Burai's gonna happen so long as the fan translation scene doesn't implode, leaving us without hackers/translators willing to patch J-PC games. PC-88 version would be ideal, but there's console ports worth looking into assuming the PC versions are way too much of a pain.
>>2923213 Sure! 1-2 players go thru different buildings(banks, factories, etc) stealing treasures while trying to avoid security guards, dogs, and rakes! Collect all treasures and reach the roof within the time limit to win the stage.
So my mind is muddy, let's see, I'm sure I played it on the dreamcast, it was a 3D beat em up I think, and the action took place on a train. I remember winter scenery too. Played it in 2 players mode with my friend. It had an unmistakable Sega arcade feel, but couldn't find it looking for sega titles of that era, so perhaps my mind is tricking me?
I searched for beat em ups on the Dreamcast but no luck. Pretty sure it wasn't Dynamite Cop. Any clues?
What are some good games where you fly forward and you shoot enemies in front of you? Especially those ones, which where made for the 2D hardware. >inb4 Space Harrier ...and where you're not a running man.
This information sort of exists for on wikis dedicated to speedrunning and TASes. I remember reading a lot about Mario World running and jumping physics in particular, but even as exhaustive as it was it may not have everything you need to 100% duplicate it.
Mario World is going to be a special exception though, because it is very popular in those communities and with romhacking in general. You should be able to find similar amounts of research for Super Metroid and maybe a few others.
This one http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/232/ iirc the only bad thing they censored was a certain character suicide changed into a "leap of faith to get a little happy". Everything else was a non issue.
No really, what exactly went wrong in the localization of this game? The JP and PAL versions of Lufia 2 are relatively stable and work as intended, while the NA release has several glaring bugs, including: >capsule monster feeding not working correctly(e.g. rank 1 foomy requesting an old sword) >submarine cave completely scrambled, pic related >capsule monster cave and gratze kingdom names being scrambled Among the worst of them is the sound settings glitch, which is incredibly easy to do and can potentially ruin your entire game.
Was it just rushed really heavily? I find it hard to believe that they found changing sailors' hair color and the casino girls' outfits more important than testing the submarine cave to make sure it actually looked the way it's supposed to.
And Lufia 2 thread I guess, since there isn't one.
They probably first translated the game, checked if everything worked properly and then rearranged the sprites, tilesets and fonts afterwards without actually checking whether that fucked up anything or not, resulting in the complete mess we got.
Can anyone tell me a fair price for a Sega CD? I have been hunting for a little over a week, and all the ebay listings I try to bid on become so over priced. I have also hunted around my city, but haven't found one place that has a working unit. It's starting to become very frustrating.
My best friends came together and bought me Snatcher for my 30th birthday. I'm dying to play it on the original hardware.
Ebay seems resolute about 100 bucks. I got really lucky a few weeks ago and got the whole shebang (Gen/CD/32X) for 105. If you know any stores around you with competitive pricing then get in touch with them, maybe they can hook you up.
Also I might recommend getting some CD-Rs, they're a real help with SCD.
You can just avoid the fight by stealing the key from the guy. Talking your way out can also work if you're character is build that way. Fighting only really works when you've specialized in unarmed or melee and even then you shouldn't do aimed attacks. The temple of trials isn't great design but you won't have trouble if you don't play like a retard.
>>2922986 There are at least 4 ways I can think of right now to get past that part. He's a boneheaded moron who went full DSP trying to do the same thing over and over again and not learning anything from his mistakes.
Pannenkoek2012 (mentioned here: >>2914875 ) does no A-button and 255 coin runs of Super Mario 64. This is much more complicated than it sounds. For example, in one video he has to run backwards for 25 hours to lower his speed enough to warp out of bounds to a parallel universe. If you like seeing people push the boundaries of video games, this channel is great.
Game Theory hasn't put out a good video in a while, but his older stuff (pre-FNAF shit) is pretty good. The more math-intensive stuff... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
