Found this recently on sale at Toys R Us for $25 bucks. For the price it's actually pretty decent. Battery last for about 6 hours, offers game saving on Phantasy star 2 and 3, buttons are spaced far enough apart, screen big enough, let's you but ROMs on SD card. Down side is it sounds like it is filtered through Satan's asshole, and games on SD card will not save. Considering I never play games with portable consoles it's over all very good. Has anyone tried there new Atari handheld I would pick one up if I could find it on sale.

Of all of the great RPGs available on the SNES...

Which is your favourite, and why? Maybe also share which ones you've actually played.

I think mine is Final Fantasy III (VI).
It's tough to explain why.
I think the overall themes, story, and characters just... hit a sweet spot in me.
The music isn't even that great in my opinion (although it IS great), but the game just really touches me.

EarthBound.

I don't care if this game is too "trendy" right now with "hipsters" and "millennials", I still love it just the same as I always have.

>Favorite Action RPG
Brandish 2.

It's a bit like those grid-based dungeon crawlers like Dungeon Master, SMT, Wizardry, etc., but in an overhead view like Zelda.

Only way to play it is through a fan translation though....

Hey, there's a friend of mine who's been looking for an old point and click videogame for a very long time. She played it in her childhood, 90's. I tried helping her finding the title, but can't manage to do it either.
Here several clues: - The main character's fiancèe / wife gets kidnapped. She probably is pregnant, because their house has a newborn room. - The characters in the game are human, but visually "quite funny". - It's half live action, half videogame. - There are several islands. The one where the main character lives is...

You ever notice how many Japanese games are about practicing a level over and over, getting a little better each time, until you finally are good enough to beat the level? Sounds like kaizen, doesn't it? Are Japanese games secretly teaching you how to be an effective worker?

This is the thought I asked myself when reflecting yesterday on finally finishing Dracula's Curse.

So why did Square consider uncompressed FMV so important to their game that they severed their ties with Nintendo over it? Couldn't they have just made better models and done the cutscenes in-engine, or even compressed the audio and FMV so it fit on a cartridge, like Resident Evil 2 did?

I know it's not exactly retro related but will any developer like Bioware or Telltale ever step up and give us one last adventure for the crew of the Enterprise-D before the cast starts dying off? Heck, they could even have it take place during the later seasons of TNG so they have an excuse to bring in DS9 & its cast too. but not the cast of Voyager, fuck that shitty show except maybe Robert Picardo - he's alright. If this Unreal recreation of the Enterprise-D was made into a real game I would literally cry with joy...

Star Trek 25th Anniversary. You have to know a bit about chemistry and math to beat it, which is perhaps a bit unfair, but it's a great game that emulates the first series pretty much perfectly.

Alien Isolation has a full hour of forced tutorials, cinematics and linear set pieces.

Modern games just do not let you play they have to do this whole "cinematic" nonsense. My god, just get to it.
>>
>>3577430
I don't.
I enjoy them about the same, but for different reasons.
>>
>>3577430
I only have little time to spare for video games.

While you can settle down to play your favourite retro game for just an hour , you need at least one hour to watch modern games' opening scenes.
