that works. Ironically, this might mean that mastema and the archangels were both right in different ways, because they both saw it as a different step in the plan.
The Lady in Black mentions in Nocturne that the universe is perpetuated with the eternal battle between Law and Chaos. Demons, humans, even the smallest of bacteria are pawns to the two powers.
Even the conception is a process that involves destruction (Chaos) and creation (Order), and the battle continues to wage on beyond the Vortex World.
And in Raidou Lucifer mentions that is determined by God.
hello, smtg. i took a long break from playing giten but i've been playing more of it here and there since the windows edition was posted for download publicly on tumblr
and still doesn't work reliably for me, go figure, so i figured i'd drop my really quick translation of the story summary up to where i've reached here for anyone interested. this starts from a few hours into the game.
this is where the game really gets interesting, imo, since it's finally getting to the meat of the plot and i imagine there'll be a lot more law/chaos choices popping up from here on out.
But the obvious assumption is that God wants to ultimately law-ify everything. And the battle is ongoing either because chaos is still messing it up, or because each world exists on its own so it might not even be possible to permanently do anything. And the cycle helps push anything not law back onto law. So are they trying to say that God isn't actually law in the way that the law side imagines that it is? Or what.
God and what He is varies depending on the game to a certain degree.
IV seems to treat him as a concept, with Lucifer even commenting that no matter how loyal you are to him, He will never answer, and it comes off like Mastema and the Four Archangels are trying their own paths to pleasing Him.
Even his avatars can't be fully trusted to represent him, as they have to manifest into the world with a physical form. Demiurge even went rouge.
And then you get things like God's Wrath which was the nukes that ruined the world and God's Scheme which let the demons out.
Also if you read the details for the Law quest for slaying the White. One of them will have Gabriel mention that the White gained knowledge beyond their ken.
So it's likely they gained knowledge of God's true nature.
graphics (worse as far as sprites are concerned, more colourful and intricate backgrounds and it isn't pixellized), music (some anons here have said they prefer it greatly over the original), interface, and playing speed. 98 version is slow and tedious until you get used to having to click everything.
...But this is smt. God's true nature s either lawful... secretly neutral? Lawful, but allows neutral worlds to exist in order to make lawful people through universalism... or doesn't give a fuck and lets it go back and forth, but angels pretend he wants law. There's only so many options.
>98 version is slow and tedious until you get used to having to click everything
Yeah, I know. Thought it was a nice game after getting used to it though. Didn't play much.
Thanks for clearing that up, it looks like I have to download the windows version too, although I don't really like the interface in your screenshots.
Well Kagutsuchi said God gave people freedom (Chaos or Neutral?) but was utterly disgusted with what mankind did with it so thats why he began the conception (Law). So God true nature is still a mistery.
honestly, as attached as i am to the 98 version, i'd opt for the windows one if i had the choice even though its sprite quality is ridiculous. especially in the first quarter of the game, giten is heavy on dungeon crawling and moving between the directional buttons and the battle commands can be a pain. pretty sure i'm close to developing carpal tunnel.
in the windows version, you can also move around the modules however you want, so there's that.
Sounds like someone's getting Dystopian up in here...
About to go into my Spanish Exam Part 1 in roughly 4 hours.
Have to write an essay of sorts in 300 words, more or less.
I'm paranoid as hell nothing I study will work. Basically, usual exam stress and mental pain.
Anybody have some words of encouragement?
Or things like RIP Anon?
I assume you don't need to be familiar with the first Demon Summoner game before playing Soul Hackers? Thinking of picking it off the eShop since it's probably about as cheap as it'll ever be, though I don't have much time to play it at the moment.
How obnoxious is this streetpass feature too? I doubt I'll ever streetpass anyone with the game.
I've got an exam tomorrow too. Good luck anon, learning languages is hard but it pays off.
>Lucifer will never be as mysterious and powerful as he was in Nocturne again
>hopefully Gideon fucking finishes If... this month
it's not too likely, apparently there are issues with shops and as of the time of that tweet, they hadn't started beta testing yet. i'm guessing it will be out next month.
Except the world that continues on is the one that caused the conflict to come to a boiling point in the first place. So it will obviously do the exact same thing very soon after.
"Shit, he's failing the exam! An ambulnance... No, first we need to stop the test! Anon! Anon, hold on!"
Well I guess I'll stop waiting for it then and just go start Nocturne. After finishing 2 a few weeks back now I decided to wait and see if the If... the translation would finish sometime soon and play that. My plan was to pretty much play the SMT games in the order they were released, especially since there's If... and Soul Hackers cameos in the earlier Persona games apparently and I really liked this little timeline someone put together.
Where would SMT IV fall into? After Strange Journey I assume? But since it's not going to be out any time soon, I don't think I want to keep waiting.
