So guys, i'm interested in your opinions
I'm running at 73 with a crit freeze pulser in the 1msc, and I'm trying to decide on the defensive bonuses of getting a CoD or using a voll's
I'm running HoT+ass mark atm, and while it is pretty damn consistent with getting power charges up, there are still some times when I'm low on them. When I have 7 charges up, I'm basically freezing everything most of the time.
Switching to voll's means I can swap out the ass mark for temp chains, and I feel that that combined with my crit is going to make me a lot safer than I am now.
However, CoD is CoD. I could run a several levels higher arctic armour, and I'd still be freezing most things
So... more consistent crit and freeze or the mitigation of CoD+AA?
it used to have a large chest
they got rid of them because it encouraged botting
now it's shit. i don't know why people farm it
i guess it's for people who are too shit to farm piety/maps and too high level for docks
my first RIP in Maps was to that boss, I was playing a super fast attack speed char and playing blind though, so I got an excuse.
Was it the guy first time on that map or what? How could you get to 88 and not know that boss.
grab facebreakers and get flat phys dmg on everything you can, and oneshot everything with cyclone or infernal blow forever
you should have a bunch of armour and then a cwdt-ic setup so even if reflect damages you, you become immune to it long enough to kill the pack anyways, also ib is just for leveling before you get cyclone and can manage the mana cost of it
Most people would consider resistance nodes to be a waste of points and a noob trap, but getting 60 all res on the tree just because it's on my path has made gearing up easy as hell. Can cap res (including chaos res!) with mostly life-only gear. Could easily cap res for ele weakness maps as well, saving up on alts. Sure you sacrifice a bit of dps, but the easiness of gearing is just so good. Thoughts?
post 2hu then /kissu
most of your damage is phys so ele reflect doesnt matter at all
i dont participate in any of the typical tumblr stuff, i just use it for pictures of cute girls
But I just wanted to learn how to touhou in poe.
fireball with gmp and spell echo
vaal spark, try this http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1215068
its easier than it sounds
you only need 135-145% resist. you can easily get 70% all res from jewelry. at least 20% all rest from belt and boots. leaving the 35ish % missing on auras, passive tree, and/or chest and gloves and head. this means you can wear up to 4 uniques with no resists and still be capped without using auras as long as you get well rolled yellows for the rest
if you run shield, thats a further 25%+ all res you can look to
capping resist isnt hard. overcapping them all and raising the max resist % is what becomes tricky
>WTB RUSH FROM NORMAL TO MERCILESS, proceeds to die 20 times at merveil
>dying 50 times to a boss, using >we'll get it eventually tactic
>who cares about HP when you have damage LOL
>dont worry guys, I can lowlife with 200 hp and 20 ES, I have damage :^)
>using 2x mjolners
>using 2x mjolners
for what purpose?
what would you even cast on the second one
You get respec points from a few of the quests in the game and there are semi-rare drops called orbs of regret which will give you another respec point when used. One respec point lets you respec one node, so it takes quite a few in order to completely respec, but you can alter your build up quite a bit.
Help me with my softcore shitter.
Marauder dual-wielding 2 siege axes. Uses static strike. Oak at all difficulties i think. I don't have any problem but I want to improve it somehow.
use a better skill, ss is really immobile and doesnt offer much reward for the risk
ive played a ss character, i felt like a retard having to stop to attack all the time while having no range, stuff like lightning strike and cyclone are much better
I dont know if this would work
I went maximum softcore on this one and I dont care
yes but usually if you're casting a spell or using tornado shot you oneshot everything without it getting close to you so stopping doesnt matter
as far as melee skills go, stopping in the middle of a pack of monsters to hit things gets really dangerous, especially with something like ss because if you desync you're literally a wet noodle standing in the pack of them
>1. milner is only a 3 socket
I know, I wanted to make it look like you have a choice between gmp+balls or arc
>2. the same spell has the same cooldown if it's from the same trigger gem
arc doesnt have a cooldown, just a long cast animation, I believe?
also, mjolners have low crit chance so 0.05s cd from CoC shouldnt bottleneck it too much?
I posted >>99334526 and wanted to see how softcore can I go with that build
Armor loses effectiveness in a BIG BIG way vs big hits. It only helps small hits.
20k armor is less effective than mom, youd need around 35-40k for it to break even
but then a build that supports mom can also easily support aa, a combo which is a lot better than armor
>responding with a meme response instead of continuing the conversation
i prefer cyclone, but i could see flicker strike and leap slam being fun alternatives, mobility is key when getting into the later levels
at least you're damaging in all directions, so if you desync next to enemies you're still hitting them, while with something targeted like ss you wont often be hitting anything
>so if you desync next to enemies you're still hitting them
>actually believing this
Cyclone desyncs you so hard you will be at the next map trying to hit shit. SS doesn't have desync issue unless you are retarded and don't use shift to attack.
ive never ever had that much of an issue with desync
>using ib ouside of leveling
also if you set your defences up correctly, reflect shouldnt be an issue
elaborate, i have 3 seperate people, in seperate leagues, try IB as melee. The damage was fantastic but every single ele pack required careful execution and sometimes would just involve him having to face tank shit until he can single target down the reflect mob, even with purity + barbarism
life leech gem with vaal pact or just using a high max fire resist setup with a ruby flask
or just run cyclone full time with armour and ic and life leech and be able to faceroll into a pack of either phys reflect or ele reflect mobs
>There's a downside to the damage
You are only using this for ele ref packs
>requiring an actual decent weapon in the swap
Just replace some gems.
Also I have to agree with>>99349535
posting for someone in the guild
chaining 77s is still definitely worth it, if you can chain them quick that is
I haven't played in years. since 2011 I think. Is there a compiled list of patch notes or something somewhere? I know there are things like hideouts or lairs or whatever now, how much do they factor into gameplay? Or are they some pointless MTX cash shop bait.
Hideouts by themselves don't bring anything new gameplay wise, besides the massive convenience of the map device which makes the laboratory obsolete once you get Zana
Masters totally changed the way crafting works though, FM was a huge expansion
>people spend thousands on top end gaming machines and still have crashes and low fps
>my 5 year old budget pc is working fine
>tfw ive run some 40 maps
>no zana in sight
What the Fuck is this bitch doing.
>nugi dies to crash
>redditors use it as an excuse to never play hardcore
which one for a flicker strike build /poeg/?
i hate most maps but i'll list my favorites
>66: tropical island
>67: mountain ledge
>68: spider lair
>70: underground sea
>72: jungle valley
special mention: any map with double-double bosses(museum, arcade, courtyard) because you can vaal the map and get a fuck ton of sacrifice pieces
I've never seen the Villa boss's traps ever do anything. Just don't stand still.
Dungeon's Brutus is pretty strong,
Orchard's boss is pretty strong (devourer) and can get some serious bullshit going on in his arena,
Museum boss is triple fast dickbags which can come at you ghosted, if you can't instagib them they might instagib you,
Springs map is pretty easy but the boss does use detonate dead,
Graveyard is Merveil plus magic mobs, can be tough,
Jungle Valley is the spider boss from act 2 which summons a whole bunch of flicker striking magic and rare mobs, does really high damage and can be very hard,
Torture Chamber is Shock and Horror which has a unique attack laser which does ridiculously high DoT which you have to run out of line of sight around the pillars to stop, and summons lightning warp totems which can stack up and instgib you if you don't move,
Dark forest is Oak, which can be tough if he has damage mods, and that map as devourers,
Maze can be hard if you've got the boss speed mods, it's the Vaal Oversoul you can potentially get stunlocked by the laser attack to death,
Necropolis is Merveil with part 2 added,
Residence is first form of Dominus, which is by far the hardest part of Dominus, but you've got a big arena for him so he's not terrible,
Academy is Intellectus Prime, the library boss, who can spam his tornados and books at you and do some really high damage, and his arena is pretty annoying,
Shrine is high level Piety, courtyard is the trio non-demon trio before Dom and palace is both forms of Dom. They're all tough mostly because they're high level so they deal a lot of damage.
Map difficulty is the boss. Or alternatively the number of devourer mobs on the map.
Jungle Valley boss isn't completely terrible if you use something like Vaal Summon Skeletons though. Because most of the flicker strike spiders are spawned right at the start.
Everyone is on the 1M. And in those everyone doing masters is in Global 820.
i will trade a taste of hate in sc1mo for fusings in hc1mo
dang my eyes work good
>trying to be elitist about avoiding bosses
make sure your alt+f4 macro is working properly and don't forget to use it whenever your health drops below 80%
jungle valley boss is literally more rippy than uber atziri
and it's only a lvl72 map which means it can't drop the best loot
it's fucking stupid to even attempt that boss because there is literally no reward, and that's what HC is all about: risk vs reward
>jungle valley boss is literally more rippy than uber atziri
>hc shitters actually believe this
Jungle Valley as this>>99365326 anon said is easier to some people.
>tutorialcore shitters desperately trying to justify farming a lvl72 boss
granted i have -14% res with this build and 4.4k hp i think it's still valid to show this boss is just specialized.
didn't even have to touch a pot
>getting rekt this hard
>that video of getting someone's account VAC banned
>stop looking at the thread for a bit
>hc fag superiority complex running rampant again
guess they have to shitpost cause they're bored from standing in town scared to do maps cause they'll die
poopcore players safely grind out their next level so they can die 50 times trying to down retarded shit like the jungle valley boss without losing experience
it's pretty hypocritical
reported for off topic
dont shitpost with kripp images please, it defiles his image also most of my posts are related to the game, i just throw images on them because text posts are boring
Dont throw anime related images on them then
Try to make and encourage OC, even if its shitty mspaint tier shit
Dont post as much useless information (as you often do). Dont spoonfeed, let faggots read the wiki like real men. Dont listen to me.
And my post was neither a shitpost nor was it off-topic; it was meta.
And I can post Kripp all I want. He has defiled himself enough with his girlfriend and his fucking Hearthsnore streams
>tfw you realize there's no reason to play shitcore
it doesnt hurt anyone to discuss elements of the game with other people in the thread, useless information or not, and i like being helpful to new players, the >spoonfeeding meme is a bad one
i used to drawfag and i would for this thread but i hurt my hand pretty bad in an accident and cant really anymore
i pretty much use it as a testing bed for my league builds so I can find out if something will work or not.
Also there isn't any reason to play any video game at all, it is all a waste of time.
actually I always tell people to not log out. it's more likely to kill you than save you. you can see a twitch reflex there where he thinks, "oh shit, I'm gonna die" then drops to 100 health, tries to log and dies. if he just played through it without even thinking about logging he would have lived.
>just want to rush through poopcore for the mtx
>every fucking zone has a corrupted zone
Okay, after literally months of testing, I've found out something interesting about PoE's RNG pseudo-system.
The first few maps and master missions you will do in day after a span of 24 hours will have much better RNG, loot, drops, etc.
My log in order would be Zana>Elreon>Vorici>Tora
Starting Zana first would very often give a much higher level map (76-77-unique maps) than doing her last or second. Elreon missions first or second would often have more rare and orb drops than doing him last or after having "wasted" RNG on maps or other master missions.
This may seem like bullshit, but it's what I observed after autisticly playing PoE with this idea in mind since August.
As for maps, the first map that you do should be your highest leveled map (level wise: don't run 78s as a level 80 character, because thats fucking retarded), chiseled, alched and vaal'd for whatever you want if youre going for IIQ. Otherwise, use your "RNG pool" for easy magic mobs, rare mobs, beyond roll and increased pack size on your highest level easy maps (gorge, plateau, precinct, shipyard, palace) for very easy leveling and EXP.
The purpose for this (if you omit doing master missions first and go straight for maps) is that the first map of they day that you run has been empirically observed by me to have a incredible chance to have good strongboxes (gemcutter, arcanist, artisan) and/or good masters (Zana, Elreon)
Cont. let me know if you want my actual autistic statistics
i don't like vendoring items to Leo
he makes me feel homosex
So, with this in mind, you can manipulate your map rolls, RNG, etc. to get your desired map mods.
However, it goes both ways.
When I would play a lot straight for a shitter (6-8 hours a day) around 4-5 days a week, I would mostly notice that the "blessed RNG pool" would only last the first few master missions and the 1-3 first maps
Chaining maps past 4, no matter what level, would cost and increasingly large amount of alterations, alchs and scours to get the actual desired mods, compared the first map which would more often than not get it with the first alt stack or the first or second alchemy orb.
On the topic of actual item drops, I did not notice a large difference with rares or magic tier items. On the first map, there would obviously be a much, much larger quantity of rares in general, which would more likely than not have a better item base (imbued wands, diamond rings, etc). So you can take that for granted. I never got any GG unique items, but the first 1-2 maps would always drop at least 1-2 uniques (shit tier ones like Mightflay or Tiki). Uniques and actual decent rares were scarce past the 4th chained map.
A personal anecdote of mine was that I quit PoE for the summer, as I was working. When I finally started back up in August 2014, I went to my highest level character and joined a pub Dominus MF farm, which yielded me a Mjolner, which I sold for some exalts.
Text limit requires me to include the numbers in my following post
To summarize, I ran maps and took notes from October 2nd to March 31st. 181 days.
I played PoE on average 4-5 days a week. ~121.5 days PoE was launched and maps were run.
January = 31 Days = 4 weeks = ~18 days played
February = 28 Days = 4 weeks = ~18 days played
March = 31 Days = 5 weeks = ~22.5 days played
October = 31 Days = 5 weeks = ~22.5 days played
November = 30 Days = 4 weeks = ~18 days played
December = 31 Days = 5 weeks = ~22.5 days played
PLEASE note that I did not spend every waking minute playing PoE. I would run several maps, do masters, and shitpost in /poeg/.
On average, I would run between 5-9 maps. Never less than 5, and I could rarely overcome my inner casual to run the 9th. All maps run were over level 71. ~7 maps run per day, either sustained with the RNG pool, or purchased in bulk.
With ~7 maps a day for ~121.5 days, thats roughly 850 maps in 6 months. Really nothing impressive, but enough for disorganized statistics in notepad.
All maps were either alch'd or alt'd.
The _first_ map of the day that I rolled would roll INC pack size/magic mobs/rare mobs _within_ the first 15-29 alteration orbs, with a 71% chance of occuring out of ~121 "first day maps" noted down. There were occasionally duds in the RNG where it would be next to impossible to roll a map.
The second map of the day would generally roll the aforementioned mods within 26-44 alterations. Not as good, but still decent
cont. but I dont like reading notedpad stats
The second rolled map would still seemingly get a larger chance to roll the previously stated "positive" mods, which are generally more difficult to acquire.
Out of 121 samples (averaged again) the good mods would roll 52% of the time, as stated with between 26-44 alts. It should be mentioned that I would always reroll rolls that had failed a minimum of 50% base (would reroll a low more magic mobs roll which was re-obtained a tad higher with the maximum of 44 alts)
The third map of the day would always average out a much lower chance of getting the better mods, with 44%.
Again, this should be noted that this "better RNG" would always include masters/strongboxes in maps, always in the first map.
Another very very important point to mention that I've tested recently is that lapses in playing PoE will _sharply_ increasing chances of good rolls on maps, better drops. Once again, this may seems like asshit, but I'm currently testing it out. So far it seems like delays of 2-4 days between very heavy and intensive grinding will generally cause you to get much more favorable RNG in the first three maps, as well as the first master missions. I've only tested this out on the weekends where I would not play PoE and then spam alts on maps.
Most importantly, don't forget to open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur.
>I've tested recently is that lapses in playing PoE will _sharply_ increasing chances of good rolls on maps, better drops
tl;dr i've noticed this too. something else i've noticed is that if i use a currency or a bunch of a certain currency, it's more likely to drop. like for example i won't have a vaal orb drop in a thousand runs then randomly i'll decide to use one, within the next few runs, a vaal orb will drop. this is anecdotal of course and i'll never actually test it because ultimately i don't give a shit.
Yeah, the vaal orb thing has happened a _lot_ to me recently.
I'll chisel>alch>vaal a map, and the I'm basically guaranteed to get at least one chisel, alch and vaal in the map. Basically like a free refund.
What an arcane system.
But you're right
What a waste of time all this was.
lots of people are dying
lots of top50 players and 3 ppl in my group have died
>Attempt to buy 10 Alcs off someone
>Offer something relatively puny
>They give me 20
SC as in literally Standard League or SC as in SC Challenge League?
>moving up in the ladder, almost top 50 in 1MHC
>midterm week about to start
Why can't I just be a NEET
are you literally fucking retarded, just like goldrim it's bis for leveling so its price will never be 1 fucking chaos in a temp league
>tfw you waste 45 alts to get a bleed removing flask and you still don't have one
I dropped 200 alts to get my flasks. I rolled 3 of them correctly after 60 alts, the other two had 140 alts with zero progress so I just said fuck it and bought them for a few chaos, even got 20% and perfect rolls. From now on, I'm probably gonna just do that outright after the first 100 alts.
>implying i wasnt 4/4 x2 before you
so that means you should just start playing the dead leagues again right :))))))
what the fuck is wrong with this guy
when looking for a cheapish bow on poetrade, do i just look for 250-300+ DPS?
and with DPS i mean the exact DPS stat, or is the damage range more important or the pDPS stat or the eDPS stat whatever the fuck they mean..
okay i should have been farming this sooner for uniques
>there are people who think flameblast is actually a decent build
I just tried leveling flameblast for the first time for the 1month.
The damage was average, but the playstyle was horrible. Significantly less interesting to level than most builds. In fact, summoner and maybe arc are the only contenders for a worse leveling experience.
It didnt even feel like a proper build until lvl 75.
What gives? Why the flameblast dickriding?
why isnt it good?
Sure its a pain to use but it is pretty safe and the clear speed is ok, with the right build you can be immune to reflect, cant say that about many caster builds.
What would you suggest? Name me 4 builds that are better at mapping and I will bow down to your superiority
I only have gear enough to get 4k health. But I have 2k energy shield. Dropping it for eldritch battery seems like a bad idea even if I can then run arctic armour arctic armour isn't worth 2k of health, right?
use lightning warp
teleport near mooks
spin around until room clear
Incinerate > GMP > Spell echo > faster casting > added chaos
use faster projectiles instead of added chaos or faster casting if you don't have a quality incinerate.
>with the right build you can be immune to reflect
but to get that build you could run anything else. it's not a good build when built to full spec, it's mediocre at best. as a cheap built, it's incredibly vulnerable to reflect as evidence by the countless hc reflect death rips to it.
>be hardcore player
>see a rare monster
>shit my pants and alt+f4 simultaneously
>log back in and go farm so i can beat the rare monster and not have to alt+f4 every 5 minutes
>die to a rare monster while farming because my alt+f4 macro didnt work
>lose 100 hours of my life
>go to /poeg/ to talk about how standard players are retards and subhumans
super rare achievement lvl 1 no iiq/iir
do you guys think people have made dildos in the shape of poe totems
Im never gonna be able to afford a CoD since the jews are buying all the cheap ones and forcing the 4EX price.
Can I just use the tree MoM and run AA? I manage to have 500+ unreserved mana for it before act 3Merc using regular armor/es gear with 3.5k hp. Cant survive vaal smash but should be fine for mapping til 80 right?
A4 Dream Patchnotes
- More gems gained by quests
- Desync fixed
- integration of OpenConflict which makes maphacks impossible http://crypto.stanford.edu/~dabo/pubs/abstracts/onlinegames.html
- Huge Improvement to servers.
- Scion nodes buffed
- Ice Spear +30% damage
- More uniques allowing conversion of damage types
So does the leech block on infractem apply to mana as well?
How the fuck do T-shot rangers manage to not go OOM with it?
Other than thief's torment which is 1 exa right now and not an option.
Happy Easter, you n33t turbonerds, cum-guzzling animefaggots, you based mancore players, you pussycore players, you RMTers, you botters, you maphackers, you shitposters and Hans.
It makes sense if you're not a gayfag.
Unless you're going to post a picture involving your butt, a dildo, and insertion, don't bother replying
How did Nugi die to reflect? he was wearing Saffel's and running purity of lightning if I'm not mistaken, how does he get absolutely destroyed in 2 hits like that to a simple small reflect pack?
Headhunter is expensive in shitcore because it is incredibly difficult to roll, as you need to use a Zana modded map, with chance orbs and leather belts. Scouring orbs optional.
What really kills the price is how much sheer FUN headhunter is. Getting monster auras and mods makes you a literal killing machine that rips through maps at the speed of light. Its not entirely practical for bosses like Atziri, but for most general maps, its quite insane.
It would be kawaii as fug, and I would get harder than a 20 second Vaal Immortal Call.
T-t-t-too lewd is just an easy way out.
How correct is the DPS tooltip? I can't tell if while using incinerate with iron will and 247 strength is better than 21% fire penetration and 6% more fire damage. If it helps I'm using spell echo and GMP with incinerate as well.
no one has a fucking -8 elreons unset ring in hc1mo
once you get to 90 you might want to save chisels and alchs for 76+
tell me something we dont all know
at least we have our /poeg/ memes
too bad the animefags are cancer that inhibit all forms of OC from our based mancore players
>Have gone from level 81 to level 82 from grinding the docks
>Two full runs didn't even give me 1% towards next level
>Made several exalts worth of sacrifice fragments from it, despite sac pieces being practically worthless in HC
How do you like my OCD, /poeg/?
