Gonna repeat myself here
One anon that seemed to have ties into the VA business stated that it's not really a union thing. It's Atlus USA being a shit company. Catherine, for example, was unionized.
>they drew everyone underwater except Fuuka
>mfw the school camp event
I'm glad P4G has a fast forward button so I don't have to sit through this now.
The last time I tried to play P4G after having beaten three times before I noticed I was fast forwarding through literally every piece of dialogue it let me skip through.
That's when I realized I was finally done with P4.
did this babby seriously get triggered this hard by typical pointless first posts
wow, how do you even manage to stay alive if that makes you cry
The school camping trip and the culture festival are the only ones I do this for. They were fun the first time, but in any subsequent playthrough they're just boring since nothing happens in them.
I mean, I'd hope P5 has a fast forward button. It's super convenient, and lets you skip shitty scenes when you're replaying the games.
is it just an autistic fit you can't explain or something
not that it's very important, your tears are delicious either way
I don't doubt that with how popular Persona is getting they can't afford decent VAs that aren't the same five over and over, so I hope this time round Atlus USA takes some damn time with their casting choices and actually pay them.
Short hair doesn't have long hair.
For best girl being cut for no apparent reason
The fighting spin-off comment was a joke. What if the protagonist says what you choose them to say instead? It'd be a safe way of giving the protagonist a voice/semblance of self.
Does Yukari have the best hair out of all the Purse Owners?
I was responding to the making the protagonist less silent part. If you did that, you'd be making the protagonist more of a character. Which is of course completely fine. But it would not really feel right in Persona where the protagonists are kinda supposed to be self-inserts.
I'm talking about the screentime anon.
She's a sharp girl, though
>that disgusting spacing between her eyes
I gotcha. They do kinda have to be blank slates to fit the trend. Still, the whole thing about P5MC's silent act being a ruse makes me feel like he's actually gonna be somebody this time around. Dunno.
Maybe, but Naoto's is my favourite. I just wanna ruffle her hair, and run my fingers through it. I bet it smells nice.
>I bet it smells nice.
It would smell like old leather, sweat, and mens shampoo
But Aegis just looks like Aegis without the bow. I think it might be the bright shade of red on the lips that makes Mitsuru weird. Otherwise most of em look fine.
>Not liking the smell of old leather, Naoto's sweat, and men's shampoo
That was shopped. This is what she really looks like.
The best hairstyle is obviously
Never because they don't know either
9 times out of 10 twintails are awful.
The super long Miku ones are the worst though.
>Mitsuru has four different fucking portraits
Anon, violence is not the answer.
This is the cure for pedophiles.
Twintails are not normally a good hairstyle.
The fact that Rise rocks them so well is more a testament to her than the hairstyle.
so what would you like in the P5 collectors edition (if it happens)
>the blazer MC is wearing
>the poster Atlus was giving at the concert
I dunno, i'd rather have a Cu Chulain than a Anzu.
A statue would be cool. Although I hope it won't turn out like the Bravely Default statue
The fact that Rise rocks them so well is because she's a drawing.
>Suggests Kanji when Kanji has the worst accuracy in the game
which theology do you think P5 will pull from? P3 being very greek, and P4 being japland themed, I'm curious. Given that Arsene is a character from a book, it makes me wonder what else might be in store.
Who the fuck cares the game is easy as shit
Chie's thing is high crit phys skills. That's why giving her apt pupil in P4G was good. She's very useful against gold hands in P4G for that reason. At least until Almighty takes over as the preferred strategy for killing them.
She's also the only character that gets a meaningful progression of all-enemy phys skills. Because of that and her ability to crit hit so well, I prefer her to Kanji while exploring dungeons. Kanji is definitely better in boss fights though, except for Margaret where Dragon Hustle is so useful.
Chie in vanilla is only good for early game where you don't have an alternative, and at the very end once she gets Agneyastra and God Hand. She has a huge lull in the mid levels where all she has is shit-tier AoE heat wave and single-target Black Spot that is outpreformed by Kanji's single-target skills. The only thing she really has over Kanji in that timeframe is maybe getting a status ailment off of Skull Cracker if you keep it around that long, and Galactic Punt.
Kanji also gets better buffs and spells than her and has more utility.
Technically she IS worse in vanilla than she is in Golden but she's still surprisingly useful in vanilla for trash fights.
Arsene being a literary character really throws me for a loop, they've never really done much of those prior.
It could be fictional thieves/tricksters. Loki, Hermes (for the third time), Susanoo, Coyote, Wukong, Set
Except that you can cheese out 99% of those battles with anyone else, yet when it comes to boss battles, Naoto becomes an item dispenser unless you equip her with the item that halves your SP skills.
Sure, let's just discuss about waifus and hairstyles instead
>yet when it comes to boss battles, Naoto becomes an item dispenser unless you equip her with the item that halves your SP skills.
Naoto should always be running the Chakra Ring even outside of bossfights
Well, I'm playing NG+ in vanilla and Chie is a very positive surprise so far. I'm at 44 level, just before Mitsuo shadow.
To be honest, she's the hardest hitting character for now - her ice spells kick ass, multi-hit physicals are nice, but I mainly use Kohryu to rape enemies anyway. I like that her follow-up attack is an instant kill. I also have had no problems with her missing. Maybe RNG is with me on this one.
Haven't had a single person die yet, except at Contrarian King when he Rampaged my ass at lvl 16. Mara with absorb physical makes this fight easy, though.
My team for original playthrough was Yosuke, Kanji and Yukiko. For this one, I kept in Chie instead of Kanji.
>Double HP double damage enemies
More like more grinding and a larger time investment, but there aren't any strategies or weaknesses/immunities that change.
Which is really disappointing, games really need to do that. Wasn't someone working on a P3 Hard Mode at one point?
I don't see what that has to do with anything I've said. Persona is always easy in all circumstances and people take their strategies too seriously or try to wear them like a badge of honor. There are strategies which are probably more optimal but anything works.
You give her the item that halves SP consumption. She can use Dragon Hustle three times then without needing an item. That's good for 9 turns, which is more than worth it when it saves you so many turns on other characters casting buffs.
>Except that you can cheese out 99% of those battles with anyone else
You can cheese out any battle with anyone. But people still argue about whether to use Kanji or Chie when the real answer is both of them will kill anything.
Personally I like Naoto for most fights because she's the fastest and ends the battles in one turn. If a fight is going to be effortless it might as well be over instantly.
For now, Bufula hits nice. I have an accessory and the first ice boost. They are in different tiers so they don't stack and so, for now, it hits pretty well. More than Yosuke's Garula (with accessory) and Yukiko's fire spells. I guess she will get worse on mid game, but like I said, in NG+ team composition hardly matters. She will come back in full force where it matter.
Or you give enemies less weaknesses, or more status effects or different movesets or some other things. But he has a point. Upping the hitpoints of an enemy doesn't really make it harder, just longer.
Now she doesn't have the SP to power charge and you're spending someone else's turn to give her SP
Dragon Hustle is one of those things that is great in theory but annoying in practice
Talking vanilla, where she doesn't get any crit ups and is stuck with Bufula/Mabufu for the whole game
I thought pretty much everyone agreed that there has to be a police detective rival. I mean, it's pretty much one of the foundations of the gentleman thief thing.
>Finally get round to watching Persona 4: The Golden
>In the last episode, Yu literally gets all his friends killed because he's worried that beating Izanami will stop him from being able to fuck Mari
The fuck, man.
is Etrian Odyssey super similar in mechanics to PQ? I know it's a reskinned EO game with a few Persona mechanics, but holy shit, I'm loving it more than the normal Persona gameplay. Circles, Links, just so many nice additions mixed in with weakness exploits make it feel super fresh. Fuck, I love this game.
Well, that much is true.
I ended up my first playthrough with Kanji, Naoto and Yukiko just because I liked those characters. Although Izanami was a bit too much of a hassle because of Naoto.
You're spending one turn every nine rounds to give her SP. That's opposed to spending a bunch of turns casting the buffs individually every three rounds. Dragon Hustle is great. It is THE best extra skill for the all the party members, except maybe Yukiko's.
And you can still power charge. She has ~290 SP at level 99. With the half SP item dragon hustle cost 75 SP so using it three times takes 225 SP. Which leaves plenty of SP for 15 SP power charge.
Except when resources are so common and so easy to replenish, it does nothing. It's like a bullet sponge boss in an FPS when you have a nearly endless supply of ammo. After the first dungeon (or few floors of Tartarus in the case of 3) SP isn't really much of an issue. Adding more HP only makes enemies more of a threat if they're actually a threat in the first place.
Because I haven't seen it, so I didn't know it was shit until I started?
And the first episode was pretty fun. It kept getting worse, but there were some genuine highlights. The Adachi fight was pretty hype.
Last time I checked MAL everyone was complaining about it, everytime it's brought up either here, on /v/ or /a/ people shit on it so hard, it completely derails the thread and stops any other discussion. You were one step or post away from not wasting your time on that garbage.
No, let me rephrase it
They removed charm ij P4 and just made enemies that were affected by confusion hit their allies and throw money
But charm used to make enemies hit their allies and heal enemies
Un P4 there is no way to make enemies heal allies
It works a bit differently. It actually pulls your party members to him and can't be resisted (except in the sense that someone may struggle and refuse to attack you)
>genuinely letting other peoples opinions decide whether you give something a chance
I wouldn't recommend it as a whole to anybody, but there were a few scenes that are definitely worth a watch.
>yfw there will be teasers like this on 5/5/15
So, what's the story behind these guys?
I don't remember much from the game
I need to turn down Yukiko but I can't bring myself to do it. She's too sweet. Help me, /pg/.
>Turning down the best romance option of P4
If you were going for Rise, that might be understandable, but still.
What's with this influx of people having trouble turning down Yukiko?
I don't believe it, I think you're just trying to make her seem more popular.
>implying I would turn down second best girl for worst girl
Fuck it, I'll just press the button quick and get it over with.
It's literally just one guy. Me. Two posts including the one I just made ain't really an influx. Yukiko seems like she would be popular with normalfags, though.
>Yukiko seems like she would be popular with normalfags, though.
I've heard this said about Rise, too. And Chie. And Yukari. And probably a few others at some point.
I call it an influx because it's a really specific problem to have and it popped up more often than I'd expect in such a short timeframe (ie, more than once).
Though hearing that you're bringing up the topic again for some reason when we already went over it makes me wonder what were you expecting to hear.
>popular with normalfags
I thought that was Chie
>a mysterious "other" to which all strange, different, or unpalatable tastes can be applied to or blamed on?
That's tumblr, normie and fujo have definitions. Not that I'm complaining about it
I'd figure Yukiko would be popular with normalfags because she's nice
but pretty blandand thus relatively inoffensive. I could see a lot of more casual players thinking Chie or Rise are kinda obnoxious.
Normies don't want nice, proper girls.
Tumblr has a definition too
She's bland in a way that is profoundly unfun.
Chie and Rise are more fun. If you do things with them you will have more fun. Normalfags like fun. If fun is too intense for you, you go with Yukiko.
Yukiko isn't bland, she's subtle
The correct term is "femi-fiend"
>Lucina is best girl
There's so fucking many though you can't choose just one
Don't compare my waifu to the plank of wood with the personality of a block of wood.
Because you keep posting here instead of even attempting to breathe any kind of life into your dead general
It's saturday in burgerland so the shitposting goes up as all the underage don't have school
We should not merge. Let /smtg/ die, then try to bring back the thread several times only to die quickly each time. Then /smtg/ regulars pile into /pg/ until they get reported and banned. Then finally after much begging and groveling, we'll become the /smtg/ of old and go back to the timeless SMT/Persona arguments.
>genuinely letting other peoples opinions decide whether you give something a chance
Why the hell not? When every place you check shits on it and lists pretty much the same reasons why it's bad, no matter where you go then there must be something wrong with it. If you are familiar with the franchise/source material you can also determine if you are going to enjoy or hate it by looking at the complaints. Just repeating other peoples' opinion sure is retarded, but reviews like that also work as warnings. The few scenes you mentioned, and I'm guessing are the Adachi episodes and the Christmas, episode are nice to watch and are also brought up every time someone asks if P4GA is worth watching.
Here, have this http://myanimelist.net/anime/19315/Pupa . Would you really watch it after reading other peoples experiences? Do you really need to experience the shittness yourself?
Best Hero and Partner.
Adam and Eve, Clone Jesus and Mother-Girlfriend, Samurai and Wristwatch AI need not apply.
If you can tell the difference and understand that Naoto is better, you're fine. Otherwise, I just think you're a manwhore who likes the color blue.
>implying Lucina is my waifu and not just my favourite girl from FE:A
>implying I should handicap myself by not marrying my player character just because I have a waifu
>implying I don't like Lucina because she's the most like muh waifu Naoto
>Samurai and Wristwatch AI need not apply.
Because if you do see it you will understand why it is bad and be able to voice that opinion without relying only on what other people have told you. You can form an opinion for yourself. In this case it probably will be the same as the general consensus but if you're invested enough in the franchise to regular a board dedicated for it, and you're interested in this spinoff/in why everyone says it's so bad, there's no reason not to experience it yourself so that you can really understand what other people are talking about when they bring the subject up.
It always turns out shitty though.
Then I give up and look at good drawings on the internet.
To be fair, the Demi-Fiend had quite possibly the shittiest friends in existence. He probably wanted to kill them before the game even started.
The fact that their Reasons were stupid just made it even easier.
I can't for the life of me understand how people think JRPG and WRPG are different genres of RPG as opposed to a geographic difference. Let's put our heads together here, folks. JRPG stands for Japanese Role-Playing Game. WRPG stands for Western Role-Playing Game. In an ideal world these stupid titles wouldn't exist because in the end, regardless of where a game is made, it's a ROLE-PLAYING GAME. Regardless, we're stuck with the names, but every time there's a discussion on the top WRPG of the year, some fool has to mention Dark Souls.
It's a JRPG. No, JRPG is not a genre. Action RPG is a genre, which Dark Souls is.
And I know some people will say, "but Dark Souls is nothing like Final Fantasy." That's because Final Fantasy isn't an action-RPG, but they're both JRPGs. You wouldn't go and say King's Bounty and Deus Ex aren't both WRPGs because they play completely differently from one another, so why try and separate Dark Souls from other JRPGs?
Dark Souls is just as much of an action-RPG as Tales of Vesperia is and just as much of an action-RPG as Mass Effect is. You are in full control of your characters actions and success is based just as much on your reflexes as it is your stats.
So let's stamp out the ignorance already, JRPG is not a genre. I don't get why so many users here try and act like JRPGs all suck, but when they find one they like, it suddenly isn't a JRPG.
>Demi-Fiend had the balls to kill his friends.
I just started Nocturne, do I actually get to fight them in their pseudo-fiend forms, or do they die in a cutscene or some bullshit.
Pretty much. Even MC and Yu wouldn't bond with those assholes.
"Sorry, you took too long risking your life to save me. Guess I need to make my own world now and kill everyone who disagrees."
They'll always be shitty for the first few years but if you get past that eventually you'll start making stuff that's good
It's really a matter of sticking to it if it's just a hobby thing
Unless you side with them, or just choose the Demon ending, you're obliged to kill at least one of your friends in a boss battle.
If you go world of silence, true demon or freedom, then you have to kill both.
JRPG kinda is a genre, though. Yes, it is synonymous with turn based RPG's like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, etc. so people will use the term JRPG to refer to those games. I never said Dark Souls was a WRPG, just that it wasn't a JRPG. But obviously there are problems with a genre being specified by where it was made. If I had it my way, the terms JRPG and WRPG would both disappear from existence and we'd be more specific with what games are called. Although, I have problems with a lot of games being called RPG's in any capacity, but that's kinda unrelated.
And sorry if this post is disjointed or I accidentally repeated what you said or something, I'm pretty tired.
It's stupid. He picks up a message from the teacher he has a crush on asking the Demi-Fiend to come and save her.
He freaks out because he realizes that he's literally a fucking nobody in the vortex world and starts to resent the Demi-Fiend.
He's like a fusion between the worst parts of Yosuke and Junpei.
I've only briefly read about the story since I was interested and don't care about spoilers before playing an SMT game, but doesn't one of the endings have them both alive in the end, after you like reset the world or some shit?
No, it's an actual world where everybody achieves union with the universe, essentially a universal Nirvana.
Unfortunately, reaching that state requires giving up all emotion and desire, along with much of your sense of self.
It's better than the White ending, in that it's an actual ending.
In that case, be more clear with your statements
You reset the world, and Lucifer sends you an email telling you to keep your demon powers because YHVH is a little unhappy that you derailed millenia of work and killed his alter-ego.
Those people suffer and sacrifice themselves so you don't have to. You don't have to have and voice your opinion on everything, leave it to the poor people who fell for the trap because they didn't do any research or had to experience it when it was still airing. You also don't need to experience somehting to fully understand why it's bad. Do you need to be hit by a car to understand why running over people is bad? Do you need to put your cat in a washing machine and turn in on to see it won't end well? Saying "they cut out tons of stuff, replaced x with y, changed a for b" and giving exapmles in general is enough to understand what is so bad with something and why people hate it so much.
Its worth watching at 4x speed, but playing it normally whenever waifu of your choice is on screen.
The Christmas episode is great from start to finish though.
Kinda like Maries dungeon in game, they snuck in one good thing to surprise you
But maybe I just want the experience of shoving a cat into a washing machine
Definitely would have a story to tell afterwards.
nothing better than autistically fusing over and over until you get victory cry from a skill change day
>tfw can't be good immediately
>have to withstand my own shitty drawings for years before they're good
I like the way they changed fusion in P4G. I found myself spending more time deciding what skills I should take on Personas when I can choose what I want over the game doing it for me and getting the one or two skills I wanted in the first place.
As somebody who plays guitar, it's kinda like learning to play an instrument in some ways. You know you're shit early on, and that you're gonna be shit for a while, but you wanna keep improving because progress is fulfilling, and seeing that improvement is really satisfying. And then one day you'll be able to do shit you didn't even think was possible to do when you first started out. Pick up a pencil, get drawing, and don't give up. You can do it, anon.
Nah, I'll just accept the fact I can't draw for shit.
Well then, you're hopeless. Enjoy being Adachi.
Or do this: >>97243707
I'm actually okay at photoshop.
Great. That's why I'm asking. I read about the save glitches but if they're fixed, great! I'll start playing PS3:FES then. Thanks.
Oh, that's unfortunate. I hope that Persona games doesn't have that kind of issues.
>Multiple opportunities to hit on the other girls over the course of the game's story
>You can even hit on Kanji and Yosuke
>Can't flirt with Naoto outside of her social link
>She's not present for 80% of the game, and most of the new events in P4G
>She doesn't even wear a kimono on New Year's Day
Being a Naotofag is true suffering.
It's in character, and I'd be surprised if she wore a kimono
But man, IT'S JUST UNFAIR.
>Activate ignore mode
What do you think of the Movies? /pg/?
I liked Fuuka's introduction in the first one a lot
The second one protrayed Ken and Shinji well, and Aigis introduction was kind of awkward
>can hit on my girl basically every time
>she's around from before the campout, which i think is the very first event
>is present for nearly the entire game
>wears a kimono on new years day
woe is you
>Tells the other guy to go away asking for a discussion of something on topic in a thread for said discussion.
What is the damn logic you people have? The Smash stuff last thread was apparently fine, but suddenly this other guy's question isn't?
I liked the parts of the first one where they kept zooming in on Yukari's thighs.
I can't take any of the drama in the second one seriously though, which is weird because I really let the game sucker me into its angsty stuff.
Beyond hyped for an Answer movie. I still think it will get made, and I still think it'll end up being the one good one.
I-It's just not fair.
Why did us Naotofags have to get the
shortend of the stick? Why is Atlus so cruel?
Good taste. Lady's kind of a bitch but we can let that one slide.
Answer movie mite b cool
unless it's directed by the P4GA guy
So, have we ever figured out why the only good waifus have a native arcana lower than five?
Not to mention the only good fanbases, look at all the butthurt coming from the aigisifags and chiefags and mariefags and whoever else, just since they're waifu's got called bad
Because they are the closest to infinite possibilities concerning the Fool.
Zen and food obsessed Maki are too cute
how the fuck do potatos look
why are they so hard to draw
how do you make things look like a potato
fuck this shit
nigga the boat doesn't even look like a potato yet, that's not what you wanted to see
never said I can draw. the only reason she is not wearing a moth skin is because she didn't look Naoto enough and a moth head on top of a hat looked silly
She looks too much like Aigis without the hat, draing her with long hair probably was a better idea
P2 secretly has the best OST in the series, just don't let the P3 fans hear you say it.
