>>2853527 Played it on Windows. I remember being able to see the missiles flying over from one window to another (on Win95 with larger resolution you can drag the windows anywhere and the missiles will still fly appropriately), you might even guess their missile base locations that way. And yeah, it gets pretty hectic.
Anyone ever play EVO Search for Eden on the SNES back in the day? This was one of my favorites growing up and actually pretty educational for a kid. You start as a fish than evolve through different levels of evolutionary history. Fish, amphibian, dinosaur, Bird/mammal, Human and you get to choose what parts to evolve along the way so your character is pretty customizable for a SNES game.
EVO gets posted a shitload around here for all kinds of reasons such as soundtrack, gameplay, genre etc. Good game, got it pre-internet from a thrift store with my dad having no idea how much it was worth.
How did they manage to get away with publishing this? Gore, close-ups of decaying bodies, sex references everywhere (dat scene where Gillian calls up a sex hotline or compares his wife's tits to a dancer's), this is by far the most "adult" game I've played which got an official Western release. Fucking how?
-The graphics are bad, I can't enjoy it. -The reboot is better, the old version is a bad game because audiences didn't know any better. -It was "Good for its time." -This game is too hard. I'm not bad at this, but I can't beat it in 5 hours. That means it has artificial difficulty which makes it bad. -This is a clunky UI, I can't get passed this
Are we the ones out of touch, or is it the children?
An observation: I feel snes games really benefit from shaders that emulate the effect of a crt. The pixels really melt together through the crt shader and create a higher res texture that gets sharp again through the scanlines. raw textures just look wrong
on the contrary i think nes games look ugly with crt shaders. the crt effect+scanlines dont add anything to the textures because they are so low res it's in vain. the scanlines make it look worse as opposed to on snes. i like the raw textures more, but a bit of blur and smudging through an ntsc filter seems... Is it not obvious that with Buy-It-Now you are paying for the immediacy of not having to deal with an auction? Time is money and buy-it-nows are usually priced taking that into consideration. Of course there are always ridiculous sellers who put prices they'll never get, but on the bright side they have to pay to keep those annoying listings up.
