I think Final Fantasy spoiled me for all other retro RPGs.
>play a game someone recommended
>some kid running around in a village hitting shit with a sword for like 5 hours
Boring as it gets. Show me a game that grabs your attention with an opening like pretty much any in the Final Fantasy series.

Terrorism was a thing before 9/11 you know.

Oh, I know, but
1) I wanted to talk about this game, because it was easily broken but kinda fun and had nice visuals
2) This would be a pretty risky thing to include in your game in 2016, let alone in a German game
3) None of the expansion packs, including those post-9/11, have edited this character's purpose
>>
>>3675950
His "salam aleykum" has been forever burned into my brain.

First time I played it I didn't know anything so kept taking last minutes instead of renting a route and soon enough it became management hell.

Nice humor on the characters: That petrol air (does he have a name? can't remember), Selig-Hagedorn duo, even the playable managers each has their own personalities from their body language and office.

snes had platformers, and RPGS o plenty, which I love. Some of the best vidya music ever created was on the snes as well. Also still arguably the best dpad on any controller ever made.

n64 had a few great games and amazing nostalgia factor if you grew up with it but most game run like crap and can't hold my attention for too long these days.

I don't know what to feel right now.

Since the time I was four years old, I've been playing Megaman. The legendary blue bomber has been a welcome face in my house and home, as well as having a special place deep within my heart. The first Megaman game I ever played was actually Megaman X, and let me tell you: at four years old, there was no way in hell I could have been expected to have the reflexes and skills to finish that work of art. It wasn't until I was seven that I actually beat it, getting all the power-ups and whatnot and finally taking the fight...

...But something about the X series always bothered me. I knew that there was a story told all across the games, but according the X series alone, it didn't really have a satisfying ending. At first glance, the typical gamer sees these games and assumes they're just one-off's in terms of plots and story structure. Well, it turns out there's an entire timeline that takes place from the classic Megaman games and DIRECTLY leads into the X series.

And then, there was Zero.

I...

Third game, you tackle a massive war machine that was developed for the sole purpose of exterminating humanity. In the fourth and final game, you finally put an end to the evil...

FF has an addiction to inserting "aliens" into their stories. Don't have anything going on after disk 1? How bout some aliens. Don't have anything going on after the first continent? Better sprinkle in some aliens. No other city is as interesting as the first? Better drop in aliens for good measure.

You should be able to download one onto a flash drive. Doubt your save from your emulator would be compatible but you can probably download a 100% file from gamefaqs or something.

I still personally prefer the original since I find the level design a lot tighter in that one. The early levels are utterly fantastic but I think there's a drop of quality in the final few stages which kind of brings it down for me.

It IS gorgeous though and having multiple characters on hand is a fantastic idea that I wish was brought back for later games.

The NES version is a different game due to the fact the difficulty is greatly increased. Enemy damage is increased where even the smallest enemies...

any tips on how to mount this tv? I kinda just wanna dremel out the bottom half of the tv's case so I can keep all the logic boards mounted as they are. It would require two people to lift the monitor and one person to carry the "tail" of logic boards onto the new bracket. This is actually a damn near perfect match for this cab (size-wize). I know a real arcade monitor would be A+, but what I think I got here should be the next best thing.
>>
>>3674791
Once you unscrew the tube the front of the case will be easy to saw across the weak parts you could pretty much just snap it. Then you could just tip the bottom at a slight angle to make it fit. You don't want to go moving it around too much as the wires in commercial sets weren't made for that.

Nothing wrong with palette swaps on the NES. Even with high cost mappers you're pretty limited on ROM. When you have animated sprites made up of multiple tiles, the bytes add up fast. Even compression only does so much, and you can't even use space efficient modern compression algorithms on a lot of these early systems because of memory and CPU speed limitations.
