I'm just glad they didn't kill themselves by trying to hack English text into Puyo Puyo 2 on a professional schedule. And I'd prefer a single downloadable version of Power Drift, but getting this physically is good compensation.
So I spent the last hour or so trying to find anything on the internet to sate my curiosity over this, but with no luck. So this level, at the beginning of World 1-2, in Super Mario Bros. 2 has a jar you drop into which apparently only has a 1-up Mushroom, and serves no other function. As you can see though, the floor can be bombed leading to...somewhere. Everything I've checked makes no reference to this, and I have no idea if it's possible to pull a bomb and see what's down there. So I ask, /vr/: What the hell is under that floor? Also, general unanswered secrets thread.
in DKC1... in the first level... beginning of the game... you can see a 1UP balloon at the way top of the screen on a tree top, but if you jump or manage to get up there it always disappears... like some weird 1up glitch or something...
The first Wizards and Warriors for the NES, level 2, there's an area of the map that, I swear to God, is impossible to reach. I spent hours trying to get up there, but with no luck. Is it at all possible to actually get up here?
>>2933279 Also, while on the subject, what the fuck does the Cloak of Darkness (that's the name of the power-up, right?) even do? It just turns you "invisible" and plays the potion music, but enemies still attack you, and you take the normal amount of damage (as far as I know). I've never been able to figure out what its actual function was for.
Other thread about carrying the actual device made me wonder-- did it have any good games for me to emulate? I use linux, but I also have wine, so if there's a "best" w/r/t emulation, let me know. Best games? You helped me learn Game Gear is good, let's hope for a repeat.
>>2933201 I'm curious too. I've looked lightly Ito the Lynx library on several occasions, and nothing ever really appeals to me. It was much easier for me to get into the Game Gear, which has a lot of good games.
>>2933201 My personal favorites, and probably what's stuffed into my Lynx carry pouch right now APB California Games Crystal Mines II Joust Klax (short of the arcade, the only way to truly play it, quite frankly) Ninja Gaiden Paperboy Rampage Rampart Road Blasters Robotron Steel Talons STUN Runner Slime World Xenophobe Xybots Zarlor Mercenary
The SNES' sound chip is so great, at times I even think it sounds better than the N64. Is this just a question of sound design or was the SNES' sound chip superior in some ways? SNES sound/music thread? I'll start with one of my faves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXN2KM-qMKo
>>2933067 If you actually enjoy this game, there are also Die Maus and Tweety & Silvester by the same developer on the GB in a very similar style. And ofcourse there are Monster Max and Altered Space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt12HoMqbHc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ6QyG1LyfE
What's so great about banjo kazooie. I usually love rare games, but I don't get what's so great about it? Every world has the same objectives and overall is a Super Mario 64 ripoff. Also the camera is ass. People keep saying it's both a classic rare game and an awesome game overall, but this just an overrated game fueled entirely by nostalgia. Help me out, I'm sick of all the praise it gets.
this week this game has got nothing but shit on. what praise? this is like the 4th thread in the last 5 days talking about how much this game sucks... probably all started by you as well. calm the fuck down.
well yeah you can die pretty easy when you first get to the inverse castle, since the damage enemies do likely outpaces your defense, you'll die in one or two hits depending on the foe.
anyway, the quote I suppose is psycho richter/dracula suggesting to his vampire concubines that they go out and burn a village or something so they can eat some children and have some fun with a big black magic satan worshiping blood party
>Shmups Thunder Force series (MD) Gley Lancer (MD) Super Fantasy Zone (MD) MUSHA (MD) Gradius III (SNES)

I know it's technically not a retro game, but I've tried to find a place that I could legitimately download this game, and haven't found it. Am I forced to go through eBay and Amazon for used copies, or is there super secret Retro download place where this game might be available?
tl;dr Is there a place where you can legit buy and download retro games?
