>Champion is the only NPC in Gen 6 with 6 pokemon
why did this game become ultra casual?
NPC almost never use 6 pokemon in old games either unless they're super weak or low leveled like the Pokemon collector in Platinum. He used 6 different pokemon but all of them were very low leveled
They sacrificed gameplay for the sake of fanservice.
You do realize this was also the case in gen 5, right? Gen 5 did the same "ultra casualized" shit with gym leaders having no more than three Pokemon and the E4 only having 4. The only thing that changed is them adding the exp share. which is easy to turn off.
There's like, two non-casual individual battles in the entire franchise.
>Champion Rival in R/G/B/Y due to the concept of a Champion being completely fresh and a curve ball after the Elite "4"
>Red in G/S due to the insane level spike alongside it not being expected the first time you play
Stuff like Barry and Wally with their final battles lose a lot of their challenge when they can only be battled once the player has already done some challenge that will have their team be at a high enough level to deal with them.
