Gentlemen, /tv/ has the movies to debate. Now let's have our rightful debate. Which of the Super Star Wars trilogy is the best?
My vote goes to Jedi. By then the devs had making these games down to a fine science. The levels - both the regular and Mode 7 ones - had the most polish. There was the return of character select which had been stripped from Empire. And best of all was the character select mode which let you play hilarious scenarios such as Wickett (who had the strongest attack power of any of them) against the Emperor.
>>2936780 8 Eyes plays quite different to Castlevania though.
On topic, i just 1cc'd Kozure Okami from Nichibutsu, it's an early beat 'em up with pretty simple mechanics based on the "Lone Wolf and Cub" Manga. Can gets quite difficult at times, but it's worth trying out since it's easy to pick up and understand the mechanics. Oh also, the PCB is rare as hell.
Hot DAMN! I keep getting surprised with this game. I went in expecting a generic run n gun like many of the other Terminator games. Fuck no, this game actually expects you to fight smart. Make good use of your grenades, and don't use them on t-800's. The T-101's can insta-kill you by running you over. Duck often.
THE SOUND! I swear to god some of the level BGM sounds like some Joe Satriani style rock. This might be my new favorite OST to a video game, holy shit.
The game actually seems to follow the plot of the first... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
So, it is possible to overclock your megadrive cpu through means of a popular domestic mod. Why weren't they shipped already overclocked by default or at least given the option for a developer to do it through a special chip or whatever?
I know this is supposed to be ironic shitposting or something, but this is the 20th "recommend me games/which is the best x game/show me hidden gems" thread on the board. Game rec threads are now 1/5th of the board.
I think they can be good as long as there is enough variations in the levels to stay interesting. Like if you go between snowy overworld, ice cave, blizzard, etc. then you've got a pretty cool ice world. SMB3 may not exactly do that, but it's still broken up by underground levels and they're able to do some neat stuff with the ice block that's introduced in that world. The level design also changes pretty significantly in each level so I'd say even if it doesn't spin a ton of variations on the theme, it's still an example of how a themed world... Comment too long. Currently working on the Megami Tensei remake in Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei. Excited to start Pokemon Red on my New 3DS Pokemon Edition I have pre-ordered because I'm a fag (not sorry, will probably replay Soul Hackers on it too). I never have an urge to 100% games, I'm usually a credits and move on kind of guy unless I want to replay something.
>>2935954 It's not retro, but I'm working through Drakengard[/ and the rest of the series, but then I'm moving onto Metroid, which I now realize only has 2 games which are considered Retro by the boards rules.
Then I might go for something like Onimusha, Faxanadu, or Clock Tower and Silent Hill.
>HURR you are LITERALLY not allowed to play the CPU or else you'll pick up on irreversible bad habits I fucking hate this meme so much. I thought the reason why people picked training mode while waiting for online matches was so they could practice without having to have to sit through loading screens.
>>2935919 Meh, "serious" fighting game players in general are autistic fucks. So yeah, THEY pick up habbits and can't stop themselves later on. A normal person CAN in fact play the CPU and learn shit. Enough to play against other low to mid level players and have fun.
Serious players seem to think that if you're not ranked top ten in the world, or playing professionally at tourneys, that it's pointless to play fighting games. And that's just retarded.
Personally, I'm like lower... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2935926 >A normal person CAN in fact play the CPU and learn shit.
This is pretty untrue. Again, if you people want to play the CPU, go ahead and do so. If you want to do that and play your friends, go ahead and do so. But if you have any desire to get good, you aren't going to learn shit by playing the CPU.
You people have this weird persecution complex. The things you people are arguing against are only said to people who seek competition out of their fighting games. If your... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
What are some games that benefit more from being played on a real hardware and CRT tv than emulated? I played most of the ps1 classics but still feel free to suggest all kinds of stuff. I have next few days off and could really go for some ps1 vidya.
>>2935883 Depends on the hardware you're using if you're going all out with a high quality CRT, stereo receiver with some nice headphones/speakers or just standard stuff honest most 2d stuff looks pretty amazing either way
>>2935964 He's part of the newer generation, have some patience with him. Never showed a youngster some music to be asked about when does the song begin? (just cuz the first 30 seconds didn't have any vocals)
