What Pokemon would you start with irl?
Post a bit about yourself, and where you are from, and the thread shall choose what fits!
>grad student in history, was in chemistry as undergrad
>grew up on farm in north Wisconsin
>pianist, trying to write music, not really sure what to study for college or if I should really go at all
>grew up in a small town in southern California, lots of Mexicans and Vietnamese people
I think I would start with Larvesta. Little bug speaks to me.
>Moved a lot as a child but mostly grew up in the Appalachians (West Virginia, Virginia) in more rural areas
>studied fisheries in college; into animals, needlework and reading
>grew up in a slightly more urban city in Tennessee, college town
>heavily involved in the music and art scene, writer (poetry/prose) who hangs w/ the punks and the art freaks
I dunno tbh. I'll let board decide
Actually very okay with this, I wake up to a bunch of crows screaming every day around here anyway, and I always did like witchy stuff. Murkrow would probably get along with me.
You don't know SHIT SON!!! You get a Weedle and you will train the shit out of it and you will like it.
>From Florida, still live there, kind of the middle of nowhere between two cities. Not rural, not suburban, just sort of... There.
>Applying for disability for a variety mental health problems.
>30 years old, no job, live with family, not spiritual but open minded to the paranormal while not having found anything that can be proven enough to believe in.
>Visits here, /toy/ (Lego), /co/ (Star Wars), and /x/
26 years old

Goes to the gym a fair amount, used to do boxing at uni
Favourite color is blue
Chose charmander as my starter in gen one
On 4chan i visit /vp/ /int/ and /tv/ the most
I'm from Albuquerque New Mexico.
Failure of an artist and currently an assembly worker for a medical supply company.
I Spend most of my free time alternating between browsing the internet, doodling and playing video games.
I start many projects and different video games but hardly ever finish them.
>undergrad in Environmental sciences, grad gonna be marine biology or zoology
>not the most social person ever, socially selective I guess
>prefer storm and win over sun and sunny weather
>fav colors black, blue, white
>sometimes quiet, sometimes not
You guys better give me a Haunter or Umbreon or I'll be sending my Gyarados after you.
>grew up in Middle Europe in small town
>always been interested in languages, currently studying to be an interpreter
>listen to music whenever I can
>recovering from being a friendless loser
Give me your best shot /vp/
Intelligent, yet antisocial to the maximum.
I exercise daily and am quite muscular.
Quiet, shy and paranoid. I have terrible eyesight.
Draw quite a bit, mainly knights.
I've attempted suicide already. *This* close to succeeding but I miraculously didn't die.
Have at it.
Self-made normalfag. Had to go through a bunch of bullshit to get where I am, but it made me into an extremely capable person.
I'm older than most people on this board and I hate the constant negativity and shitposting that takes place here, but I stay because Pokemon.
I live in the US, east coast.
Nurse. I love to write, draw and dance but the one thing ive always wanted to be is to be stronger and to gain some bulk to be able to help weak and sick people more. If only I have a buddy to help me do that, I will be the happiest trainer.
Born in London, raised by the seaside, now live back in London.
Was going to start basic training in the army, but I tore the ligaments in my knee so I was pulled out.
Now I'm an assistant manager of a pub, and an amateur boxer hoping to turn pro.
I'm a 'funny guy' in my group of friends and have a bad pun for every occasion.

>grown up in warsaw, poland, in an upper middle class family

>born and raised in some shitty rural town in Australia
>studying comp sci, kinda alright at it
>somewhat socially awkward, though I'd consider myself a leader in a lot of situations
>always appear to be happy, though I'm quite pessimistic
I honestly don't know what I'd choose
>going to college to become either an animator or vidya creature/character designer
>grew up on the east side of cleveland
>kind but debatable mental health, getting better
>Aussie, been a country and city boy growing up
If I were starting from when I was young, I would probably have a porygon because I was obsessed eith video games. If I were picking one now, I would go with spritzee. I'm not really effeminate, but I am a homo so most people would assume I'm a fop anyway if I had one. I'm from bumfuck nowhere in Missouri, so if someone has a better suggestion I'm all ears.
My starter pokemon :)
>grew up in south of England, little Hobbit-like village
>lots of woodland and paths and picturesque, overgrown red-brick areas and gates to public gardens
>enjoy walking around the place but mostly stay at home, not much else to do here
I'd probably end up with a Grass, Normal, Bug or Fairy type, but one thats not very active and/or small.
Probably something like Ledian, Stoutland, Granbull, Wormadam, Ambipom, Whimsicott, Simisage, and Dedenne.
I'd personally want Simisage the most Ambi and Ledi close second
>grew up in a small town near the ocean, spent literally every sunny and warm day at the beach
>had to move to another country, big rural area, basically a ghetto
>lost touch with most of my friends back then, still bad with people due to not knowing the language
>frequent street fights, started lifting and multiple martial arts to not get beat up as often as I did back then
your turn, /vp/
>grow up in a college town
>pic related location
>parents are professors at said college
kind of a spooky kid too
Furfag who is majoring in Biology and wants to make medicine for the sick. Grew up in sunny California.
OP you're a Wisconsinite too? Where you from? I'm at school in Madison but spend my summers up north by Boulder Junction. That being said
>Grew up in white people suburbs in WI
>Spend most of my weekends in the woods up north, love hiking, canoeing, camping etc.
>tfw no moose Pokemon so I'll settle for Teddiursa or Stantler
>Undergrad in anthropology, wants to be an archaeologist. Honors thesis in zooarchaeology on prehistoric dogs.
>grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas
>enjoys the outdoors, hiking, exploring

>Working as an intern and student in a Technical College, working on my graphical arts degree
>Hate nature but love going to new places and shopping
Who's my PokeBro, /vp/?
I want to say something like Lucario, but less edgy
A Chimeco would probably be the most helpful for you. A Gastly would also be a good foil.
Slowbro is a chill guy
>grew up on a farm in britbong
>good health from working at a young age
>sweet tooth and huge appetite
>don't really care much for the city and prefer middle of nowhere
Its a boring life
>really sarcastic and quite autistic with organization
>people tend to hate me at first, but when they know me better, I stop being the boriest person they had ever seen
I really think Cinccino, Whimsicott or Banette are probably the best choices
but i dont like barboach
I'm perfectly ok with Wooper
>tfw anyone involved with software or computers immediately gets assigned Porygon/Rotom/Magnemite
You guys realize Rotom and Magnemite would make life a living hell for people making their livings on computers, right?
>Live in Scandinavia
>Medium sized town
>Main hobby is music, main instrument is guitar.
>Other hobbies include camping, bird watching, getting high and hiking.
> Anti-social to an extend. (only girlfriend and three close friends)
>Love being alone in the wild nature, especially the woods, sometimes at night.
>Have a hot temper.
>Grew up in Florida
>I have fascination with myths and legends. Constantly getting myself spooked out reading about mysteries
>I also really enjoy nature, especially forests
>Studying fine arts currently
Hoping to work as a monster designer for a video game someday. Masahiro Ito is a huge inspiration.
You sound like yo would have an Emolga, Rufflet or Deerling, depending on your preference (deliberately chose gen 5 pokemon for the region, because you didn't give us much to work from)
I grew up in San Diego. At the college of my dreams, Ucsd studying to be a chemist. Own a small business only open during Events around San Diego. Two major events I got are Comic Con and the Balboa Park Centennial coming up this year.
Won't some strong pokemon or business savvy one help out?
Abra would start out since it sleeps all day on the farm
Muk. Moonlight introduced into sludge turned alive. Thats something id want to study biology to figure out and pollution a thing round there
Speaks and understands human language, can sing. Blond so fits right in. Can handle cold
>Grew up on a small island over the Arctic Circle
>Live and work near the sea
>Work in the fish industry, mostly pescetarian diet
>Swim/row around and raid islets for eggs in the summer and setting crab/lobster pots in autumn
Not being picky, but I'd love one that'd make an OK gym bro.
>Lead Programmer for a small company.
>I loathe excessive heat.
>I work best in bursts, my normal pace is actually pretty mediocre. (Though I'm working on it..!)
>I've improved myself massively in almost every respect recently.
>I'm reasonably hardy and am working on becoming more /fit/.
>On a side note why does it seem like with each post this thread has become "tell us your whole life story" instead of "where you grew up and a couple things about you"
Ah, sorry about that..!
I wasn't really trying to post a life-story, just stuff I figured showed my mindset.
Getting a Yamask feel.
>Chemistry major, published in Forensic journals
>Currently teaching high school chem
>Lived in a small village for ages
>Things always seem to work out even though I stupidly take the hardest/ pointlessly long way of doing things.
... I honestly don't know!
>grew up in Massachusetts, then PA
>graduating high school in 2 months (inb4 underage b&)
>majoring in comp sci
>Born and raised in Scotland
>Rains all the time, very depressing town
>Single parent father who was very poor/no job
>I move to the big city to get away from it all
>Almost finished uni with good results
go for it
>the only things you find worth mentioning about yourself are negative
A Litwick that's slowly sapping your life away. At first you thought it was just lights from swamp gas, but no! its a ghostie parasite!
>born and raised in the western regions of Philadelphia
>Spent many hours of my life on the play yard
>Pretty laid back person who enjoys a friendly game of basketball
>Knew some guys who were trouble makers around my parts
>We scraped knees and got in a small tussle
>My mom was a tad worried about my well-being after said fight
>She decides to fly me out to my relatives' mansion in Bel-Air, California.
Some call me a Prince, if that helps any.
>Born in rich zone inside third world country, family lost all money and went to a poor mountain city. Have had severe health issues and moved to Europe where I'm now finishing my career in Economics. I want to help developing poor nations.
I'm an undergrad in molecular & cellular biology
I want to be a lawyer, going to law school starting next semester

>Half-social, kind of closed in at first but friendly as you get to know me
>Run a lot
>Love to attempt programming, watch anime and play viijya in my free time
>grew up near the Richmond, Va area, never moved as a child
>currently studying to be a Marine Biologist and Art as a side thing
>like the beach and mountains, nature in general
>favorite season is winter
>been told I'm aggressive, uncaring, and suspicious of others, though I'm only this way to people I don't know well
Heatmor if you started in Arizona, Ferroseed if you started in Michigan. You choose.
Possibly Winter Deerling because Virginia has a fuck-ton of deer, possibly Tentacool based on marine biology and personality.
Def wouldn't mind getting a Walrein eventually, but I don't quite see what there is to do with a Quagsire, other than keeping it like a fat strange-looking housecat.
That's a pretty good one, did not think of that myself.
I thought about a Mudkip (Mega Swampert's back and forearms godDAMN), or a Lapras for getting around on the sea.
>tfw you're the only poster in here without any responses
>IT major in a community college transfering up to a real university next fall
>Enjoy Nintendo games
>Other games I like: Fire emblem, SMT, Rune Factory, Sonic
>Just bought new 3ds
>Grew up in Midwest, moved around a lot though in the interim
Who do I get /vp/ ?
Assuming you're the PA/Mass guy
Part of me wants to tell you nothing personal, Elekid. Otherwise, something that embraces the coldsnap like Snover... though that kind of feels more Colorado.
I'm gonna say Abra, eventually turning into M-Alakazam. He's got that there beard and the brains and shit.
Instead of repeating myself, I'll say Metagross, since it has that crazy brain.
If you end up in tech support, you'll need a special Whismur with Soundproof and Bide.
>Lifelong Southern Arizona Native (you know the desert part) in one of the two actual cities
>enjoy biking, hiking, camping et cetera
>work in a petstore
I feel like there are some that are obvious, but something really cool could come from left field.
Sandshrew and sandslash have always been pretty cool, I'm not holding out hope it would ever get a mega (or if it does, that it'll be a good mega) but it's on my wishlist. I'll take it!
Maybe a growlithe for its evolution's historical significance and its resemblance of a regular pet dog.
Anyway, for me:
>Living in Seattle
>Studying computer science and interaction design
>All about achieving maximum cozy
You like in the Erie/Crawford area. Sweet I didn't know anyone else here was. Hows the 814 area code treating you? Winter sucked this year didn't it?
Oh yeah also wouldn't it be awesome to do battle before the Bicentennial tower lit up with all sorts of lights?
(for those of you who don't know what this tower is its basically my towns 'Because we felt like building it' tower.)
Heh, yeah, this place has the WORST air to exercise under. I never thought MUK of all things would be a good study buddy for that stuff (I'd say Koffing would fit this role better, but Muk is more easily found.)
Lived in a small town up near lake Erie most of my life, Then moved out to a small rural town to get away from the city when I was about 13. Would have been perfect to start meh journey, but heh... dreams don't come true much anymore. *Sadface*
I always wanted a nice pidgey to start off with. Find more and become a traveler who could defeat many opponents, not the best but good. Then find the legendary Articuno and capture it to be my own.
Then I'd continue on and maybe get with some nice trainer girl and travel to the big cities out west. or further east.
Been my dream meng...
I really with there was a slightly more adult Pokemon game with more grown up characters and a little more emotion as well as more serious plots. Or hell maybe an online MMO free to play for PC coded in java or something.
Maybe its my mission to do such a thing...
Is there such a game out there already or anyone interested in such a thing?
School in NYC
Started as an education major but moved onto criminal justice (wanna eventually work as a PI)
Friends describe me as melancholy and stoic but loyal and reliable. I'm also very sarcastic to the point where people don't know I'm joking and they get insulted.
I was a small but scrappy kid, got into a lot of fights because of my short temper, usually for some stupid reason. My parents mostly let me do my own thing but were suitably stern when I got into trouble.
Grew up in a Massachusetts suburb near Boston Harbor. Spent summers on my dad's small boat, my favorite part of which was visiting the forests out on the Harbor's islands.
I've always loved gardening/cooking, and I currently run a sandwich shop which I'm pretty ok with.
How did you know I liked Rhyhorn so much?
>NEET with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Favorite boards are /vp/ and /pol/. Would visit /x/ more often if it wasn't cancer central. Some interest in the occult; devised a shoddy ritual for Ebola-chan during the winter solstice.
>Born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Never fully rural, but never in the middle of the city either.
GEE, I HAVE NO IDEA WHO I WOULD CHOOSE. THIS IS THE MOST DIFFICULT DECISION EVER
My name is Michael Litoris, Im from Antarctica and I study your mother routinely
Make your own cheese, perfect forest mon.
Insomnia to keep the dream alive
Hows anyone going to get a porygon? Is it illegally downloaded? do you make it in a shed? does it come to you or is it crazy expensive?
>Grew up in southern Ontario
>very active childhood, sports, going to the park all day, etc
>also played a lot of vidya
>the "beast" of my circle of friends, but also very kind
rugby is the best sport
I'm gunna be using this to replace my bromon on my party cause he just became redundant.
>21 y/o m
>2 years into college, still struggling giving a shit
>have been told all my life
>"brilliant but lazy"
>pretty enough face
>but still overweight
>tubby at best
>7 months ago decided on becoming animator
>ultimately want to work in design for vidya
>California born and raised
>White washed Hispanic (still speak/write fluently)
>mild depression (who doesn't though?)
>recent graduate lit major
>just been published for first time outside of a school
>part-time editor of medical articles and also research assistant for a rich important politician
plz give me a ghost pokemon vp they are my favorite
Lilipup for absolute sure
I can see you wide eyed and almost panting with childlike wonder at the great you're sure you'll achieve.
However much like a lilipup, you are not destined for greatness or influence or power. So you're gunna hafta struggle to. Don't lose sight of your purpose on your way there.
>several years past life expectancy
>been in several bad wrecks
>been grievously injured on multiple occasions
>been declared dead multiple times
>consistently perform top of my company / group of fellow contractors for charitable works
I live in a small, swampy town, plenty of plants and mosses growing over old structures. Churches and graveyards outnumber actual businesses.
pls no dark
I'm feeling Oddish for you
Grimer if you work mornings, trubbish if you work nights.
>however is an introvert
>loves to laugh
>loves to see others laugh
>finds it difficult to relate to most anybody
>doesn't take self to seriously
>doesn't take others too seriously
>dated since very young
>dated very often
>love nature and the earthy colors
>20 year old from Texas
>lived in the same place my entire life
>used to be a small town when I was young, but it has grown quite large
>was shy and fairly introverted throughout school, but have opened up a lot since I started working
>had the same best friend since kindergarten
>unfortunate manlet, about 5'6"
>trying to get in better shape
>starting college in the fall to be a ???
I live by the waterfront of a major city.
I used to be intelligent until a car accident rattled my brain.
Now I'm a hopeless NEET who browses /vp.
Slowpoke seems too obvious, could I get something else please?
You're next to an almost certainly polluted waterfront, and Scientist NPCs often use the Grimer line. Your intelligent younger self probably would have gotten one due to ease of access and research potential.
Now that your brain has been rattled, your potential trainer class has shifted to the next heavy users of Grimer that I can remember: Biker or Rocket Grunt.
>Born in San Diego raised in New Mexico
>Moved back to San Diego
>Currently procrastinating about finding a new job and going to culinary school when a year has finally passed
Sandshew a shit. There are no armadillos in New Mexico
I was thinking meowth or machoke would be cool since meowth is that good luck cat with money and machoke loves to help people by moving heavy boxes and stuff.
Darumaka, sandile, and solosis are fine too.
I'm thinking either Pumpkaboo or Misdreavus. Ghosts don't weigh very much, and Shauntal from the Unova E4 made me start picturing Ghost-types as studious Pokémon who are always bored and constantly reading in libraries and stuff.
Born and still living in ex-industrial region with dying mines. 21 y.o. Administration and national security student at university. Survival freak. Choose for me /vp/
I would choose Gastly
Through dumb luck, a Jaw Fossil from the mines somehow ended up in your hands. Gastly became an afterthought as you revived and got a fucking dinosaur as your starter, though once the novelty wore off you remembered it and it became your first catch.
