Why is this allowed?
I don't care if they have to have billboarded green rectangles put in place, lower quality giving an objective advantage is bullshit.
OK anyone can explain me Slav constructing logic?
>Fuel tank in front
>Ammo rack in most vulnerable areas
>Flat armor that wouldn't bounce any shell bigger then 37mm
>Ammo placed everywhere to make sure tank will explode after penetration
>Big ass shells that weight more then crew members
>Look up, same story
>Driver surrounded by fuel tanks
>Ammo placed stored behind fuel tank to make sure explosion will destroy half of yrope
Because crew safety is overrated ;)
The point was to not get hit. If you failed to hit the enemy first and got hit, you did not fulfill your commitment to the communist movement and Stalin and therefore your life didn't matter anymore.
CRYBABIES IS GONNA KEEP CRYING OVER EVERY LITTLE THING
I never got why he bitches about people playing with low settings.
Nigger, I can't go above Medium if I want 30fps. Some of us have toasters and, you know, responsibilities that keep us from just buying a better rig. Deal with it.
If some of you guys are into /o/ at the Retromobil event there will be the Tiger II exposed, still in working condition
This games devs are the biggest fucking jews every holy fuck
Tiger 2 a shit
m103s gun rapes everything
So I am in no way defending this shit as there should be a solution but these faggots do know that games have suffered from these problems since graphics settings have existed right? Hell in competitive play people put their graphics down to a minimum in order to get perfect frame times.
This isn't something new in Warthunder.
So what is your opinion on bombers kamikaze-ing in AB, /wtg/? I see a lot of people getting buttflustered about seeing a bomber nosedive, which is extremely misplaced rage... the actual plane crash does literally 0 damage to anything on the ground, and is furthermore just a symptom of the crappy, throwaway format of the air strikes in AB.
Just like the slav planes and ships, they were incredibly primitive. No thought put into it besides
>Does it work?
>How do we put the biggest gun we have on it?
the ussr was massive enough to never have to worry about materials or population and they were bordering their enemy, so they didn't need to overengineer everything like germans or hit out a bunch of mass produced tanks that could be rapidly transported across the sea like americans.
>ultra slav quality
>bragging about it being a shitter
>h-hokay comrades, i am of leaving peacfully now :^)
I'll play it because it's the only multiplayer tank game with modern tanks
Just like I played world of tanks because it was the only multiplayer tank game (that wasnt super obscure anyways)
It becomes a problem in AB mainly because no matter how fast you go the plane can still bomb you just because they can drop their bombs point blank crash and have no penalty at all.
Its like having a guided missile more than having a bomber, if there was a punishment for dying or suicide in the plane (Like your tank crew dies) then a lot more people would use the bombers for bombing rather than guided missileing (I mean for fuck sake you are given a fucking marker how the shit can you not aim those fucking bombs?)
Was having a fantastic game in a chafee last night. Taking cap circles. Fighting off the enemy. recaping more cap circles. Driving circles around heavier tanks. Flanking the shit out of the enemy. This was all really close quarters city fighting, Eastern Europe. The match is just about to end and I go sliding around one last alley corner, and straight into four enemy KV-1s, turrets pointed right at me.
Felt like this
Interesting the way Jingles ends this video
>It doesn't matter if the game is good or not, the only thing that matters is whether or not it will steal players from WoT.
I guess if I were an investor in said video game companies, then I'd put importance in their profits. But as a player I'm more interested whether or not a game is better.
Who is Jingles speaking for in these videos?
Yeah, Tiger IIs were issued with Pzgr. 40/43 if they were expected to face IS-2.
Except the basic ammunition for the IS-2 could penetrate 202mm at 1500m, and the henshell turret was flat with 185mm armour.
The IS-2 actually had no problem penetrating the Tiger II.
Picture related, it's a King Tiger hit from the front with a 122mm shell.
Test drove the IS-2 last night, and just by luck I popped the turret off of every single target german vehicle I hit.
Wondered what was going to happen with the jagdtiger, since it didn't have a turret. Instead the entire gun when flying out, breach included. Thought it looked ridiculous, but looks kinda like that's what happened in that photo.
>my current "rig" is a 350€ budget machine. thats a weeks salary for every holidayjob a teenager can get... bug i forget. people on in this general dont work. they just shitpost the whole day.
he has a point but isnt able to properly explain it.
>lower settings=higher siturational awareness
>to remain competetive, people are "forced" to do it.
literally a 1to1 wot copy. same UI, same gameplay, same game.
It was hit with many shells, but 1 shell went through the glacial plate cleanly.
Hitting the front plane of Ferdinands usually cause it to explode with high explosive shells, since you fuck it's entire top armour.
>posts that he has no respect for ponyfags
>literally a few posts away from gory spanking furshit and frzshit
"Shot #4. Target: upper front plate. Shell: 122 mm AP pointed type. Distance: 600 m.
Result: penetration, hole is 180 mm by 250 mm. A piece of armour is torn off the rear side, 580 mm by 500 mm, 80 mm in thickness. The shell struck close to the non-penetrating hit from shell #3. The shell remained in the tank."
Wanna know the weirdest bias I just found?
Go look down the barrel of end-tier German and Russian tanks with the armor viewer.
German tanks receive flat "armor" inside the barrel, making it effectively 20-40mm thick.
Russian tanks get this weird magical inverse cone going on in every single one of theirs, increasing the inner-barrel armor to 60-80; and in the case of the ISU-152, ">160mm."
Just looked at some American tanks. They get it too. You need at least 60-80mm pen, or more to pen down America/Russian barrels at batshit angles that are likely to auto-bounce. With Germany, you need 20-30mm pen on flat plates that are extremely unlikely to bounce. M46 gets 90mm.
I almost noted that the KV-2 has no inner lining, but it actually does. The 90mm mantlet is hidden inside the barrel too.
leaving the question of what hit the tank first. small guns or big guns?
100mm d10t or 203mm b4?
clearly, those are hardly scientific methods of testing gun penetration.
Is speccing into light American tanks and going fast a viable strategy in sim mode?
My thoughts are
>Go light tanks
>Put crew points into reload and driving
>Go fast and hit them
>Go fast and escape
>Reloading before they can reload and pound them
>Choose NA Server
>10% Packet Loss
>mfw playing games w/ Canadian friends and getting 80 ping
>mfw playing games w/ UK friends and getting 160 ping
>mfw playing games w/ Nippon friend and getting 210 ping
>mfw when it's probably faster to do a full 360 around the globe and back to me than to play on their "NA" servers sometimes.
Conversely, sometimes I get one server where I have like 18 ping and that's really nice.
Yeah seems inconsistent, not sure if it was done on purpose or not. Maybe a dev played and had his barrel shot off and got pissed so he snuck and did that on the tanks he liked the most at the time
absolutely, fast tanks are best
once you get the chaffee you'll be so used to being a tiny little faggot that it'll feel slow in comparison, but it's still great
Any one know of a place for sailor moon skins for russian planes?
You mean you click LMB once and two rounds fire almost simultaneously?
Ping spike. You client fired, but took slightly longer to register on the server. Used to be a much bigger problem than it is now, but if you've got connection issues it still crops up.
Both ways of testing a valid.
You have field tests with normal ammo vs normal tanks.
And controlled tests of a set gun vs a steel plate.
You need both kinda tests to get a full picture of the performance.
Tunneling service? Tell me more.
I think it's just laziness honestly. Like how many new tanks have coax MGs that don't move with the gun and then clip. This has happened almost every time new tanks are added.
The first Typhoon with 10 gazillion MGs is pretty shit because the guns do almost nothing.
The rest is pretty good. Kinda like a FW190 with worse weapon layout but better maneuvering in the horizontal.
Typhoon 1a with 12 .303s teaches you how to manage your engine and maneuverability to hug someone close enough to smell their ass waft; because you're going to have to be that close to do any damage.
Anything except tracer. Stealth might give you more time to put initial fire on, but you'll want Universal or something with a single tracer hiding in it to make sure you're actually getting all 12 on target.
Just practice. It doesn't roll and turn like Spitfires. Flies more like American fighters. Great in a dive.
The .303 threes aren't really a problem if you keep your gun convergence in mind, and now how to use it properly. That's also a matter of practice. It's got a shitload of them, so you can saw right through any plane you see at convergence.
>Russian 44 planes BRed with 41 planes of other nations
>literally nobody queues Russia-Germany historical events on the Russian side
P O S T T R A X
he's not really speaking for anyone, just had to say really around that the game sucks because all the videos about it had to be shown to the devs before they are approved to be released
I guess they won't have late war tanks, but some of those early war tanks look like they'd be pretty fun and interesting to play.
Especially those StuG-like TDs. Semoventes or something like that?
Yes the Semovente 75
Thanks man you made my day
>Ace Combat Zero
Why do you guys get all hard for Pasta ground forces?
I'm Italian but i couldn't care less about those generic-rushed designs
I get that the serie-5 is really good looking, but what about tanks?
>this war thunder artist feels he is superior to horsefuckers for some reason
answers in the form of a question
it's the most hit or miss shit I have ever seen.
I have blasted tigers from the front and 1 shot them and then fired at pz IIIs in the side or ass and taken more than 2-3 shots to kill.
it's a wonky fucking system but hilarious.
all the more hilarious when using a KV-2 and insta-killing three Tiger II H's from the side while having trouble with a jagdpanther.
I just want to give a big big shout out to all Japanese players that have bomb pylons unlocked on their planes
without you guys, winning matches against american players that climb to the stratosphere and speed away all game would be impossible. but thanks to you guys you bomb the shit out of their ground targets and show those faggoty american players whos boss.
HARD TO USE
it's hell when I have to bomb shit with 50kilos
I can easily kill any target in the game, I guess except battleships/carriers, with 250kg easy. Even player tanks, if you're accurate.
100kg are really only good against light pillboxes and AI ground units unless you're autistically accurate against players.
50kgs are a joke. I mean you might get a AI/Player tank with them if it goes down the commander's cupola or something.
Fair enough. I admit that I never rarely get the chance to bomb anything, but the last time I checked the 250kg's required me to be pretty retardedly accurate, but maybe that's because most (if not all) of my planes that had 250kg's had them mounted on the wings, which really fuck with my aim.
100kg can actually kill light pillboxes? Well shit, I was pretty sure only the 250kg and heavier stuff could kill it.
that is supposed to show how complex the DMs are, which is shite
250kg has to go right into the center of a Pillbox the same way a 100kg has to literally hit dead center underneath (no hitboxes) of a Light Pill to kill it.
I know because I ground out some insane amount of RP with the Tu-2S-59 using 9 x 100kg bombs and winning shit like Berlin/Ruhr (I think?) in two sorties.
Brit Tonks? You mean "oh god the Matilda/Valentine/Churchill variants please stop" nation?
I mean, if you really want, here's just Churchills:
Churchill Mk 1 - 2 Pounder and 3 Inch Howitzer
Churchill Mk II (Ia) - 2 Pounder
Churchill Mk IICS (Close Support) - 3 Inch Howitzer shoved in turret, 2 Pounder in hull.
Churchill Mk III - 6 Pounder. Welded turret.
Churchill Mk IV - 6 Pounder. Cast Turret.
Churchill Mk IV (75) - Given a British Mk V 75mm gun.
Churchill Mk V - 95mm Howitzer. Cast turret.
Churchill Mk VI - 75mm Mk V cannon. Slight additional armor.
Churchill Mk VII - 75mm Mv V cannon. Wider. Lots of additional armor. "Heavy Churchill"
Churchill Mk VIII - A Mk VII with a 95mm Howitzer. Slightly different turret.
Churchill Mk IX - A Mk III/IV with a VII turret and 75mm Mk V Cannon. Extra armor.
Churchill Mk IX LT - As above, but retaining the 6 Pounder.
Churchill Mk X - Same as the IX, but to a VI Hull.
Churchill Mk XI - 95mm Howitzer. Churchill V with lots of additional armor and a Mk VIII turret.
Churchill NA75 - Churchill VIs using guns and mantlets from Sherman tanks. Same 75mm as the Sherman.
Churchill Gun Carrier Mk I - A tank destroyer variant using a QF 3-Inch 20 cwt Anti-Aircraft gun. 50 Built. None used because the 17-Pounder ripped shit anyways and was soon coming out on the Challenger.
Churchill AVRE - A Mk III or IV Hull equipped with a 290mm Spigot Mortar.
(18kg ammo with 12kg charges.)
Churchill AVRE (Post War) - A Mk VII hull equipped with a 165mm Demolition Gun.
(29kg ammo with 18kg charges.)
a shell big enough to do that to a tiger would need to be past 300mm caliber or a 250+ bomb
plus look at the fucking damage it did
NONE OF THOSE WILL BE NESTED
>need to be past 300mm caliber
Do you have a source for that?
Also, hasn't gaijin said what shells are used for which tiers of artillery? Something like 152 for era 1-2 and 210 for higher tiers?
>Ju88, stock, Kursk

>Consistently stay within the top 5 players on tonks
>Consistently die like a bitch and stay below the top 10 on planes
Main reason I wanted to play this was the planes. Pls help, tired of being an earthbound misfit I
Flying the 109 G-2 premium, the 109 G6, the 190 A5/U2 and the 410 B6/R3 I haven't been matched against Soviets once for the past month. I have also only ever seen the Sicily, Norway and Ruhr maps for the past month.
>tfw need to play Malta for muh camos
>tfw never get Malta
Remember when Malta was source of memes?
Assorted low tier planes, I've been playing for little over a month.
I know the basics, usually try to stay higher than my target then swoop down for the kill, then I disengage and try again. Problem is I hardly hit anything doing this and soon enough some fucker comes in and kills me in a handful of shots
FM2 is my waifu
engine is stronger by like 150 hp
Shit would be redic
>Problem is I hardly hit anything doing this
Well, that's your own problem. Maybe you were going too fast and the control stiffening messed your aim. Maybe your aim just wasn't good enough. Or maybe you acted a little hesitant and didn't do much deflection shooting. Although seeing as you're flying low tier planes, you probably flew an aircraft that rarely have cannons, in which case there is nothing to do but suffer through it. MGs are just shit all-around for now, except maybe the clap fiddies which are decent.
>and soon enough some fucker comes in and kills me in a handful of shots
As hopeless of an advice this might be (>trusting low-tier teams), stick with your team. Or you can avoid any engagements until you're %100 sure that %99 of the enemy team is at a lower altitude than you, and potentially take everybody by surprise. I find it useful with low-altitude planes in general. Your chances for getting kills will be lower of course, but this is the sacrifice you will make for survival.
>fly Ki-45 tei
>4 v 1

>decide to rope a dope a P-26
>one bullet nicks my plane
>my plane bursts into fucking flames
>almost all control surfaces gone
>crash into ocean
are you kidding me
Why aren't you idort master race?
Why doesn't this thing track my kills in sim battles
>thinks being able to kill a Pz III Ausf. M aka glasscannon is an achievement
You have to take it slow (it's impossible not to, really) and your sides are made of glass. BR 8.0 tanks pose a challenge but are killable. The gun's a laser and even BR 8.0 tanks have trouble penning you from the front. One of the main problems is how tall/huge it is unlike such low profile t0nks. Wouldn't call it as much of a clubber as the jagdpanther.
>you have ten seconds to explain why you aren't flying under glorious orange, white and blue
Tfw no Souther drawl tank commander voice
>DE-LIGHTED TO, SIR!
>I AM PREPARED TO DROP THE HAMMER!
>AND DISPENSE SOME INDISCRIMINATE JUSTICE
>WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION?
>even BR 8.0 tanks have trouble penning you from the front
Unless they're American.
Then they can do it at an angle from long range because 1957 tanks fighting those from 1943 is of fair and balance )))).
You don't fly it for fun, you fly it for her.
You guys do realize the 152mm howitzers carried by SU 152's could knock the turret off of a Tiger through sheer blast force with a direct hit right? Not to mention the effects of spalling and concussion of the blast, which was shown to be powerful enough to even kill crews inside Ferdinands, although the vehicle would normally still work after you shoveled the old crew out.
Hell, the SU 152 was the only reliable long range weapon they had to kill Tigers with at Kursk besides artillery or airplanes, that's why they built so many Su and ISU 152's afterwards, because they were good at knocking down fortifications and killing enemy tanks.
Idk how it's a spin machine, I can play it fine in SB.
If anything is wrong with it it's the fact that it has 0 energy retention. Also it cannot dive anymore to save it's life, worse than the P-47 now.
The BR is the way it is because before 1.35 AKA when BRs were introduced which is the same time the Hellcat got a new FM. The Hellcat was a huge fucking piece of shit. Turned like a P-47, was as fast as a Zero, climbed like a B-17. It was garbage, so anyone who played it usually sucked and died all the time.
why didn't they just build super fast tanks with armor-piercing lances that could penetrate tank armor and then explode inside the tank?
SMALL FAMILY COMPANY
except it is a good movie
Depends on what aspects you like.
They're both pretty terrible. It's pointless to compare which game's grind and balance is better or worse though - They're both fucking terrible, and that's it.
Oh my god, I laughed so unexpectedly that I choked on my own spit
it actually has a lot in common with wot, such as
-small anemic number of maps and gametypes
-bad teams who will make you suffer
however, tank wrecks sometimes just magically vanish here in war thunder, terribly unrealistic
