This Narutoad shit. It's Ash-fusion form looks repulsive and it's quickly becoming TPC's Lightning.
This is the only pokemon I genuinely hate because they specifically designed it to pander to waifufags.
It doesn't even look a pokemon. Its more suited to be a mascot for a karaoke game or something.
This doesn't look like a Pokémon either. What's your point?
>Competitive battling is saturated with it
>Design and concept draws 12 year old Narutards
>Gamefreak shilling it almost a third as badly as they do with their Mary Sue furry pandering poorly executed Anubis homage
I like Greninja because it's a cool design (although I kinda miss the prevos bubble-scarf), but if you look into anything Pokemon related beyone the main game, it gets shoved in your face like crazy.
>Competitive battling is saturated with it
You are see competitive battling be saturated with Pokemon like the genies or smogonbird. That doesn't mean they're popular or being pushed by GameFreak. It just means that they can't balance for shit. Most players don't even play competitively.
I'm not a huge fan of Meloetta, but I still like it. It's cute, it's unique, it draws inspiration from pop culture, and GF doesn't shoehorn it into enough things for it to be obnoxious.
It's more than just that though. A picture can symbolize many things, including history, neglect, favoritism, etc. The Pokémon itself isn't offensive, it's what is associated with it.
Greninja is an objectively cool design that doesn't look like a Deviantart fursona, nor does it get half as much mary sue treatment. As you said, Lucario has been around for 10 years, yet it remains continually shoved down our thoats.
Cool mon, but its fans need to swallow a bullet
>People did not like Zoroark
1) Except they did. Problem was that GF are retards and made Zorua event exclusive, and didn't give either form nearly as much in-game exposure.
2) Clearly you're new to the internet, or you'd have seen some sort of disgusting, lewd, furshit of Zoroark at some point. People liked it alright. A lot.
It's a frog. Frogs have long tongues. There's nothing wrong with having it be a prominent aspect of it. Actually, the fact that they could conjure up the usage of tongue as a means of expanding the ninja motif in itself is one of the most clever and risky design decisions i've seen in the past years. It also presents the added bonus of offering the design a much more interesting eye appeal via color contrasts that make sense yet use uncommon tints of it.
>is just a clusterfuck of polygonal shapes
Literally anything could be simplified to polygonal shapes. If you want to criticize its shape, just use the words "angular" and "jagged" instead of copypasting retarded arguments just because you think they favor you.
The only thing that actually feels tacked on in Greninja is the tail-like thing it has. Sure, you can argue >MUH AERODYNAMICS as much as you want, but it feels slightly uncanny on a frog pokemon, and i'm pretty sure the spearheaded shape Greninja's head has, along with the spoiler horns makes it aerodynamic in itself.
Every other part of its design is near-perfectly executed.
This thread pretty much explains what went wrong with the whole Zoroark fiasco. It goes pretty into detail, but a couple posts show in a simple manner the core problems, like:
Virtually unobtainable in-game; Ability demolished from its inception by Team Preview; Piss-poor movepool; Uncool Mother-like depiction in the anime (Even Zorua got more screentime ffs); all this among other disasters show that
a) Either GF had no idea what they were doing (which happens often) in terms of promotion.
b) Sugimori was intentionally sabotaging this thing so as to not steal the spotlight from his husbando.
It's handling was a recipe for disaster.
It could've been popular, GF just shit the bed handling it.
But thats bullshit. GameFreak themselves admitted Zoroark failed because Japanese kids didn't like the idea of bonding with an "evil" Pokemon (Dark type in Japan - Evil type), which suggests he was an antihero character. Also Japanese don't share the Americans love of edgy/dark/manly stuff so this whole point about movie Zoroark being uncool due to being a motherly figure or whatever is also false.
>Cool mon, but its fans need to swallow a bullet
Pretty much sums it up. Gardevoir's design is amazing, but we don't need fucking daily or weekly threads about it
>didn't like the idea of bonding with an "evil" Pokemon
Yeah, there's also that. Zoroark, design-wise, i feel performs way better than Lucario, but regardless of how much you push it it won't stick as much.
People find it easier to relate to characters that can be looked up to. With convictions, heroic capabilities and whatnot. Zoroark was the opposite of that. A deceiving, untrustworthy little bastard. Things like that do get nice fanbases, like Gengar. But the overall fanbase it can appeal to is much smaller than the heroic type.
Actually, which mon's are evil? I mean some of the them like mightyena or tyranitar can be pretty fucking ruthless, but at the same time, is predatory instinct evil? And with that being said, the 'evil' type (which is kinda to dumb to me, but pot and kettle probably applies here) has some... Mon's lacking in evil. Umbreon, Absol... I'm certain I could think of some more if I wasn't half asleep.
Just food for thought.
>To steal the life of its target, it slips into the prey's shadow and silently waits for an opportunity
>It is said to emerge from darkness to steal the lives of those who become lost in mountains.
>The leer that floats in darkness belongs to a GENGAR delighting in casting curses on people.
Nah, it's this garbage. Much as I don't really care about Lucario, it being pushed isn't really a valid reason to hate it, it's just reactionary contrarianism.
This thing on the other hand has no value and has objectively the worst design in the entire franchise. Simply unacceptable.
And that its swords don't fit in its sheathes, and that it abandons the shell blade theme, and that it's too topheavy to stand upright, and that its flippers aren't good for swimming OR holding things, and-
Well basically it's all been said before but the design is objectively a disaster.
Also Greninja has a bigger furry fanbase than the actual furbait starter in the generation
>Charizard isn´t affected by stealth rock
>How can you think that Charizard is overrated? His mint condition card is worth 3000$! Tell me when you are worth 3000$!
>Ev-Training on defense. Next turn One hit KO with Metal Claw.
>What you said about Charizard upsets me!
