>Why is this game so boring? Its all fetch quests and irrelevant stuff.
Let me guess, you're in the Hinterlands.
Optional stuff is optional, you're making it boring yourself. You can go back to any discovered location at any time, go do the story missions or unlock different areas. The game doesnt even truly begin until you reach the Skyhold.
It's an old meme from /meg/.
It means a character who loves your player character most.
/dag/, I need your wisdom.
In terms of how romantic and/or in depth it is, between Solas and Dorian, who has the better romance?
I haven't gotten very far, so I'm not sure, but people keep implying Solas is really important to the plot, so I don't know if that would make his romance better or if it's unaffected.
Also, do you actually have sex with Solas? He doesn't seem like the sex type to me.
Well, if your playing anything but Mistress Lavellan you will not be romancing Solas. If you are playing the Lady of the Dales, or any lady, you wont be romancing Dorian.
Besides, Cullen is the
Solas is the most interesting one. But no sex scene. Implied sex is there, just no actual boning scene. Dorian is a pretty standard Bioware romance.
>These are my issues
>Thanks for helping me deal with my issues
solas is female exclusive, dorian male, so if you already started you don't have much of a choice.
it's implied you have sex with solas, but it isn't shown.
I dislike dorian's romance and character because it's too focused on gayness, there's just more interested stories to tell in a world of magic and dragons than my dad hates me because I'm gay, I'm so opressed. like solas' story, now there's taking the full advantages of the universe you set up.
tier 3 schematics and dragon materials, tier 3 hidden blades for masterwork
it was reforged from some shards of an ancient elven blade I collected in some elven temple that was opened after I studied some runes I found in another zone, took like 2 or 3 wartable missions to get the zone unlocked
Which has a more fulfilling storyline, siding with the mages or the Templars?
I met up with the mages in Redcliffe and it's tempting to fuck with someone from the Tevinter Empire but I don't want miss siding with the Templars if their mission is more interesting.
I know, it's a fucking joke
he has it so great, he's not even forbidden from being gay and acting on it for the most part. he could've married a woman, stuck it in her a few times till she gets pregnant, and live out his gayness otherwise. it's not ideal obviously, but it's no worse than what most people in thedas have to go through. I mean, brosca's sister in origins had to whore for a living, city elf origin has the first wedding night rape story, isabela was sold into marriage, fenris was raped, zevran was groomed to fuck people amongs other things, is this really the tragic fate that deserves our attention?
Well, if she played the game she would understand that TopLel says the Ferelden Wardens go missing and that's what prompts her to find out that the Orlesians have as well.
Why do I feel pity for EYM?
Calperniaback to the light.
Although pic related was pretty cool
the quest chain for it start near Drakon tower by the rift closest to the cliff it's a small camp there are two, it's left of the one that's closest to the tower in Lion snow zone
looks amazing too with glowing runes
Cadash is truly the best Inquisitor.
from the same "dog" vendor in hissing wastes canyon that you get all the high level goodies
Cole: I didn't know there were spirits of wisdom.
Solas: There are few. Spirits form as a reflection of this world and its passions. We will never lack for spirits of rage, or hunger, or desire. The world gives them plenty to mirror.
Solas: The gentler spirits are far more rare. We can ill afford the loss of even one spirit of wisdom, or faith... or compassion.
Cole: I will try not to die.
Solas: Do that, please.
Why is Cole the best party member?
>Finally get to Skyhold
>Forgot what triggers the Specialization War Table mission
>Fuck it, send everyone away, might as well trigger it later
>10 minutes of Crestwood
>Back in Skyhold, mission is available
>Need toplel to finish that mission and she is away on a 10 hour mission
Whelp. Typical toplel fuckery.
Sera is so cute as long as she keeps her mouth shut.
of course she knows, she has no life outside of bitching how oppressed she is by everything on the internet, this is vindication to her, proof of how much people hate her because they're racists, homophobes, misogynists. of course, it has nothing to do with her and her own charming personality...
I don't know much about EYM except what is occasionally quoted in this thread but, what nationality/skin color is she that she is screaming about racism way more than sexism? Also, what gender does she self identify with?
t-thanks anon, I always knew I was cutsies deep down insides
she's not that ignorant or stupid really. she's just emotionally fucked up completely. the gist of what she says usually makes at least some sense, it's just that she makes a huge deal out of every little thing.
everything is always the worst oppressive transgression possible, it's never just "yeah this is a minor thing, but it would've been better if they did it differently"
The title Dragon Age is fucking oppressive. Just because it features Dragons shouldn't mean it should be called Dragon Age. I demand the title changed to Fennec Age. Fennecs are always oppressed and seen as nothing more than meat and sexy skin. EQUALITY FOR FENNECS!
Just got to Skyhold. About to spec into being a Templar but I'm unsure about re-rolling to be some kinda Rogue.
I'm fine with all the warrior companions, Dorian and Solas are okay, but Varric seemingly does fuck-all and Sera/Cole I just can't stand.
Are the rogue specialisations any fun? More fun than Templar?
solas looks so angry and evil most of the time
yeah, her ships are so shit. I don't mind ot3, but please, make make them make some sense.
shepard/garrus/tali? ok, great, I can see that. shepard/garrus/thane? what the fuck. just make 2 shepards if you find them both attractive. for that ot3 to work, you have to get them so ooc, it's like different people with their names
>clear out massive bloodmage operation in denerim in that one house
>also fight that one tevinter bloodmage who had the deal with the throne
>at the same time Loghain went completely off the rails
I can't help but wonder if bloodmagic was semi-responsible for some of his decisions post-Ostagar.
I just don't feel like the whole thing is worth my time. both he and the story nudge you to take his problems seriously, but his problem isn't serious compared to what goes on in the world around him.
it's like when a chubby girl complains about being fat to her fat friend, yeah, being chubby isn't easy either, but really...
not yet. I think they're cautious not to announce anything too soon, they don't want any accusations that they removed content from the game and sold it as dlc again.
it should be about flemeth/solas, whoever survived there.
Artificer Archer is my shill pet, but Templar is the bomb.
Alas, no Templar Battmaster is so much better in almost everyway, so I never bothered to git gud at it.
>sigh i have a lot of thoughts that i can’t verbalize right now wrt sera, dorian, the da:i storyline in general, but i’m also not done with the game so like i’m in that weird place where i don’t want to say shit just yet but i also have opinions that need to get down lmao
>so instead i’ll just leave this:
>characters are crafted. stories are crafted. everything you put in a story is a conscious decision, a conscious choice, even if plenty of writers and artists like to pretend there’s some mysticism to how writing or art works.
>this is why i find “but canon!” or “but it’s realistic!” to be completely bullshit excuses for like just about anything in fiction. and also i’m very sorry but saying “canon” or “realism” as the reason for why something problematic should exist in your fiction is never ever good. it makes you look thoughtless and ignorant at best, offensive at worst.
>the characters you make, who they are and what they say, are all conscious decisions. the world and its rules are all conscious decisions. the lore/”canon” are conscious decisions, not unchangeable laws that must absolutely be adhered to. because its a work of fucking fiction and you made the rules up okay. there should be some logical train of thought and consistency in how things run—because nothing loses your audience faster, and upsets them, than the lack of consistency—but for the most part anything goes.
>that’s why when it comes to characters who are written to be offensive, when it comes to writing in issues such as sexism or racism in your world’s setting, you really really need to THINK about WHY you want that in your world or why you want your character to be that way. because it cannot exist in your fiction unless you want it to be there. and when you deal with anything problematic you really need to be extra careful. if you don’t handle it correctly, you might be doing nothing more than reinforcing or justifying problematic oppressive views or actions. stories do have power after all.
>basically, in short, it’s going to be interesting to hear some of the justifications for the writing team’s decisions in da:i, should they ever decide to weigh in on it. because there are some things i honestly have to ask why they even thought it was a good idea to include.
That's a clear example that tumblr doesn't know wtf they're talking about
>tfw feminist tumblrina friend discovers that DAI is out
>she don't know anything about the game
>rolled a strong independent female inquisitor
>wow, Cass looks hot! And I can flirt with her!
>And that cutie Dorian hot too! Wow, I can flirt with him!
Cass is truly the moste.
Yeah I was disappointed by the lack of halla mounts at first but the hart has grown on me
Does she really think people need to justify their decisions to her?
JFC it's like she doesn't even realize she's advocating censorship.
"If it's offfensive it can't be on the shelf" someone give that bitch Fahrenheit 451.
I don't think that's it, but it's more that BW should think about author intention and reader reception, especially when they want to be LGBT friendly.
Basically, if you write shitheads to be shitheads check if you're not attracting shitheads. Like Moore wrote Rohrshach to be disgusting yet many idolize that psychopath.
Go damn I wanna replay as a female elf mage since it has the most content but I just finished a playthrough as a male human KE and I don't want it to be too samey but the other Mage specializations don't interest me.
Isn't pretending bad stuff doesn't exist much worse than including it?
Having racism, rape etc in a game and acting like it's ok, like it's the natural state of the world - that's bad, but no one does that. Actually some people can go their whole lives without realizing racism and sexism and stuff like this can open their eyes to it.
Trying to control anything "problematic" is fine by you? Don't you think it's weird Sera straight killing someone, that *we*(the player and character) know nothing about, is ok by tumblr but conscious sexism and internalized racism is going too far? In a character that had no education whatsoever, grewn up in misery and was clearly abused* by the system?
They don't want any kind of conflict to exist. They don't want to see any resemblance of the dirtness of our world reflected on fiction. Because that is "problematic".
I, too, complain when I think something is problematic, let's say, sexist without need (TW1 cards).
But these people, they promote the erasure of freedom, in the name of the political correct.
*abuse isn't classified as only sexual. Neglect, violence, hunger are all forms of abuse.
His problem is mostly a byproduct of the dysfunctional Tevinter politics, which have also given us the Venatori, blood mages and other such wondrous things. He has just cause.
I'd say having your father reject you and intend to sunder your mind for an absurd reason is a little more tragic than complaining about being chubby.
I wouldn't call that sexist exactly. immature, yes. More fit to eroge and not a serious game, too. Unnecessary, definitly. But sexist? Would you say the same if the situation was reversed? Cards with half-naked or more naked guys after sexing them?
Just do the opposite of what you did last time. Pick Mages first time? Pick Templars this time. Fuck Cass? Be a complete dick to her.
Just mix it up and try speccing your party different.
I probably don't know what i'm talkin about too, but:
Stories, characters, etc., "crafted" to be realistic and appeal for the audience. Not to force some agenda, no matter how good this agenda is. Video games is not a folklore fables that was used to pass free from man to man in form of telling stories. It's a commercial product, and people want something more or less realistic, not a world where shitton of races magically forgot what racism is.
Story about how racism\sexism\etc bad won't sell. Good story will sell. Story that solely relies on "we are so against racism, racism is so bad" is not a good story.
tl;dr: it's all about monies.
Just because few thousands liberal-oriented tumbrinas is think that it's okay to create fictions without racism\sexism\etc, doesn't change the fact that rest of the world(like, 99%) is still dealing with those issues on daily basis. And it won't magically go away if you erase it from your writing. Videogames and any kind of commercial stories awlays relfect society that created them, when there will be no racism at all in whole world - games won't contain any racism.
Also, everything here: >>87807401 especially part about conflict.
this person seems to be saying that you should be aware of all the variables and implications if you do choose to write about the bad stuff. like, write it consciously, with the fullest possible awareness of what you're writing and what implications it carries.
there's people on tumblr who argue that there shouldn't be anything bad in fantasy because it should be for escapism from the bad stuff in real world, but those people are a minority and they're dumb.
they never said they need to justify themselves to her, they said IF they wanted to explain things, she'd be interested in knowing why they did certain things.
anyway, whether writers have a social responsibility re what they write is a huge question, it's not as simple as "she's advocating censorship" (and censorship is bad). this is like one of the classic questions of fiction since plato's republic, and it's very very central today.
Reminder that you don't deserve your waifu or fagbando if you aren't whiteknighting her/him on 4chan and YouTube's comment section
yeah, old Cory's voice was better.
It's not the same and you know it. Our society sees women as objects, and the TW1 card system was reinforcing it to players.
I also wouldn't like it with a male version, with the game setting it would've been another kind of sexism. But I'm stopping here, bc this is the DAG thread and I only used TW as an ex.
>Well look who finally came out of his quarters. What are you doing up there all the time, Inquisitor?
>mfw Cory's DA2 voice in German was the coroner from NCIS
>whenever Cory's in the house I can't help but think of that nasal old geezer voice screaming "GEPRIESEN SEI DUMAT"
>ruins every hint of dramatic tension
I don't know about that since they don't really have same role. Pudge is a mid number 1 position and Batrider is hard lane number 2/3 position but you definitely see more bat the higher your MMR goes . a Pudge messing up is much worse that a batrider messing up..
I don't see where this person is arguing what you think they are.
>Not to force some agenda, no matter how good this agenda is.
agenda just means that you did what you did purposefully to do just that.
maybe not all fiction has an agenda, but all of it does something, all fiction is written from some perspective, it's just a question of how aware the writers are of what their own perspective and its implications are.
when people talk about this, they just mean that writers should ask temselves why they wrote something the way they did more often.
there's a lot of writers who do have an agenda, say, gaider and bw in general always say they want to be progressive. it's just that they don't have a full enough awareness to be trully progressive. if they thought deeper about what they're writing, they would've been aware of certain implications of their writing, and could've changed it if they wished.
for example, gaider said he didn't realize how offensive the portrail of trans women in dao and da2 would be to people, if he thought about it more carefully, he would've realized that without having to be told, and with that realization make an informed decision whether to write them the way they were written, or change the script.

I have always had the biggest fucking boner for
Kate Mulgrewsince Mrs. Columboand Star Trek Voyager.
I know Bioware wanted to make Dwarves more relevant than just "Small people who like to dig" but they fucked up too hard and just made them into small humans.
The 3 main races is DA should be humans, Elves and Qunari.
Why is there no mention of Zevran? I thought him becoming the head of the Crows is a pretty big fucking deal and Josie would at least mention him, not to forget that Leliana is your spymaster and she has an opportunity to use their connection.
This questioning is counter productive and a way to dismiss someone's work, without outright saying it.
It's very obvious what this tumblerina is babbling about. I don't like it, why is it there?
Why doesn't she try to analyze the character instead, huh?
There is a reason for Sera to exist. She is our first real city elf companion. Zevran was a crow first, suffered abuse, yes, but was trained to be an assassin. He was educated and fed.
Sera was left for the flies. We also know how bad she had it. Tevinter /mages/ abducting people, a haunted orphanage, women getting raped by nobles. No wonder she doesn't remember the blight. Her life was shaped by misery&violence, death on her door was monday.
She is the true alienage's child, a living reminder to players and, duh duh, Solas. That's what he created.
It's really good, actually, I was surprised that he wasn't intended as an LI originally, because it's definitely better than Frauswell and seems more complete than bull's.
But then again, depends on your definition of boring, I guess. I mean, he doesn't fuck and duck like Fraudwell does, for example.
you're already playing a KE, you could be playing on nightmare and you'd still be OP. put their abilities into their most useless trees and it wont be a difference, or y'know, try their specialities a bit and whatever works best with it.
I don't think that's what she's saying, but ok, I don't have anything to say on what I think she's saying aside from I already did.
I agree about sera, I think she was clumsily written, but I do like that the gist of her character was what it was. I talked about most of what you said about her yesterday in dag.
>That's what he created.
there's a bit of banter I interpreted along those lines, where he says something like, you're the furtherest away from what you were supposed to be.
So is there any way for your quarters in Skyhold to be fixed up like the rest of the castle? I've already done Adamant fortress and the ball, so all the scaffolding is gone from outside and the judgement hall, but my quarters still have torn up rugs and floorboards lying around, not to mention there's still things under sheets and scaffolding in the tower part.
Do these go away or is all this crap stuck here?
There is a War Table quest where You are hunting Tevinter Mage with Crow Agents.
Zevran accidentally kill your Crow agents, so he help you kill the Mage instead but then you have to cover for his escape.
you guys have shit taste in tavern songs
posting the best one
So for a human male, what are the best romances?
Any worthwhile or should I not even bother with them?
Mages have a better plotline, but this is BioWare, so go Templar for the writers actually playing to their strengths instead of making a joke of "being different".
Solas' is heartbreaking good, has greatly animated scenes and voice acting.
I never cared much for romance (Warden and Hawke are single), but he did things for me. It's my favorite video game romance.
Mage story is ridiculous and mages are idiots.
>Hur we want freedum so we sold ourselves as slaves to Tevinter
I'd go with templars. They're dumb too, but it's less jarring and their plot doesn't introduce shit that could break the story for you.
On a scale of 1 to "kill yourself" how sad is it I have a crush on asunderchan's Lavellan? Probably more than any real characters? She talks about him on tumblr and he just sounds so comfy + those DSL mang.
if you like sera, her sex scene is adorable, light and fun. can't believe I'm near suggesting someone not to pick solas, but if you're not that into heartbreak and star-crossed, bitter-sweet love, you might want to go with sera after all.
Why, why wont it stop crashing?! Whyyyyy? I've done everything, EVERYTHING.
That's a rather huge bear
>One day the magic will come back.
>All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. >The shadows will part and the skies will open wide.
>When he rises, everyone will see.
The wolf will try to get rid of the veil.
But that's just Dorian in this game.
>implying daddy issues like something bad
>Everyone seems to love Solas
He was a total cunt in my playthrough, he never agreed with anything I did, even when I put an Elf in control of Orlais he just whined.
Punching him in the face was the only highlight of his conversations.
He disapproved of some of my big actions, but never hated me. Being a nerd and a free thinker, he enjoyed everytime I questioned him or simply asked questions.
>some weapons drop with corruption runes
>oh neat, free runes
>enter combat, weapons start glowing red ominously, red wisps/smoke
>after watting, take an actual look at the runes, RED LYRIUM
Uh..a significant amount of gametime is about how red lyrium is terrible, and you can just just have everyone in your party running around with it? With no repercussions?
Has you turn off origin in game? On origins options *and* on the propriety of the game (right click the game icon in origin).
Don't run DAI with ANY application. Rapt, Fraps, Steam. Utorrent, etc etc. Just your game and origin are needed.
You can take shots in game with prtscn
Being a man-child was 'Alibear's' real problem IMO. Unhardened Alistair at Landsmeet... how can anyone tolerate it?
(God damn it I can't find the 'betrayed Alistair naked at landsmeet gif)
>someone thought this sword was a good idea
>and someone else probably approved it
What does your character have under their armour if you remove all clothing? Also, can someone take a screenshot of a dwarf female with whatever undergarment they have? I require it for research and other totally respectable reasons.
No, but it's not much of an excuse.
>Hey guys, how about we, I don't know, indebt ourselves to Teviner?
>Y-you know, they're umm mages, so we're really the same when you think about it
>How bad c-can it be?
Correct response to that it
>You're an idiot
>Does anyone even know this clown?
Unless blood magic was involved, there is no excuse for that course of action.
> You will never have a nice family time with Morrigan and the superchild, being overly protective about her all the time while she is acting all tsundere about it but is smiling on the inside
This is no life, this is torture
Anyone remember Awakening Anders saying he thinks Tevinter might be right, or the fact that Wynn travels to Tevinter in one of the Origins epilogue cards? lol
Apparently mages think only non mages have it bad in Tevinter. They're just going to go there and the ruling class are going to be like 'OMG, you're a MAGE?! You are SO special and powerful! Here, let us give you a title and land!'
>ALL magic is dangerous, ALL magic is corruptible, and yet ALL magic can serve.
TEMPLAR STRONK OUR BLOOD MAGIC BEFORE THEIRS
Idk about the romance but if you had a female mage warden you can ask him about it at some point. He says he had an infatuation with her and regrets the things he said to her while he was trapped in the tower
I decided to help the mages in my second playthrough, but everything they did during this quest annoyed the hell out of me. They abused Alistair's hospitality, invited a Tevinter mage, covered in the corner the whole misiion instead of helping you and then Fiona just plays dumb and doesn't own up to everything that happened.
Then we got to Skyhold and the mages had the gall to complain that they didn't like their living quarters. At that point I said fuck you and reloaded an earlier save to support the templars again.
The game is fucking gorgeous. Bioware got it right by separating the game on big regions, you really feel like you've travelled to another area. The deserts are to die for, they done it so fucking right
He whined about the fade too much so I ignored him the entire game, right before the final boss I spoke to him and he started ranting about all my choices.
I certainly played the good guy the entire game but supported the orders when possible, I reunited the Empress with her elf lover, I saved the Templars and the Wardens. The only thing I would consider bad was leaving Hawke to die but he deserved it for causing DA2.
AUDIO BUG FIX!
AUDIO BUG FIX!
tl;dr: Fast travel out of Skyhold War Room. Check Val Royeaux to confirm
It's too bad you can't see any of it with how retarded the camera in the game works.
No. And that's why BioWare "choice" is so arbitrary.
>The only representative and "leader" of the mages is a irreplaceable shit and you can't find any good-natured(or at least those who attempt at it) characters there.
>Templars are massive hypocrites who'd use Blood Magic at the drop of a hat if they had some super version of it that was immune to other Blood Magics and only they could use it.
Just pick the set of fuckups who you want to see involved when shit goes down, since it will, because this is BioWare and you won't be "saving" anyone, just pushing shit down the line.
>Hawke to die but he deserved it for causing DA2.
Varric and his brother would have gone on the expedition regardless, and just gotten someone else to throw in the money and muscle. the qunari conflict was almost entirely instigated by sister patricia. anders blows up the chantry even without Hawke's help. Orsino and Meredith probably would have killed each other if Hawke didn't cull them each first. hawke isn't the one who built a city in the shape of a blood magic rune array and then used a lake's worth of slave's blood to try and C4 God's gates open, permanently thinning the veil in the entire area.
We're talking about Cullen.
But if you're referring to why Alistair allowed the rebel mages into Ferelden even if the Warden wasn't a mage, I'd say it's probably because he had Wynne as an advisor and even in the game you could tell that he saw her as a motherly figure - more so since she was the first motherly figure in his life. I'm not surprised he's kind to mages after that.
On another note, I have no idea why Anora does the same thing in his place, because that makes no sense whatsoever.
I'm not talking lorewise, I just disliked DA2 and killing him off made me feel better. He was also being a dick towards the Wardens and hating on mages, he got what he deserved.
Hawke did nothing wrong, she tried to save a sunking city while making money to improve her family situation.
And you're wrong. Varric and his retarded Bianca Mary Shepard Sue were to blame for the biggest problem, red lyrium. You can also put the blame on Varric for Anders, since he wanted Ander's knowledge
>Solas have little fangs
Any tips on downing the frostback in Shayna's Valley? It feels like a stupidly cheap encounter that is almost always sabotaged by tragically poor AI. As a level 12, the only problems I encounter are with AI standing in AoEs and the adds stage.
Whoever thought that adds in a boss encounter should be non-CC-able should have their heads checked.
it's a postmodern statement on the illusive nature of the player's significance within video game narratives.
So I made a straight female dorf. I only have Blackwalll and IB as romance options, correct? More than asking which to pick, I want to know if there is any difference in the amount of content each option has.
Man, I wish Cullen wasn't such a picky spaghettilord
and there are different body-types for men aswell. getting musculature like that is REALLY unlikely and really difficult. You need really low bodyfat and have good skeletal structure. Some guys just put on weight as muscle when they work out while others get all fit n shit.
Point is, Feminists are shit. Good thing most of them arent hot.
Templars are real bros in this situation. Sure, it was stupid of them to blindly follow orders, but then again that's pretty common for military organizations. Even so, they do start suspecting something, and the moment they realize they've been infiltrated, they actively take part in the fight. And if you decide to help the Order rebuild, they truly live up to their potential, helping those in need. It's a pretty colossal thing that in a quest where they are sent to kill off mages, they end up saving them instead because instead of blindly marching in they actually analyzed the situation and realized the mages weren't guilty of anything. Same with the random mage who was about to get executed as a Venatori. The templars go to the execution site and save the guy once they realize he himself just recently discovered he was a mage.
On top of that, choosing between Fiona or ser Barris as an ally? Barris every time. He's bro tier.
if you're not careful you'll wear out that dartboard of buzzwords sampled from the memebase most popular searches today list, then you'll have no choice but to go back to clown college
We don't see them, no. Perhaps for the best, especially the Wardens.
They talk about them, though. Templar Carver left the order and is working as a city guard. Hawke made Aveline take him out of Kirkwall when shit start to go crazy.
Mages are the worst people on thedas and deserve more than just harsh words.
Literally every mage that has come to power eventually resorted to blood magic or was just a dick.
Orsino - Harvestered even if you supported him against meredith.
Anders - blew up children.
Uldred - killed hundreds, tried to unleash demons n shit on ferelden.
Tevinter - enslaved everyone not a mage and do horrifying experiments on their slaves.
Mages, left to their own devices have always done evil or have succumbed to demonic influence.
Remember, all it took was 1 demon possessing a little boy with no significant powers to bring Redcliff to its knees.
FUCK ALL MAGES.
Grey Wardens? The fuck are they even doing anymore, theres only the based ferelden Warden that seems to actually do anything of value while the others just sit around thumbing their own asses.
I just can't get over the shoulder pads sewn onto the outside seem of the sleeve... what the fuck is that even supposed to be?
I wish the shops in cities had different cloths and accessories you and your companions could buy and wear around Skyhold. Would make travel feel more real, and would add to customization.
the difference is that in things such as videogames, the impossible beauty standards for women are being pushed on women by men, the impossible body standards for men are being pushed on men by men.
basically, you're doing it to yourselves.
although that's historically speaking, in recent years more guys are being made to cater to women's preferences. da is full of those, for example.
Uh, no. You got that wrong. Men don't push "impossible standards" for woman in video games. Men cater to their primary audience and provide fap fodder.
At least that's how it was done in 80's. Nowadays some video games cater to woman.
Why is Knight Enchanter OP? I tried it out for a while (I made a save), and while I could sometimes keep my barrier up even while being hit, it wasn't "godmode never take damage on nightmare", in hard fights at least (I was playing on hard).
Am I a baddie?
You can still see their skincolor is more or less the same. Whatever though, is this better?
Templars owned up to their mistakes and in the first place Corypheous is a MAGE who used blood magic to control/influence their leaders into using it.
Even if templars were doing something bad on red lyrium, its still Cory influencing them through bloodmagic (the magic that can control people) while Mages seem to always be the ones who do horrifyingly evil deeds on their own.
List of mages that werent completely evil:
List of mages that were evil:
Morrigan(dont try to deny it, she wanted you to kill the children in the circle because they couldnt defend themselves from templars), Uldred, Anders, Jowan(blood mage), Orsino(Harvester), Irvine(framed an innocent nun to help someone he knew to be a bloodmage in order to get her sent to prison), Cory, Tevinter(the whole nation of mages who enslave everyone who isnt a mage), Connor(killed hundreds, if not thousands with the undead army he had), Zathrian (curses innocents aswell as the guilty into becoming mindless beasts aswell as their future offspring)
Solas (gave Cory the orb, caused all the deaths of DA:I)
i could go on but im probably reaching the character limit.
have you noticed all those classical painting of fat women? the beauty ideal isn't something we just happen to have, it's something that shapes with and through society and changes with it.
pushing anything isn't literally coming to your house and throwing it at you, what it means is continually presenting it over other alternatives.
You think this is brown and tell me I'm color blind?
>finish the mess
Finish it? I admit I'm not a writer, but the amount of content in it couldn't have taken long to write. Considering its overall quality, I wouldn't be surprised if it was knocked out in one afternoon.
oh please thats a phallacy:
Only men work in the publishing industry! therefor its only men that are pushing these standards on other men! Women are just innocent bystanders!
go fuck yourself you insincere or just moronic bitch.
Hey /dag/! Come check out the latest episode of my Inquisition blind playthrough!
It's my first Dragon Age game, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I haven't had this much fun with computer RPGs since Baldur's Gate II.
>yfw you heard that Kirkwall theme when Hawke appeared
I never realized how much I missed Hawke.
And I thought
sacrificing her so Broghain could live would be easy
even if they think only men will see it, they're still presenting it to them, who will finish the game at some point and reenter the real world, where they'll come back with views shaped by that game and present those same views back to women.
this is obviously an oversimplification, but I don't know how else to get my point across: every society has certain norms, in every society those who step out of those norms aren't treated that well, in every society something becomes a norm by being regularly presented over its alternatives to the members of that society.
You can really see Helpers hand in writing this.
Cass is: A warrior/templar who excels at what traditionally is viewed as a "male" activity/occupation.
Ontop of being a good warrior, shes also an apt diplomat but still seems to have time to look good.
Even tho she is incredibly awesome and successful her family hates her for no apparent reason.
Even tho shes really strong, independent, successful, killed dragons, humble, she secretly loves romance novels (smut) and poetry and has only ever slept with 1 man.
I mean come on... I shudder to think what she was like before Gaider took over writing for her. But i believe even as bad as Gaider is on some aspects, he probably saved us from FemAnders: Inquisition.
I worked on her face for more than one hour and her introduction and play in DAI gave me the feels. My plain, ugly darling girl deserved better. She is almost 40, too. Let her rest in peace, BW
Everything was brown in that game except for hair and blood spatter. Literally. Brown, and slightly blurry, like we're looking at the unfinished assets through a camera lens smeared with Vaseline and shit in a candle lit room.
They wanted to marry her off or something, she basically hates her family.
Or it might be "fake hate" but thats the overall impression i got from talking to Josephine and Cass and the banter.
They wanted to marry her off, she didnt want to and Josephine thins Cassandra wouldnt really mind if we destroyed her family.
Your perceptions are broken by the info in this game, if you'd pay a bit of attention. It's Orlais with their nobility bullshit concentrated on mage families. Not all non mages are enslaved by default , and mages aren't guaranteed move on up.
every part of this post is terrible
There were definitely useless children and scholars among the mages you kill in DA:O and DA:I(Templar side); this is at least said. There's nothing told or shown about anyone being involved in the actual moment of the Chantry explosion besides Elthina and her set of politicking shits. Maybe brats died with all the rioting afterward, who cares it's Dragon Age. People die left and right and you're not supposed to examine every random fall into a door.
Most of them are slavers, and all it takes is most of them. Hell all it takes is for 1 small child to be possessed and he can raise an army of the undead to besiege a city (Redcliff)
She was straight up evil until the Warden started having a softening influence on her. She bitches at you for helping a child, she bitches at you for being religious, she bitches at you for NOT killing the children in the mages circle.
Im not really surprised, all she had to go on for guidance until the Warden showed up was an ancient demon possessed mage god monster who ate children (according to legends)
