>>2945372 Fallout 2, the first one is great too but the time limit always bothered me, 2 nailed the humor way better too. I also love that you have to be selective of how you build your character, you cant be great at everything and often specialization completely changes the way you approach an area.
>>2945372 Arcanum it's like a mix of shit and diamonds. The combat sucks, and there's plenty of combat. The game is ugly as fuck. Even moving your character sucks. But everything else it's great. I don't even know what Troika were doing. At the same time they made ToEE wich is beautiful and have one of the best RPG combat ever.
Sonic 3/Michael Jackson rumors confirmed http://testkitchen.huffingtonpost.com/michaeljacksonsonic/
I'm sure there are less shitty clickbait versions of this article floating around, but I'll give you the high points: apparently huffpo believes that "hardcore sonic fans" call themselves "Blues" which I have never heard before and sounds absurd. Brad Buxer, Doug Grigsby III, and Cirocco Jones are 3 of the 6 men credited with writing sonic 3's music and confirm MJ's involvement. Buxer is a longtime collaborator with MJ... Comment too long. >Influenced computer graphics and engine design >Community driven games (just look at the DOOM community here...) >Releases old source code >Gives accurate talks on history of physics, graphics, and games This guy is one of my living heroes.
Good talk on graphics for the uninitiated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyUgHPs86XM
Good article on interesting shadow technique pioneered by said guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_volume
You ever get kinda sad thinking about whether some integral people listed in the credits ever went onto anything better? If they've been forgotten or if they lost interest in the field? If they're even alive anymore?
I had one of these, Mortal Kombat 3 for my brazilian Master System, back when i was around 7yo, but the game always seemed weird. Few playable characters, no history... Was it some kind of shitmade port for Master System, or my memory just sucks?
Alright /vr/ i need some help with this shit load of fuck game. I'm trying to unlock some of the secret cars but i have never been able to do it. For example to get the dodge viper you need to beat arcade pro series on expert. Yeah good fucking luck. On hard its retardedly unfair, the computers are too fast and the tracks might as well be ice because your sliding into everything because apparently on expert, they thought it was a good idea to make your cars handling utter shit. After months of trying and trying i have given up on this fucking game. I hate to cheat, and... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Would a game developed today with throwback visuals emulating the mid-90s 3D pre-rendered craze have something close to an actual audience?
Both this and "classic" straight pixel art-based graphics are borne of ingenuity and experimentation overcoming huge limitations. So what's the difference? Why does extremely minimal pixel art almost seem to validate a project creatively today by itself?
>>2944024 The stock responses are "pre-rendered looks like ass" / "pixel arts looks awesome". If you can spare the time, please do chime in with some actual argumentation on why do you think this is so
PS1 version for FF1 and 2. They fix a lot of glitches while maintaining some of its mechanics like the Vatican spell system in Final Fantasy I and the stat growth along with degradation in Final Fantasy II.
Hello People of Color, what is the best way to play Alone in the Dark 1? The 3D0 is superior with featuring audio dialogue and and enhanced orchestral soundtrack. Problem is 3d0 emulation is really shitty.
What does /vr/ think is the best way to play this game? DOS or 3D0? Is there a patch that enhances the DOS version like it is the case with for example Tomb Raider patched with PSX soundtrack=?
Like I'm literally autistic because I wanted to play the game so much a few hours ago but haven't yet because of above reasons of uncertainty.
>>2943905 Yea. It's still a solid running game and it's pretty fucking good. It didn't age horribly. Puts a lot of the modern Resident Evil type games to shame still. Scare the FUCK out of me as a kid. Evil Pirate George Washington man... you don't even know.
