P5 will have a character who dances for normal attacks. Weapon equips will be instructions for different kinds of dances. Trust me, I work for EA.
You fuse individually for every character. It's right there when you ask to fuse in the VR. And it will tell you if they are compatible or not. For example Lilim is only compatible with me characters because slut, but if you look at the females it will show "worst" compatibility.
I never knew i could be so sad for not knowing japanese
Yukek is the most fashionable persona girl
She dress even better than turbobitch takeda or infinite money kiriko
mitsuru doesn't actually pick out her outfits herself, she just wears what the fashion stylist says to wear
that being said, yuki's fashion sense appears to be something she would be paid money by kirijo for
>Already more relevant then they've been in quite awhile
How? You deluded P2fags already had your balls kicked when social links got confirmed and the game shapes up to be more and more like P3/P4 than ever. Stop bothering everyone, Atlus doesn't give a fuck about you. You're like an obsessive ex-boyfriend, jesus.
>can't let go of a company that doesn't pander to them anymore
>keep trash talking their new products hoping that they will go back to them
Yup, P2fags are the obsessive ex-boyfriends alright.
I think she would look just as good with a pair of tights on
But yeah I love her winter jacket too
Only in the TV-world
She comments on how she doesn't feel cold even when she has her legs bare, it's implying that she can resist it
Meaning that Yukiko can't get burned, Kanji can't get electrocuted and Yosuke can't get....pushed by wind? I dunno
>Meaning that Yukiko can't get burned
That's not what it looked like when i friendzoned her :^)
It's kind of incredible how P4 ended up generating so much cash when P Team put nowhere near as much work into it as they would normally. I'm not going to call it the 50 Shades of Grey of the series or anything, but hopefully they don't make a bad habit out of deciding on all of their motifs and even the character names at the last minute.
not this shit again
now you're telling me how P3 is so unique and revolutionary and the best story ever and how the characters had the best development ever despite being generic angst anime #184
some people like a light hearted detective story instead of emo evangelion clone, deal with it. many people, actually, seeing how succesfull P4 was.
P5 has been in development for 7 years compared to P4's 2 so I don't think we have to worry about that too much.
I'm a bit sceptical to if I'll like the whole sneaking around deal, but at least it means they're doing something new
>Hashino went on record saying that P Team took a very lazy approach to P4
He never said that
And obviously they had the pressure of doing a sequel to a praised game just two years ago, they couldn't work as much on it as they wanted. Still did a great job and P4 managed to be even more popular than P3, to glorious and delicious tears of MCfags everywhere
Naoto can also find her way around in the dark, I guess.
>And all they needed to do was make a protagonist so perfect that everyone would suck his dick.
Nah, they just needed to do a good one. They tried that with P3 and only faggots on a cantonese image board obsess over that skinny faggot.
I bet she can
I'm trying to make an innuendo out of this but I'm not sure how
To me at least it still looks like P5 will be a red P4, except more stylized and hopefully more difficult. Which I'd be totally fine with.
> they couldn't work as much on it as they wanted
They decided on symbolic shit like the glasses at the last minute. They had no design document because they decided to go with the vague idea they had and didn't bother making one. They treated the game like it was no big deal until they got closer to release and the corners they cut got them in trouble. They didn't even have to make an engine from scratch but this shit still happened.
All shit they caused on their own that had nothing to do with time constraints.
People take the comment that they didn't have a central design document as a statement that the developers were lazy and didn't care. Just like the statement that in the early drafts of the game Adachi wasn't the killer, some people take to mean that Adachi wasn't the killer until the game was almost literally out the door and Atlus changed it at the last second.
People take statements and twist them to justify their own ideas. This is nothing new.
>The previous Persona games were edgy
I know we argue about edgy a lot in this general, but P1 was not edgy at all. And the first 90% of IS was a lot of goofiness.
Soejima was pushing the glasses since the beginning, when everyone else wanted to have them summon their Personas using masks for some reason
>They didn't even have to make an engine from scratch but this shit still happened.
Why would they make a new engine? Do you know how Atlus operates? They reuse everything possible.
You know that things can happen anytime during game development, including the final months, right? GTA was just a boring racing game till a bug in fucking playtesting changed their minds because getting your shit pushed by the police was more fun than the original game they had in mind. An iconic change literally at the last minute, and you know how GTA is big now. Your argument is not only stupid but also untrue because a lot of earlier concept art show the characters using glasses already.
>They decided on symbolic shit like the glasses at the last minute.
But that's wrong. Soejima made few sketches where they use masks instead of glasses because that's what everyone wanted, but he wanted to go with glasses from the beginning because he thought it would be amusing to have all main characters wear glasses
You know I never got why Persona 1 is so fucking idolized here. I mean even back when it was new the book on it was "hey there's a lot of fucking cool ideas here but it isn't put together well." It wasn't until P2 when the cool ideas starting coming together well.
>he thought it would be amusing to have all main characters wear glasses
Why do I keep hearing rumors of there being 5 P3 movies? Was this confirmed or are people really delusional enough to think P3 has enough plot for that?
pic unrelated it's me dying in maniac mode
Have you actually read any of those posts or am I just falling for bait by responding to you
Why not? There's really nothing else to do but shitpost til maybe the P3 falling down CD comes out. We've run out of things to speulate and droll over with the Persona 5 and dancing all night trailers.
Well, some people really like it. Same reason why some people still love a lot of old-school JRPGs even when their mechanics would be considered archaic today. Some people appreciate it. I never managed to get through P1, though I'm considering picking it back up.
Because this argument is bullshit. Just because Hashino said that the team was easygoing and didn't bother making shit they really needed doesn't mean it's true, and clearly the scenario where they were working hard down to the wire is the one that actually happened.
New news? Do you mean something since the reveal of Naoto and yukiko? Because I don't remember anything of that nature.
Just that Nanako isn't just a cameo appearance and that she'll have a big role in the game's plot. Other than the reveal of suspenders with cleveage Naoto and open sweater Yukiko w the theme song. that's it. I'm honestly wondering if they' ll even tell us anything about Kanami before the game releases. Then again, we knew exactly jack shit about Labrys, Sho, Rei and Zen before those games came out.
It wasn't much. They just officially confirmed costumes and said they're putting a lot of effort into them, Nanako has an important role in game and Hanako won't be playable. We talked about that already.
Yeah, that and appparently they're going to do DLC costumes and songs. Forgive me for not regularly stopping by here since when /pg/ doesn't have new shit to talk about it ends up arguing about the same goddamn things over and over again. Like it's either Waifu wars, P3 vs P4, P1/2 vs P3/4, and bickering over minor details.
It's a fanservice music game with costumes. Of course there will be a cleavage costume for her. There'll be revealing costumes for everyone.
Including the guys. ESPECIALLY the guys.
For the time, Persona 1 was very popular because an RPG like that wasn't common. I would say that games that have characterization and actual story was very new to Atlus o P1 was very different for them.
And if not that I liked the characters of P1. Sure they're not as dimensional as the rest of the Persona cast, but they have their charm.
>Just because Hashino said that the team was easygoing and didn't bother making shit they really needed doesn't mean it's true,
>Hashino himself said it
>Doesn't mean it's true
I think I'm being trolled.
Embrace the bickering and arguments
Join the collective
>Persona 1 was very popular because an RPG like that wasn't common
Yeah, that's what I said, it had some cool as fuck ideas but the actual gameplay bits were a fucking mess when compared to 2. People played one for the story (which was fucking revolutionary at the time) and sort of dealt with the janky gameplay mechanics even for a PS era JRPG.
I was being sarcastic.
The point is that P4fags don't want to accept that P4's design process wasn't as complete as it should have been, and consider any other perspective a warped interpretation of a fairly straightforward quote.
more like P1-P3 shitters trying to make P4 look bad anyway they can just because not everyone likes the bullshit premises of the old games as much as they do P4's. They need to be reminded that if it wasn't for P4 there would be no Persona 5.
You sure it''s not just favoritism and nostalgia talking?
Sorry I must have misread it then.
I have played maybe JRPGs back in the PS1 era and I do have to say that the gameplay of P1 is pretty backwards for its time. Although thinking about it in terms of other JRPGs, Persona 1 came before FFVII. I might be judging a little too harshly.
Oh I honestly couldn't tell. P4fags are a lot more defensive and the P2fags about their game, despite what they may believe.
>You sure it''s not just favoritism and nostalgia talking?
I honestly doubt but maybe 2 people here on /pg/ played Revelations when it was released initially in the US. I played P1 back in 2012.
It isn't "as complete as it should have been" so much at it is "We decided to try something different since everyone was on the same page but in retrospect it could have been disastrous"
>Is the protagonist’s name officially Yu Narukami in the game?
>It is and it’s going to be locked to that. I know everyone has their own idea of who the Persona 4 protagonist is in their heads, but if you look at it as just another unique spin on that character, I think you’ll find a lot to enjoy about him here.
I hope the Soujifags are crying.
>P4fags are a lot more defensive and the P2fags about their game
You know this is not true
>I hope the Soujifags are crying.
literally no one
That's pretty much what this whole argument was immediately perceived as, even though there was no mention of 'Dojima was supposed to be the killer' or 'Atlus took the easy way out with the Scoobies' anywhere. So yeah.
But it wasn't "we tried something different", it was "we didn't bother making a design document and it caused problems later that could've been way worse than they were."
At the very least they aren't going to be making a mistake as dumb as this again.
>I'm referring to the other Persona communities
>A lot of fanfiction authors are Soujifags.
No one important ever called him souji.
And if there was no persona 3 there wouldn't be a persona 5
And if there was no persona 2 there wouldn't be a persona 5
And if there was no Persona 1 there wouldn't be a Persona 5
And if there were no MegaTen there wouldn't be a persona 5
You see how dumb it is?
They said that they made P4 without a design document which is one of the stupidest decisions you could ever make when making a game. They already admitted how much of a mistake it was to do that, it's a miracle the game was even remotely coherent
I did it for both P3 and P4 and plan on doing it in P5
I didn't in P2 though, for obvious reasons. Most games that give you the option but already fill in a name on the menu to type something in I won't change the name.
>we didn't bother making a design document
>it caused problems later that could've been way worse than they were
This is you extrapolating and not what the interview actually says. It says that not having a document did give them trouble and they recognized it was a mistake not to have one but you make it seem like they were on the verge of disaster all through the design process.
Great job looking like a dumbass. Persona 4 saved the franchise in the same way Fire Emblem Awakening saved their franchise. You can hate it all you want but it doesn't change how true that is. Persona 3 didn't bomb but it didn't blow motherfuckers out of the water like Persona 4 did and P1 and P2 were indie level titles at best.
>This is you extrapolating and not what the interview actually says.
>"Hashino also jokingly revealed that they would never make that mistake again, considering how much trouble the lack of such a document had caused them."
>considering how much trouble the lack of such a document had caused them.
>considering how much trouble
Your use of "if it wasn't for X then Y wouldn't have existed is retarded, just because it was popular doesn't mean it was good
P4 set the quality bar so low that every fucking baby could reach it
Just because it wad popular doesn't mean it's a good game
It's like surviving starvation by eating shit and claiming that shit is the best thing in th world
how so? you can see very clearly that P4 had a way bigger budget than P3. So it's not like P3 was a failure or anything.
yea, P4 exploded and we have 9 thousand spin-offs now, but the franchise wasn't that by any means
Alright, I'm level 40. What's my best bet against this nigga?
Also welcoming persona reccomendations for my level since I have a load of ~28 shit
Yes, 'caused trouble', and that's all it says in regards to that. You can't say exactly how much trouble it caused or what the ramifications of not having a document were outside of 'causing trouble'.
Saying that it was a miracle that P4 was coherent is entirely from you, because no one knows what the trouble not having the document caused was. The worst controversy we can be certain about is the mask/glasses thing.
If anything, P3, which had a design document, is now less coherent than P4, because almost all of the underlying mechanics and principles of P3's supernatural shit got retconned in the Answer. Now you have pre-retcon shit lying around in FES that doesn't make sense anymore, like MC enhancing people's potential/persona awakenings.
Don't forget Nyx being an alien, and once he was unleashed everybody was fucked, but an emo manlet manages to save the day somehow through the power of friendship!
I hope P5 doesn't betray us like that. At least P4 had the decency to not use a god like that.
you can just google the floor you're in and you'll find all the information you want. and I think it's safe to say most people won't remember good personas to use midgame.
>Also welcoming persona reccomendations for my level since I have a load of ~28 shit
you should recycle your shit way more often. Your personas should always be a couple of levels above you.
>but the franchise wasn't that by any means
wasn't dead by any means*
but persona 4 is popular therefore it's shit
I'm not even the anon that said it was a miracle that it was coherent. But the lack of a design document of all things almost certainly stirred up more shit than just the glasses thing.
Bringing up the Answer and retcons like this is entirely pointless and gives me cause to believe that you don't really know what a design document does, or why it's so vital to team oriented work.
What was Ikutsuki plan anyway? Nyx would kill everyone and couldn't be destroyed. He just wanted to call the Fall for shits and giggles? And of course he knew that, he knew more about Nyx than everyone, hell he probably was the only one that knew about Nyx in the first place.
No Persona 4 was shit because it didn't have AI controlled team members.
>But the lack of a design document of all things almost certainly stirred up more shit than just the glasses thing.
what exactly happened? can somebody link me to an interview that explains or something, please?
Soejima drafted up the glasses early on but they weren't finalized until 'the last minute'. The P Team was probably feeling a little too good about themselves after P3 and thought they were all on the same page for P4 and so went about making various elements of the game without a design document to keep everything consistent, which caused problems later on.
If P Team wasn't inherently good at what they did P4 would've been an absolute trainwreck.
it was just bad writing. He had no motivation AT ALL but they wanted to have a twist in the story.
Adachi also suffer from the same problems too, imo (I can't fucking stand the I KILLED THEM BECAUSE IT WAS FUN anymore).
Also, how did the people adachi killed appear on the midnight channel before he threw the bodies inside the TV?
He wasn't guiding himself by the midnight channel to chose who to throw into the TV like namatami and the people appeared on the midnight channel before they were actually thrown in.
The midnight channel doesn't show who's actually in the TV, it shows what people are talking about/want to know more about. Adachi killing the reporter lady and Saki after that was coincidence.
>people adachi killed appear on the midnight channel before he threw the bodies inside the TV?
What appears on the midnight channel is whatever the collective desire of the people watching it want to see.
The people Adachi fucked with were incidentally the focus of attention right before they died. Mayumi because of the scandal with Namatame, Konishi because she found Mayumi's body.
>Ah, okay, makes sense. Thanks.
wait, now that I'm thinking a bit more about this, how does this apply to nanako? Only her voice appeared on TV, would that really be enough for her to be on the midnight channel?
The Midnight Channel showed who was on everyone's minds at the time. Because of the scandal, people couldn't stop talking/thinking about Mayumi.
Adachi was interested in her and, being Elliot Rodger of 4, was stunned that she was a cheater so he went to confront her.
Saki found her body and was the talk of the town for a while so she then showed up on the Midnight Channel. Adachi saw her with Namatame, figured the same thing was happening with her, and confronted her too.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I'm still not sure about Adachi being so sure Nanako would be the next one to show up on the midnight channel to send that warning letter to Yu and all. And nanako appearing on the midnight channel when only her voice was shown on TV.
>I'm still not sure about Adachi being so sure Nanako would be the next one to show up on the midnight channel to send that warning letter to Yu and all
Adachi was toying with Namatame by that point
Yeah, but how did he know Nanako would be the next one to show up on the midnight channel?
He sent the first warning letter quite a bit of time before she showed up, and only her voice appeared on TV (and if I'm not mistaken, it did so a bit after you received the first warning letter).
Inaba is small enough to identify one little girl in a matter of hours, but not small enough for details about a creepy detective calling out to high school girls and spending the night at the scene of a crime to go anywhere for months.
Teddie was in VR because Yu was worried about him and summoned him on his own. Igor even said that.
Nanako revives for no reason because she was killed by a fog of lies and the IT reached to the truth hard enough to dispel it
Maybe he didn't know. I think he might have just been fucking with Yu. Or he knew who it was because I think Nanako's picture was in the paper though not on TV. Naoto says something about this while running to Yu's house.
Yeah, this didn't happen. She recovers even if they toss Namatame in.
She revives for literally no reason other than 'her 6 year old body was strong enough to recover from her heart flatlining'.
this sounds about right, since even though adachi was using namatame as a tool to put people in without getting his hands dirty, adachi was still really close with dojima and nanako would answer the doorbell for him
really though all of P4 was just coincidences like that, and like how adachi only used his powers from izanami after yu came to the town, and how adachi just happened to push the two people from the midnight channel in by coincidence after yu came to inaba
>and like how adachi only used his powers from izanami after yu came to the town
He didn't had any powers before Yu came to town moron
How would he push people? Also, he only figured about it by accident, Izanami never came and said HEY YOU CAN PUSH PEOPLE ON THE TV NOW
What the fuck are you on? Adachi got his powers when Izanami shook his hand. He already knew shit could go through the TV before he attacked Yamano.
>so people can go all the way through, huh?
adachi was in the town long before Yu was moron, and Izanami talked like she gave him and namatame the TV powers the exact same way she gave them to yu, with a handshake at the gas station when they came into inaba
the only explanation would be that their powers were dormant until all 3 had been given out, but that still doesn't explain that he just happened to kill the two people on the midnight channel before namatame gave him the phone call, except by coincidence
It wasn't just her voice being on TV, the article with the politician going to her school in the newspaper predated it and her identity had gotten out by the time of the kidnapping
the sees girls brushed him off though
maybe building a resistance to the dark hour's tiring effects also builds resistance to death's shadowy mind control powers
there is absolutely no reason for us to discuss this so deeply
i've seen some guys defending Ikutsuki and trying to rationalize his plan here before.
>Persona 4 has no plot holes
How the fox had babies if she's the only one in town HUH HUH
If Gekkoukan is such a fancy private school, how in the world did they admit a neanderthal who would leave a cigarette butt in the boy's bathroom?
most people don't remember what level they were in on all the bosses. also, you should say what difficulty you're playing.
There's no reason for you to ask this here, though, since on P4 (unlike P3) you can just go back and grind a bit if you think you're too weak. Just try it out and judge it yourself.
>i've seen some guys defending Ikutsuki and trying to rationalize his plan here before.
if they weren't baiting, that is
How Marie and Teddie have jobs with pay despite not only looking like foreigners but having no background whatsoever. Also, the doctors didn't want to keep Teddie in the hospital after seeing that nothing shows up on his x-rays yet it's obvious he has bones in his human body if you touch him. and finally, how the hell doujima doesn't bother asking how the fuck they managed to find and capture Adachi or link him to the murders at all. On the persona 3 side, How did Yukari deal with babysitting the socially ignorant Aigis during her 3rd year of high school? Surely somebody must of tried to ask Aigis out, surely someone would of wondered why Aigis never shows up to change into gym clothes or why she never eats or drinks.
>finally, how the hell doujima doesn't bother asking how the fuck they managed to find and capture Adachi or link him to the murders at all
Have you ever played the game you dingus
Adachi confessed everything and gave himself away.
i thought ikutsuki's motivation was he was fucking crazy. like, not trying to "rationalize" it or whatever, i just thought that was why
note: this is a bad motivation for a dumb plot twist
chie or rise
Marie doesn't look foreigner and it's a fucking goddess, she just made herself avaliable i guess. Teddie works for Yosuke's father as his friend and he's just a mascot receiving topsicle money
The doctors assumed the x-ray machine was broken and told him to come another day or to go to another hospital. He just never did.
I like how yosuke and teddie embraced their obvious gayness in the p4g epilogue with yosuke wearing a pink shirt that shows off a lot of collar, and teddie wearing something that shows off even more and has goddamn straps underneath
Why did Marie had to "spy" on humans to know what they want when Izanami and other gods or whatever are created from humans desire? She also had entire Collective unconscious for that. Why did the IT have to prove themselves to Ameno when Marie should've passed to Izanami that humans are cool by then.
Yosuke might be a fag but he's not the woman of their relationship. Also Teddie is a beautiful girl, he needs a bra
Boss Izanami was Marie's equivalent of a shadow. She couldn't accept the side of her that hated humanity after Izanagi blew her off for them. They were at odds with each other and Marie had no powers.
I have the physical version and it comes with absolutely nothing besides the case (as most games nowadays, sadly), so if that's the reason you're considering it, just download it.
I know the biggest plot hole in P4, the only one that has no honest justification (like the naoto surveillance camera one that would break the plot, or Marie being tacked on)
I've never seen it brought up here and I'm never going to because P4 gets beaten around enough while P3 gets a free ride
Evangelion and its clones will always get a free pass in the public eye critically speaking. Decades of arguments come near solely from waifus(with a bit of "X was right" baiters).
NO. anything with marie in it is Non canon and anyone who likes that shit should wake up and join in my protest to get atlus to write golden out of canon along with Labrys and Sho.
Fucking mary sue bitch gets to be aigis sister, gets to be stronger than aigis, gets her own metis that sticks around, gets to be great friends with the casts of both p3 and p4 with very little interaction, gets to solo the last boss even through it took Yu and Adachi's Izanagi's to kill it as per the story said it would. No fuck that, she needs to go just as bad as Marie does. Its' the only way for the stories of either games to have any fucking dignity left in their stories.
Labrys isn't the best written character ever, but she gets a pass from most people because she wasn't inserted into the original game, and she's not really overdesigned. Being a new character in a spinoff is a less damning offense than being a new character in an enhanced re-release of a game.
