Why did everyone buy FireRed instead of LeafGreen?
I had Leaf Green first. Then my brother's Fire Red.
Then some kid gave me his Chinese or Japanese Fire Red, couldn't tell you the difference. The cartridge was grey, though.
My guess is, like me, they went with the color they liked more. I really like both colors and I already had red before.
Because it had to compete with the version that had a big scary fire dragon on the cover.
Also, nobody in the west played Green so they gravitated toward the only version they were familiar with
>fat toads are for mature adults such as myself
I buy the second version of every game when I do. FRLG was the only one I skipped when it came out, though, Kanto remakes didn't appeal to me as a kid, I thought since I had the original it'd be a waste of money.

FireRed barely wins.
It's pretty easy to tell which of the games is going to sell more when they are announced, the one that seems cooler to young boys will sell.
>Red is a cooler colour than Blue
>Gold is better than Silver
>Rubys are better than Sapphires
>Pearls are dumb
>Black is edgier than White
>X is a cool letter
>never bought a pokemon game
>she gives me lg, emerald, ss & white
i didn't buy shit, OP
Actually I wished for LeafGreen that christmas and got it as well. Then when I opened the package there was a Firered cartridge there instead. Had a good laugh at that considering it doesn't really matter.
I bought LeafGreen. I prefer leaves to fire, prefer the LG version exclusives to FR exclusives.
And I pick Squirtle. But Bulba is fine. Can't stand the orange fire/flying dragon.
>Can't stand the orange fire/flying dragon.
Why do people do this?
>"Orange fire/flying dragon"
>"Fat lizard with wings"
Literally takes more effort for your sarcastic description than to just type "Charizard".
