>>2881253 It's not bad, it's just bland. It's a bit too easy (hence Expert mode, too bad that isn't being translated as far as I know) and while alchemy is introduced as a huge gameplay element it's seldom useful and more hassle than it's worth. It's kinda obvious Falcom wasn't all that familiar with SFC programming because the game feels unpolished in that regard - a bit too sluggish, a bit too laggy in places where it really shouldn't feel like this at all.
The story is unremarkable... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2881253 I think I've mentioned this in about 10 different Ys threads at this point, but I'll say it again: It starts out shit, but it gets much better once you buy/find different swords. The starting sword just has an awkward swing. Also prepare to be disappointed by the magic system. The first spell you get from Massea is actually more useful than most of of the ones you can craft.

>>2881316 Time travel? The only time travel plot is the Stoker/Foresta side story, and it's completely disconnected from the main Kefin story to the extent that its resolution has to be tacked on right before the final boss. While you're destroying Kefin a mcguffin literally sends you into the past to resolve this side plot, then you come back and keep destroying Kefin. It has no relevance to anything else, if anything it just breaks the flow of the main story even more by making the final events seem less coherent.... Comment too long. >>2880936 The one with the big circle is a Fujitsu SRAM, and the other one is a mask rom (either manufactured by Nintendo or subcontracted out, it's normal for it to not have a manufacturer label). Date codes are 1990 but Mega Man was popular enough that it probably got multiple print runs, so it's probably legit.
Old Diablo thread is nearly at bump limit, so here's a new one.
Currently doing a warrior run in Diablo. Going to move onto Diablo II soon. I completed normal mode like 5 years ago and haven't played it since, and I'm planning to do a full playthrough up to the end of hell mode on battle.net. Anybody care to join me?

The direct download is fairly slow. Haven't tried the torrent. If you're running something newer than XP then you will want to look at this compatibility guide: http://www.lurkerlounge.com/forums/thread-13200.html

Male nipples were not offensive at all during the 80s. Male nipples were commonly seen in Disney movies, even, and many other cartoons. It is not not considered offensive for a male to bare his chest now and it wasn't offensive at all in the 80s.
I loaned my dad's coworker's kids my controller so they could play this game back when it came out. I was getting into PC gaming and the 64 was collecting dust, so what? It was the controller in the picture. Sigh.
In high school (1999-2003) I was loaned Goldeneye 64 and a couple of junk titles and we lost touch. Last year I found the guy on Facebook who, coincidentally, lived in the same city as I did (we grew up in a small town), I asked if he wanted them back, he enthusiastically responded, and I got to go hang out with his wife and child and we played goldeneye 64 all those years later!
Is there any information on Sega of Japan's side of the story about what happened in the 90s?
This book makes Kalinske and his team out to be demi-gods, while the Japan team was a bunch of retards. And while going from a <5% market share to a >50% share is very impressive, I can't help but feel that a lot of information was swept under the rug to make him look better, or that his faults and mistakes were twisted to make it seem like SoJ was at fault.

The fact that neither side wants to take full responsibility for the 32X is a sign that SoA were responsible for as many fuckups as SoJ were.
