Forbidden love edition
SPOILERS BE HERE
Look ma, it's a pastebin
You use this website for saves, choices, importing and everything.
And no, it doesnt matter if you own the previous games or not, you just need to own the DA:I and an Origin account for it to work.
>Explanation on how spell/skill combos work:
(VERY USEFUL) or not if you're any good at the game
>Maps of the locations:
Same time as crack
>Where is my warden?
Off being a murderknifing badass.
This is the new pasta. So say we all.
Eyes always look so sad
Is there a way to tweak eyebrows not to be always so sad looking?
To be honest, I don't know how you guys keep getting sad eyebrows. You can adjust it in brow settings and eye rotation+size. You also have to pick eyebrows that aren't sad to begin with.
pic related. The different presets are all unique too, so you won't be able to recreate the same face across all presets. Try a different one maybe.
DA:O mod question
I remember a mod that let you put the stats from one armour on to another so if you liked the look of an armour you could keep it and just upgrade it that way, but now I can't find that mod anywhere and don't remember what it was called. Anyone know what I'm talking about/can help me out?
Trust me, I never asked for this
Anyone else see the elves destroying themselves instead of Tevinter doing it as uplifting instead of putting them down? Like they weren't as weak as history had portrayed them?
That's okay. I'm on xbox so literally any other hair color looks like my head is glowing. I'm talking about my experience in CC and the one PC that I did take a picture of. She doesn't have sad eyebrows. Anon is asking for help.
Pretty sure they did, hell the "golden city" in the fade is probably what happened to Arlathan, and it probably happened when they created the veil and separated the fade from the physical realm.
too bad nigger, I'm here to stay. Keep crying about your sister elves all you want.
So I'm hearing Varric is like the worst companion now in his default spec (archer + artificier). Should he become my dagger dwarf? I was thinking of respecing sera for dagger/tempest instead.
Is anyone doing slider requests? I really want a templar like this.
You guys request modders?
Never played Dragon Age but I've modded Morrowind and Skyrim extensively.
I'm going to
keep a personal harem of Josephine, Leliana, Vivienne, Harding, andCassandra!
Sera wrecks shit with daggers. Give her the cowl of the overseer hat for extra cuteness.
The problem really is that the character creator doesn't show emotions that face is going to display after it is done.
So you never get to see how the face countours and actually behaves ingame
Is that thing flirting with me?
MAKE IT STOP, GET IT OFF MEEEE
Varric's not as bad as everyone says, but he is worst rogue (and arguably worst companion) simply because if you want to keep him with Bianca the spec is suboptimal, whereas even an archer/tempest sera will do better and you can spec everyone else into something appropriately OP thanks to their lack of unique weapon preference.
That said, he's fine as a standard companion on sub-nightmare difficulty. you can take up the slack by micromanaging him or whatever. Smartest move if you're min-maxing is to spec him as a dagger rogue and actually make use of the artificier's specialties, but whatever.
>mfw eym on my
If they find BioWare so problematic, stop giving they money
I remember seeing Cole without hat for the first time and wondering why the fuck does his hair look so weird
But now I realize that bioware literally made his hair collapse in itself so it wouldn't clip with his hat
ah makes sense then, nothing lost then
>see this picture
>go back into game, fast travel
>leashed the templars (which she disapproved of)
>let Celene rule
>have a high approval with her
Am I on the right way of making her the next Divine?
Looks like Cass has lost some weight.
If you've been yes-manning her all game with regards to her politics, and discourage Lel/Cass, you'll probably make it
You'll eventually get a conversation with her post-Halamshiral about the Divine issue, where you can point out she'd be a perfect candidate. With Nobility Knowledge you can encourage her further. I don't know if that last bit is a requirement for it, but then you get a War Table mission to support her.
My friends and I used to say OC back in the early 1990s in reference to our own characters. I didn't really start seeing PC until the 2000s. Albeit it doesn't matter, they're both freely interchangeable.
But yeah, I'd say OC/PC is more nerd culture than it is tumblr culture.
> ultimate girl just left
> suddenly josephine comes and flirts with you
life is cruel, anon. take what you can get.
>tfw reading a fic about mage f!Trevalyen telling Cullen about how much she
You're right, Josie is way above 7
Anyone know if you can delete playthroughs from the Keep?
I have these 2 playthroughs that are apparently male human rogues, which I haven't played as at all. Also both Inquisitors are apparently unnamed.
I haven't got any saves in game of that nature, and I want to remove them from the Keep.
It's unfortunate that Sera couldn't have been some type of "intelligent" anarchist. Maybe instead of being there for hijinks she was slowly starting to win over the hearts and minds of your followers and you'd have to deal with that. You could have to judge her in the aftermath of putting down a rebellion. Hell killing her might make her some sort of martyr. I dunno seems like a wasted opportunity.
Also, sorry josefags, but her saying that the winter palace was more dangerous than staring down Corypheus pissed me off to no end. At least there should've been a follow up where you could tell her off about how ignorant she was. Talk about ivory tower shit.
I think it would've been better if Blackwall was actually a joined warden, but for some reason he didn't link up with the rest of the wardens on account of some sort of guilt complex. Hell the assumed name would still work too. He could've gone and tried his whole redemption thing too. The real meat would be that you'd have to find a way to prevent Corypheus from possessing him. And learn more about the based wardens.
> In a game with Morrigan in it, the best you can get is a genetic failure of a dwarf, a horseface, a hardcore lesbian, a smelly homeless brat that can't even speak english and Skunk Anansie
It's like they really want you to suffer
No, it basically all plays out the same way, though you get one or two scenes with weirdass voices in your character's head.
Technically you're bound to Flemeth, and she makes you stop Morrigan from attacking her in the Kieran fade sequence, but that means fuck all in the end.
Probably a DLC thing.
wow, corypheus has to be one of the most impotent and bumbling villains of all time
>witness the power of a true god!
>proceeds to get blown up by the magic pillars guarding the temple
>shows up to the well 30 seconds after its gone
>smashes his head into the mirror like an idiot
>yfw we won't get to play as a proper dwarf anytime soon
You mean Corypheus was gonna have sex with the Divine but the quiz got some first? Because that's what cuckolding implies. This is also a hilarious thought
Learn the fucking word.
>Inquisitor goes to ask Cass out for a romantic evening
>Hawke flies in on his dragon and says "hey babe, I heard you like it hot" *Dragon breathes fire*
>Cass flies off with Hawke
>Inquisitor's face when
HAWKE BLOCKED AYYY LMAO
>Trusting elves in the DA universe
At a recent talk, BW openly said Frostbyte is the worst fucking engine for actual RPG stuff. It was able to make things look pretty but they spent a great deal of their development time making stat-ups, the ability to quick save and manual save at all, leveling up in the field, and so on actually be able to work.
I know, they'd to work hard on it. I believe BF team even credited BW for something in BF4.
Eclipse was outdated when DAO/DA2 was released, though. Can you imagine Ostagar in all its glory?
Explain post-credits scene to me pls.
Was Mythal bound to the orb or something? Is this why she's now ded and Solas was so broken up about everything?
their games would have 400% more content if they stopped pushing for quasi-photorealism.
It's not even a good investment. color choice, environment/architecture composition, and distinctive character designs are all more efficient at making something aesthetically pleasing.
From what we can piece together:
Solas locked the other god and went to sleep. Mythal was already dead by that time. When he woken up he saw his plan backfired and the people were worse than before, but he he was too weak to use his orb. Blah, blah, broken orb backfired again dead wolf you're a failure. So he went to Mythal to acquire her power so he can achieve his plan of restoring the old gods and probably removing the veil.
See you next dlc/game.
Most zones were on point, only Skyhold was a somewhat boring generic castle. Story zones are brilliant, dat fade, dat Redcliffe castle, dat temple.
Nah, man, I get what you probably meant.
Walking fortress is amazing. I'd be hardpressed to not pick that up on a non-champion warrior.
Guard on hit would be better for ranged characters, since you rarely take damage and it can function as a free health pool in the chance you do. Not bad for melee ones, though.
I'm not saying DA:I doesn't have those things, I'm saying they could have included way more areas, quests, and characters if so much time wasn't needed to perfect these high detail character models.
>Hawke customisation CC
>Hawke is stuck in profile
>can't spin him around to work on him face on
>have to attempt to recreate him from the side only
What a weirdly specific bug.
Time to put my sliderfu to the test.
that actually sounds like something purple Hawke would say/do
You know, I completely forgot that there was a "Karras" in DA2 so my mind went in other, terrible directions.
Just imagine that voice man, Karras is creepy enough without thinking about what he'd sound like during sex.
Cole leaving is like an official proof of your inquisitor being a massive edgelord.
>We have a whole new set of items specifically for Qunari to use instead of helmets
>Give Bull a unique helmet.
What the fuck was the point?
My Inquisitor could have had some badass helmets, but instead I have to wear some stupid bright cyan facepaint.
Dumb fucking decision.
>blade of sulevan
>dragon rage on 20% health
>armor with max strangth
>masterwork of 5 hidden blades strikes on hit
>armor penetration amulet, ring and belt
it makes the hard mode trivial. i slaughter most enemies in 1-2 hits. a typical 5 hit combo does well over 15k damage
They should have had an option to play with Hawke as the Inquisitor, or at least recruit him/her as a companion. It's not even like it would be hard to get her to the Conclave. "Scarface McCheekbones kidnapped my friend. I'm here to save him. What's that funny green light?"
Imagine his grunts as he forces his way in you and you can tell he hasn't taken a bath in weeks.
If I make a deal with the ancient elves in the Temple of Mythal to work with them against the templars where the fuck do they go after finishing the mission. Because Morrigan went to the well anyways. I just want to see Abelas again :(
>Sera tries to pull pranks on people in the Inquisition
>Hawke's already pulled even better pranks
>Inquisitor goes to visit Blackwall in prison
>Passes Hawke sharing a laugh with Blackwall---as they're leaving the prison
>Inquisitor finds the guards reading autographed copies of "Tale of The Champion"
I've been so confused during my time with Inquisition.
I just don't know what party to bring with me. I'm a sword and shield warrior (thinking of specializing in templar or champion i dunno). My mages are all different (dorian fire, solas ice and vivienne lighting) and usually i bring Varric, Cassandra and Dorian with me...
How am I supposed to approach this shit?
just pick whomever, really. You don't even have to have a balanced party since in open world you can come back anytime to open that locked door. Some story missions are better with specific companions though.
Here's the ones I posted last thread:
>Inquisitor tries to bring the book to Cass.
>Hawke is reading poetry to her
>Inquisitor debates with Morrigan as to who drinks from the well
>Hawke walks out of the Eluvian with a half dressed Merrill and Isabela, and wades right in
>Inquisitor going to kill a dragon
>Hawke and Iron Bull walk away from the corpse, slap the Quiz on the back, cracking jokes about what a loser the Quiz is.
>Inquisitor gets a letter from the Warden: SHITTY BELT
>Hawke gets a letter from his/her cousin the Warden: PET DRAGON
>Femquisitor tries to romance Cass. Fails
>FemHawke has to fight to keep Cass away from her dragon-kill stealing self
>Inquisitor says he wants to play another game of Wicked Grace
>Varric says he can't because everyone lost all their money to Hawke during a pick up game last night.
Hawke is the most "alive" protagonist out of the three. the least of a blank slate. Also, it's made pretty damn clear that you're Cassandra's second choice for Inquisitor, behind Hawke, and you weren't even on the list until Haven. Also, if Hawke was male, she's kind of obviously crushing on him.
Thanks for reminding me I should sit on my ass and finish SoM.
if you have thousands of gold you could search for vendors to buy high level schematics to craft, or just wear what you find but at least try to find schematics for weapon and armor parts because sometimes the gear you find are lacking some improvement slots
Well, I had a bug with the war table with one of the missions not having any options of appointing it to any of the advisors and that actually got fixed.
But the patch also sort of messed with some of the colors and textures, like my Quiz now has lighter hair than she did and the world around her, or at least the forest I'm in right now looks like an LSD trip with too bright colors.
It improved the smoothness of gameplay substantially on the PS4 so I'm pretty happy. Game runs like melted butter now. No noticeable drop in graphics quality so I'm not sure what they fixed which was causing it.
I loved DAI but this is embarassing, even from you Bioware.
C'mon, are you trying to piss us off after that fucking patch?
Also, the game has 3 choices? Mage/Templar, Hawke/Warden and Drink or not
>none of your companions hit you back
>nobody will ever beat up your Inquisitor
I wish they hadn't dropped the whole "mark is killing you" thing so soon. I like seeing the PC suffer.
Are BOTH the last Caprice coin and shocking scandal locked behind that 5-Halla door? I know the scandal is but I'm at 14/15 coins and can't find the last one.
Wicked Eyes quest, by the way.
>stuck with a veil torch
Not even on reloading the game. It's okay through, he mostly turned out okay. Better than my fist attempt, although his face is kinda flat and I fucked up his nose and now he just looks pissed all the time.
You know, this would've been sad if it wasn't so fucking hilarious. It always amazes me how a community like tumblr, that seems to thrive on everyone being special snowflakes, likes to generalize and demonize certain groups of people as a whole.
In this case templar = evil rapist and murderer even when that's been refuted in-game time and time again.
Anyone else feel bad for Cory? I mean think about it. We were never in danger of losing outside Haven. We stopped every plan of his before omit bore fruit.
We were like that more experienced chess player that just clears you of the field without thinking.
Cory nevet stood a chance man.
>vivienne greatly approves
>sera greatly approves
>tfw sided with the templar
>Dorian threw a bitch fit
>still behaved respectfully towards him
>literally 3 hours later he tells me he considers me his friend
>side with templars
>spec as a templar
>fuck him anyway for that delicious mage-on-templar action
I agree - that's such a missed opportunity. Exploring the effect the mark has on the inquisitor was, in general.
>inquisitor passing out after closing a fade rift
>wakes up at the nearest camp, their LI next to them, worried
>taking something other than herb garden
The rest I can understand, but I seriously hope none of you were retarded enough to make a chantry garden when you coulda made an herb garden.
>not doing it for the shekels
Get a load of this white knight
After Alexius sends you and Dorian into the future, how did he survive getting ganked by your other two dudes, all those Inquisition assassins who had just murdered his guys, and the Fereldan soldiers about to march in?
I'd be mad if you weren't completely right.
I can get the reason for the names for most of the main quests in DA:I, except for "What Pride Had Wrought" where you visit the ruined Temple of Mythal. Are they suggesting pride is what undid the temple and Mythal? Or is it Solas = "Pride" = Fen'Harel?
herb/practice ground/mage tower
I'm going to create the Mage Guild in Skyhold!
Resting bitch face?
Between the face paint and the chest-cam it's hard to take them seriously.
>not mousing over and picking the other choice
Did they change the combat system in this from how it was in the first 2? Does it play more like the Witcher 2 or is it still skill bars where basic attacks are essentially quasi turn based?
Thanks so much anons, assuming you're still here. Worked like a charm. May Fiona rest in icy chunk peaces.
its pretty much all out action brawler now with directional blocks and counter attacks with roll dodges etc. even momentum that might get you slide around the clifts
I don't know that either of Sera or Solas school each other. Sera pisses him off a couple times but Solas gets her good too. I think mostly they just have no idea whats going on in the other's head.
Solas schools the fuck out of Vivienne, and so does Cole. Cole owns pretty much everyone actually.
That would make this incest then.
yeah Im loving it at least, its a different game from origins for sure but this is another kind of good
honestly surprised that someone feels that way after trying both ways
It's not as good as Origins combat, at least if you like rigins cobat. If you didn't like Origins combat you'll probably think it's the best thing ever.
It's a good game, I would recommend it.
>Play this run as a tank
>all monsters just turn randomly
>trying to tank the dragons is ridiculous
Why do I even try to keep the assholes pointed away when no monsters obey and even with specific directions the ranged dudes run into melee to get AOEd by 2h duders
Solas and Vivienne bicker but I never get the impression either really comes out ahead. Solas loses his temper more but makes better arguments. Vivienne never loses hers or backs down.
Sera repeatedly gets Solas worked up. To the point that his arguments cease to be particularly good cause he's just pissed.
And Cole does own everyone more or less.
>get clan related mission
>let cullen handle it because thats what dag told me to do
>i regret to inform you that the dalish clan was entirely destroyed
I assume they must just like tac cam, which I never did. Tac cam is useless with mouse and keyboard.
Everything else is better tho, especially the viewing distance, with controller its right up your characters bum and that bugs the shit out of me.
I liked navigating menus much more with the mouse than with the controller, it was built for a controller and it shows, but it's still easier and faster with the mouse regardless.
As for holding down left mouse to attack, no it doesn't bug me nearly as much as holding down right trigger to attack.
he does sperg out quite a bit doesn't he
it's pretty funny
>listening to /dag/
You asked for this.
Forgot to address looting.
I just always used F to interact, works just as well as A on the controller, now it will even auto take all as well, before I just used space to loot all.
No problem at all.
>sent cullen last time
>send Josie this time
Oh that goes without saying. But I mean, who wouldn't?
>yfw the infamous smirking elf turned out to secretly be a bigger spaghetti monster than cullen
>16 hour quest
>it's not even a good stick
They're actually about equal spaghetti. Solas drops spaghetti when he's caught off guard. It's really not often, but when his feathers are ruffled it's hilarious. Like that Vivienne banter where she noticed he set himself on fire.
Stay safe, homies.
Because if was mfw the infamous smirking elf turned out to secretly be a bigger spaghetti monster than Cullen.
>Things have always been easier for me in the fade.
>1. Gisele drank from the Well.
>2. Khedira took the fragment of Mythal from Flemeth when Kieran was threatened. (Therefore she owns the geas and Gisele is bound to her instead.)
>3. The vallaslin conversation with Solas didn’t go down like canon at all (obviously, since she doesn’t have any). He offered to remove her criminal brand, she told him no. He tried to break up with her, but she wasn’t having it. They had a long conversation instead, and he confessed to her what happened.
>4. Gisele fought the red lyrium dragon and weakened it enough for Khedira, Marisol, et. all to take it out. She was hurt though, considerably worse than Morrigan was. (Remember, she’s not nearly as good a shapeshifter as Morrigan.)
I know we all say she should just make up her own series but it would have to be the most boring piece of shit where there's zero conflict all the time.
Exile to tevinter. You get him as an agent then. Throwing them off your land makes you sound like a massive jackass.
Honestly, part of me almost admires her imagination to come up with so much fucked out nonsense so easily. Imagine if she used her forces for good instead of autism.
Isn't Gisella her Warden tho?
I need a drink. Reading this hurt my soul.
>"Yeh, who wants to walk over DEAD ELVES"
>[angry elf noises]
Do Crestwood amulet of power chest exploit still work?
Yeah she got buttmad that DAI doesn't kiss the Warden's ass enough so she decided the Inquisition is actually being lead by her Warden. Her Inquisitor and Hawke just kind of stand there and play second fiddle.
Keep up elbows.
Or go back to whining about white elves on tumblr.
>mfw realizing that the Deep Mushrooms literally grow out of moldy spider corpses
I want the next game to take place after a long timeskip (like 20 years or so) and in Tevinter. Like her try to see her weasel her mary sue queen Warden into being the hero then.
That wasn't even a slap; that was a full on fist to the face.
And Solas' face looks so soft...
Hi guys, I have two questions for /dag/. Never been to this general before.
1. Do choices from Origins count in this game? If so, how do I go about importing them? Is it that dragonagekeep.com thing in the OP or is that something completely different?
2. What kinds of weapons are in this game, and are specializations weapon locked? I'm assuming rogues get bows and daggers, warriors get one handed + shield or two handed weapon, and mages only get a staff. Missing anything? I'm wondering about weapon locks because an Artificer who uses Daggers sounds fun, but I don't know if that class will force me to be an archer or not.
1. Some do, but not many. Yes. You use the keep, it's sort of like an interactive form you fill out based on your past choices.
2.Specializations are locked to your class,. Rogue, Mage, Warrior. Rogues get bows and dual daggers, Warriors get S+B, mauls, and greatswords. Mages get staffs. So, you can be a DW artificer.
>Do choices from Origins count in this game? If so, how do I go about importing them? Is it that dragonagekeep.com thing in the OP or is that something completely different?
It's been ten years so only the really big choices matter, like who is ruling Ferelden, if the Warden lived or died etc. Yes use the Keep.
>I'm assuming rogues get bows and daggers, warriors get one handed + shield or two handed weapon, and mages only get a staff
Yes you have it right, not the specializations SHOULD be able to work with all weapons.
Some choices matter, but Inquisition is set 10 years after the game. A lot of the "mattering" is in whether your Warden died or not, whether you or Anora married Alistair (if he even became king), and if Morrigan's child has the Old God's soul. The latter changes a portion of the story. As for importing; yeah, it's through Dragons Keep. Go there, sign in with your origins account and it will try to find your saves. Even if it can't, you can edit from a "base" save of your liking to build a good enough save for Inquisition to work from. Then you import from in-game.
You can be an Artificer with Daggers. There aren't new weapon types, but you can craft and customize weapons to change their stats and appearance.
>your waifu is Morrigan
>you can slap her anytime with a simple mod
Is there anyone left in this general who isn't a demented Solas fangirl or an attention whore? I don't recognize you anymore, /dag/.
If you want to talk about something specific anon just say it
>what happened /dag/
>gripes about people being a fan of a character
nope, we're all the shitpost now
>people have nostalgia for /dag/
We've always been trash
>Cass: What guides you Inquisitor
>Inq: You guide me <3<3
Holy shit that's cheesy
Be the change you want to see in the world.
AKA just fucking bring up a new topic because if there's no active discussion people are gonna talk about whatever they want, and yes we have a lot of Solas fans here.
It's open /dag/, what's your slooty prompt going to be?
Cass has a canonical bush, so maybe you're supposed to assume everyone else is hairy as well but didn't get rendered properly thanks to quality bioware modelling. At least that's what I do
Just thought "I can change set my things in Keep and start a new game as a Human Rogue." And wanted to do all of the war table stuff but, thank you new update. Can't get this shit done.
It would be nice if Bioware made it so we actually have to gauge a conversation to figure out whether it's appropriate to flirt or not. There's almost never any downside to choosing the flirt option at every opportunity.
That conversation should have played out something like:
>Inquisitor: You guide me! XD
>Cass: (Disgusted noise.)
Mythal was Elgar'nan's wife. She was the mother of Falon'din and Dirthamen, I think. Andruil went fucking crazy because of something, the blight seems about as good a guess as any other.
Oh, right. It's sun* and land, not Mythal.
Anyway, are they the parents of the other creators?
*The "Sun" sounds like a huge arsehole. If he exist, I wonder if Solas put him to sleep as well?
DA:O > DAI > Legacy DLC > DA2 > Mabari shit > Mark of the Assassin
He got to Skyhold at least, and sounded like he did a few judgements, but his big critiques were about the MMO style quests/enemy spawns, the shitty controls (presumably on the PS4 version), the clunky inventory, and the fact that the game tries to throw so much stuff at you that you never need to use unless you're going for a 100% completion run.
The only good part about MotA was playing Purple Hawke and just screwing with all the stuck up Orlesians
That 3 seconds of your 2 companions bickering while they looked for you and Tallis was also nice
