Blog> My dad got this for me for birthday, and I assumed it was $5 shit shovelware because that was what he had got me the last three times. The only times we got good games was when he pirated stuff from work.
I ignored it for like 8 months. >It's actually a fucking gem >wot. Warning, possible huge nostalgia, don't think I ever beat it, and I haven't touched it in 10+ years when I tried to replay it once.
>>2836128 If I remember correctly "Double Dragon II" on GameBoy may be a reskinned Kunio (That Super Dodge Ball / River City Ransom guy) game that was released in America. I'm sure it is but I'm not going to google it :^)
Oh and Mario 2 might actually been Dong Dong Pong in Nippon.
I'm basing this thread on the '98 showcase of Duke Nukem Forever. Here's the footage in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR6qFFEkALg
The trailer makes the game look promising however it's not clear how much of it was actually a part of the produced gameplay or just a simulation of one. For example the 2001 trailer was all a bluf, nothing there was produced for the game. We are left to guess if the '98 one was a one too.
Anyways, the game looks cinematic beyond it's time. Closest PC rival is Half-Life at that's nowhere... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
What is it with certain localizations in some older games completely changing the plot of a game between versions? I'm not talking about obvious shit that had to be changed due to different censorship standards or culture things, like taking out the Swastikas in Bionic Commando or switching the names of the bosses in Street Fighter II, but I mean shit that really has no rhyme and reason for being changed at all.
Some examples off the top of my head: >The main character in Street Fighter 2010 is not the Ken from Street Fighter I and II, but... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
retro games! also I'm just saying it's fucking pathetic that you fanboy neckbeards still care about the reboot of a 20 year old game. You're not even the target demographic anymore. Can't you just move on?
Ok. Help me out. This has been bothering me for ages.
It was a game that came in an Spanish CD full of demos sometime in 1996-ish, but this was the only complete one. It was a game like Pang/Buster Bros. that gave you the option to play as a male anime character or a female one.
The thing is that, if you managed to finish the first level, this porn image of the female protagonist appeared until you pressed a button (nothing hardcore. I think it was her with her legs spread open, but smiling, as if she just came out of the shower and was drying herself). The second... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Ok, so, I've got a couple games from my childhood that I can't seem to identify. Both of which I suspect are garbage, but I'll die easier knowing what they were called.
The first game was for the SNES. The protagonists were a young boy and girl. I think they also had the ability to turn into a robot kid? Or maybe they just summoned him? You someone were able to go from playing as the kids to a robot kid. I think the perspective of the game was a top-down LoZ: A Link to the Past point of view.
The second game was an adventure game for the N64. I... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Sometimes I wonder if I just dreamt about this. I'll give the cliffnotes of what I remember.
-Played it around 2000-2001 -Possibly had "Shadow" in the title? -Very ugly graphics, even for the time -Multiplayer to some degree, I remember it having some form of chat room -Divided into levels, in the first level you explored a crypt and there was a big dragon at the end -Second level was a snowy forest with giants and unicorns, I don't think I ever beat it
