Why does castlevania has anime style in certain games? Frankly it looks retarded , the best look is the sc4 or cb , hell, even ooe for ds, the games are decent but the style feels forced and it panders to the weebs it's as if the last of us announced a sequel and all the characters were anime

Can someone explain to me the appeal of this series? Tried games 1 and 4 recently and just couldn't get into them.

I always hear people talk about the stories in these games, but for people here who are fans, what do you like about them as games?

It's the defining RPG series.
The story itself isn't that great aside from maybe 5 and 7 but it was thriving for innovation and building a world.
1-3 were still very basic attempts to recreate D&D.
4 was the milestone that added interactivity beyond fighting, offered a world somewhat distinct from fantasy cliche and focused on improving yourself instead of fighting another evil wizard.
5 onward then expanded the setting and played different scenarios related to the virtues.
Underworld deserves special mention because it was groundbreaking in all...

Basically it starts as classic galaga but for every 4 FUCKING QUARTERS you get an additional ship to shoot along side of you. However, usually at some point every 2 levels it seems like the enemies rush you, spinning and shooting and exploding with a pattern you cannot maneuver away from.

Nigger shit, and complete bastardization of love of my favorite arcade games.

Quick question regarding those infamous Majesco re-releases.

I got a bunch of Snes games for cheap, pic related are the boards and from what ive read on th3 int3rn3tz, Majesco re-releases which were produced in Mexico, do not use "official" Nintendo PCB's, and these six all have the Nintendo logo and the year printed which actually matches the year in which those games were released.

can anyone confirm? games are buster boost loose, chavez, lock on, wrestlemania, super scope 6 and nba live 95.

Sorry for potato quality - I tried to take a picture of the back but only the serial was clear, the rest was withered and I couldn't get the model number. I have had this TV in the living room for about a year.

Its a Sanyo and it says "flatscreen" to the right lowerhand corner. In the OSD I can switch between 4:3 or 16:9. Kodi however always runs in a letterbox no matter what.

I am trying to figure out the native resolution for 4:3 so I can edit accordingly, but am having trouble identifying this specific TV. As of right now it's pretty impossible...

Looks like a DS series which is a sd set.

Your post makes little sense. Are you using an emulator and having resolution scaling issues? If that is a pic from hardware you have crazy underscan.and need to adjust hsiz, vsiz, hpos and v pos in the service menu to fill the bezel. On old sanyos you turn the tv on, hold the menu button on the set. and un plug it then plug it back in. Write down the original value for anything you adjust so you have a baseline to go back to just in casies.

Hey /vr/,

is there a good way to keep emulator saves synced between my PC and my Android phone so I can play a game on the PC at home but on the phone when I'm not home? Are there any good emulators that work on both PC and phone so the saves will work on both? Thinking specifically of SNES to play some FF VI, but might wanna play games from other old consoles, too.

Why did you tape the harddrive to the bottom? Now you can't lay it flat.

You could have used some velcro strips to keep them together instead of mummifying the poor thing.
>>
>>3624351
One, nothing's on the bottom, I don't get what you mean. Also it's not taped on, but it's in a pocket fashioned out of duct tape. Originally it WAS velcro'd on, but the thing is the weight of the drive combined with the heat from the wii would cause the glue to fail, and the velcro was ruined within two months or so.

Does /vr/ think that the 5th generation of consoles are underrated these days or perhaps get too much unnecessary dislike?

Consider how many people these days bash games from this generation. Many people actually believe that games from these consoles haven't aged well both in look and gameplay. Even if they aren't trying to be hateful many people might still honestly think that the games have not aged well.

From what I have noticed previous consoles such as SNES, NES and Genesis you won't see or hear as much people say that the classics from these...

The Genesis was better at fast action games but the SNES library aged better overall. Call me a filthy casual but Genesis games remind me more of arcade games, while SNES games remind me more of games released for later systems.

I've been using an OG Xbox for emulation purposes.

I'm looking into how to get the best video quality out of the machine, and I see it had component cables. The problem is, my receiver doesn't accept component for 480p/720p/1080i or whatever the Xbox could do.

Any recommendations on how to convert the OG Xbox into HDMI?
33 replies and 3 images submitted. Click here to view.

Did you make sure to enable 480p/720p/1080i in the xbox video setting? Also, a Wii makes for a much better emulation machine.
>>
>>3623356
Yeah, I don't have any of the component cables or anything yet.

I just recently updated my Xbox's mod and I have so many games on there and everything's set up.

I'd have the same problem with the Wii, I think, since it's component only and I'd need to convert it to HDMI. But I guess the Wii2Hdmi works easily.
>>
>>3623359
You're only bet is to get the Monster Component cables for the Xbox and buy a Component to HDMI converter.

you could exploit FF1 ios
if you were about to lose a battle or just want to skip a random encounter all you had to do was close the app mid battle and you would be back in the spot before the encounter and move freely until next battle

Want to try out the Ys games, but there's so many releases for the first 3.
Can anyone recommend which versions I should play?

Virtua Fighter 2, Dead or Alive, Last Bronx and Goiken Muyou all run at 704x480i (the highest resolution of that time) with multi-layered pseudo-3D backdrops. PSX's Dead or Alive runs at 512x480i with simplistic backgrounds and simplified HUD and explosions, its only technical advantage is the improved lighting.
