Cooking up a spooky cake edition.
Tibia is a top down 2D fantasy MMORPG going since 1997. We play on two game worlds which cover the two continents the game has servers in, choose the server you have the best connection to and post your name and world in here for an invite to either the guild Yotsubas (on the European world Secura) or Sengoku (on the North American world Fidera).

Previously on /tbg/:
I know there are a lot of dumb people in the world, but this guy in DJ is utterly incapable of learning his lesson about hunting oramond at his level.
Anywhere theres rots, mino, or ghouls. Also pick up potion bottles. I see high levels dropping hundreds sometimes and thats big cash for a new player. I bought 400 LMM on my new sorc because someone dropped like 250 in the depot.
I care not for his personality outside of the game or thread or what they enjoy in their home. I care about their contributions in thread or game. They have done nothing wrong to you, yet all you can do is resort to personal attacks.
Runes don't use any magic, so you get a lot more magic level by using strikes, and it generally costs less gold to use strikes & pots than runes hunting. You will almost always lose money hunting with runes before you get to significantly higher level.
That said, once you have a decent magic level, runes are the fastest way to level if you have the gold to burn.
Offline training doesn't do nearly as much for ML like it does for weapon skills. It's half the rate of manasitting on food; which is not much at all compared to how much you gain by hunting with strikes or making your own runes with pots.
My next magic level would take 27 day(s) 0 hour(s) 25 minute(s) 28 seconds of offline training.
I will probably get it in the next ~7 hours of playing, and that's using runes, not strikes
Energy wave has a better pattern (11333) than strong ice wave(133); have beams (druids don't); sorcs get a death strike (druids get a physical strike which is armor mitigated and almost never used); can make sudden death runes; can deal the most energy & fire damage
Druids mass heal; heal friend; can deal the maximum ice & earth damage (really just ice because earth a shit on tougher mobs)
Those are the major differences. It's mostly just grass is greener.
>the most fire damage
Yeah, no. Hell's Core is never used, and there is no strong Fire instant spell - That doesn't really matter though, because Fire is almost as shit as Earth. But at least Druids have Earth Wave which is almost as strong as E-Wave in formula
Also Druids are the only ones who can Paralyze (if PvP is your thing) and use Wild Growth runes
>there is no strong Fire instant spell
What is Strong Flame Strike?
Just by merit of that alone not even including the other fire spells and fire wands, they are objectively better at fire damage than druids.
You can't say fire is almost as shit as earth (which most tough mobs are outright immune or heavily resistant to), then act like terra wave is a plus for druids. Terra wave costs more mana and does less damage than e-wave, and it's earth damage so most shit is immune to it anyway. It's practically never used. It doesn't share formula with e-wave; that's strong ice wave; which has an inferior pattern that is both riskier to use and hits less area.
I don't use any earth damage at all; but I can still recognize that druids can dish out the most earth damage of any class. Sorcs do the same with fire.
>Talking about single strikes as source of damage
Nigga please, we're obviously comparing AOE Instant spells. Single-target spells are all outclassed by SD which can be used by both mage vocations.
>Act like terra wave is a plus
But it is. Because there is no "strong fire wave" for sorcerers, this means Druids get two strong waves
>It doesn't share formula with e-wave
Never said it did; I said it was ALMOST as strong. And the pattern of Terra Wave is exactly the same of E-Wave. OH, and it has a 4 sec cooldown, which is half that of E-Wave.
>Strong Flame Strike is equivalent to hitting multiple targets for much more than that with Terra Wave
Yeah, no, you're retarded. The best sustained dps AOE Fire spell is the Great Fireball Rune, which both vocs can use.
>we're obviously comparing AOE Instant spells
You never said anything of the sort nor did I make such an assumption in any of my replies.
Terra wave does 66% of the damage of e-wave per mana; and it's earth damage. They aren't on par with one another. Terra wave can not even be on your bar and you'd never notice.
>Strong Flame Strike is equivalent to hitting multiple targets for much more than that with Terra Wave
Never said anything of the sort.
You said there were no strong fire instant spells; there literally is a strong instant fire spell.
You're obviously very mad about being a sorcerer. Maybe you can join Fuuz in the 'my class is so underpowered' fanclub.
Your first post argued that sorcs deal "the most fire damage". I was countering that argument, and the existence of Strong Flame Strike does not support your view, simply because Great Fireball exists and if there are at least 2 mobs, it will deal more damage than Strong Flame Strike. And it doesn't have an 8-sec cooldown.
Now, Terra Wave is less mana efficient but that's beside the point. Setting mana and money issues aside, you can cast Terra Wave twice as many times as you can cast E-Wave. And I'm not arguing against Energy damage, I know E-Wave is much more useful, but please let go the bullshit about fire damage, because: 1) it sucks ass, 2) most worthwhile mobs that are vulnerable to fire are just as vulnerable to energy (grims, medusa/SS/hydras, souleaters, etc) and 3) sorcs don't have a fire spell that is superior to GFB, except for the useless UE nobody picks
And for the record, I have played both vocs and recognize their strengths and weaknesses. Fire damage is NOT a strength of sorcerers in their current state, but Earth, as near-useless as it is, is indeed a strength of Druids.
Are there any really good hunting spot guides or video series? The one on the wiki seems like random shit since anyone can change their level/exp/loot ratings. Tried Verry's channel but its a total mess.
sorcs suck dick, and have no redeeming qualities becuase cipsoft doesnt know the first thing about game design
maybe if they would have actually had the fucking sack to carry out any of their vocation definition changes they announced like 3 years ago and made druids summoner themed we would be having a different conversation
Thanks, ill look into them. For those on Fidera I'm trying to buy a nice house as a communal meeting spot (besides the GH) but I want it to have a private room for storage and an open room for people to use.
So in that case it doesn't necessarily have to be a shop with the shop bar (though its preferred), it just needs to have a good open main room with a locked smaller room(s) for storage.
Okay nerds. I need help making the call. Help me pick a city to create a central base of operations in for /tbg/ meetings and party recruitment. Decide if it should have convenient travel accommodations, or instead be in a remote location so we can discuss lewd matters and the like.
Upper Spike (25-49) is excellent to hunt solo as a mage with avalanches/GFBs. Remember to do the daily tasks if you do so.
Middle Spike (50-79) is hard and has crystalcrushers which are very fast and dangerous for this level range. Most stuff here is weak to Fire though, so that makes things easier. Still, I recommend you hunt here in a group. Expect decent to good exp and bad money.
I have only ventured into the Lower Spike once, in a group of three at level 80-something and it was absolute hell. The respawn is very fast and the variety of creatures is overwhelming. It's a bad place for exp, definitely. Not sure how it is for loot but don't expect much really.
All in all, except for the upper spike, don't go there unless you wanna have a fun and challenging hunt, or want to do the tasks to rack up points for the Cave Explorer outfit.
I don't know. Maybe you should ask yourself that before creating a different "base of operations".
AKA let's just use what we already fucking have. Edron is an excellent location, and Cormaya is secluded enough (nobody goes to the garden for example) but easily connected, as well.
That is because everyone is dead. I go there after every hunt in Zao to drop my loot in the GH depot, and I often sleep in there as well. I mainly idle in Edron though
I know some people that idled in the Cormaya Garden often before they stopped playing (such as Mayo and Sark)
Rich people in Tibia allow me to pay my lowbie bills. I collected like 2.5k in potion bottles in 5 minutes in the depot today. Where can I proceed in further cleaning operations? I do it FOR FREE.
I have no idea about the value of houses aside from the biddings I see on the forums based on their location unfortunately. I'm used to just buying out tiny shacks uncontested. Even if Fibula is in the middle of nowhere the amount of area is large enough for people to bid higher than usual. In other words I have no idea as of yet, but I am researching.
>walking around thais picking up empty pots
>go to cash them in
>30 empty large pots on the ground
>in the store
>tiles away from xodet
sometimes i fee like an urchin scrounging for bills that scrooge wipes his nose with and drops without caring
> because Fire is almost as shit as Earth
whats it like never fighting a grim reaper before
have you even used the move "fire wave" before?
have you ever hunted banuta
have you ever played a sorc, lets dial it back
Sorcerers have the highest damage output in the game m8, druids have more utility tho, but a sorc is used more in PvP especially, but a sorc is welcome to any hunt esp since they're the core damage in a Catacombs hunt
everyday has been a winter snow storm I havent been on, and the time I am on I've been getting nagged to do OTHER shit nonstop
nigga you what? the ones who moved to fidera were americans who had bad ping. Literally 4 or 5 people moved from yotsubas to fidera and some people who joined them through the thread.
>decide to explore edron hero cave to see what they've changed since 2003
>having fun running around old places on my druid
>go down staircase and wind around hallway
>suddenly grim reapers
We Demon Oak now. Nov 21-Mar 23. I'll post loot totals in a sec.
Lizard High Guard was compensated, death due to kick/lag
Old Widow was a big fuck-up of mine, cast UE by mistake, drained my mana and took a streak of high damage hits
Lost Thrower was a distance combo from 100% to 0 in an instant
Behemoth was my mom doing stupid things and causing a blackout in my house while I was running one
"9 million gold is not nothing"
I am LITERALLY saying 9 million gold is a LOT of gold
I am not rich by any means, I just have a lot of money in housing (my giant carlin home, my gh, my other carlin home) and some rares (lots of raid token rares, hard to obtain etc)
to my name, I have 1kk pure cash. at the end of the day I enjoy having those things vs. having a very very slight upgrade esp since I am not actively hunting every day. im also over level 250 so if need be ill just buy an umbral master book one day so at least I get resistances all over
monitor the prices of creatures products, at least worth over 2k, preferably 4k+, buy a stack of 100 if the market is going to dry up on them, relist at a higher price. clusters of solace are a safe buy because on some servers they're up to 20k a pop now and they tend to go down and up, but I wait till they're up. buying rares is a big part too. umbral items especially (bow, crossbow, 1h sword, spellbook)
This thread is a shill in disguise.
/vr/ should know better
If people likes a certain game, they would flock to it. No need to shove it in their throats. This thread sounds like cipsoft employees are fucking desperate for new members.
PACC? PACC YOU!
alright mate, why dont you calm down? the game is retro enough to be in this board, besides, i for one am one of the players that decided to go back to the game after being reminded by the thread that the game still exists since i last played it many years ago, why dont you just chill, hide the thread and fuck off?.
somehow unwrote trip and 2 lazy to rewrite, anyway bud we moved over to /vr/ because its a lot more relevant than /vg/, because this game is older than most of the shit posters here. I dont recommend new people to come here, this just exists to let them know that there is a community for them in 4chan. /vr/ also does not allow shit posting at all for the most part, a lot of the posts get deleted, so please just move on.
Hey 4chan janitors:
NOW Thats what I call shills.
You dipshits should know better
>because tuberculosis-tibia is older than most of the shit posters here.
May we know where are you basing those claims?
You can't just talk shit and claim things just because "you said so", you cipsoft employee.
>Still nothing more than shit posting
No wonder the guild hit the shitter
New proposals that have been forwarded:
Achievements For Ingame Mounts
Login With Backpacks Opened From Last Login
Make Some Items Sellable To NPC
New Djinn NPC
Remount after Transformation
Universal Depots etc.
all good except for universal depots
that proposal can fuck off
>all good except for universal depots
What do you not lilke about this? A lot of people do it already by abusing mailbox but that's a right fucking pain in the ass.
I like all but the ingame mount achis (though I don't care either way) and the new djinn NPC (just ask someone to sell your shit instead of waiting a month).
pretty interesting, with how mounting ties in with exhaustion, I could see how it'd be... interesting, I guess, to have it work after transformation break.
You could, I suppose, just have transformation be purely graphical and not actually dismount you.
Shit, there's a Tibia General? That is awesome news.
Hello everyone from Premia!
>only heavy k legs available which I can't even wear
>no legs or boots
>Achievements For Ingame Mounts
Well it'll encourage me to get the mounts I don't like. Although it'll also increase the price of tame items that already cost loads so that'll suck.
>Login With Backpacks Opened From Last Login
Do want. Would also be nice if public chat channels weren't nuked when the client is closed during login.
>Make Some Items Sellable To NPC
Some of those shouldn't be sellable (silver fafnar? holy shit it's bad enough how many rewards chars get for lighting one basin). Some already have decent market value. Some are fine. Some should be more useful (like fucking orac. pearls, why can't you just use them in temples to go to knightwatch tower? jesus).
>New Djinn NPC
The djinn loot split is fucking annoying and I don't want to bug people all the time.
>Remount after Transformation
Would be nice.
>Universal Depots etc.
Would also be nice. Plus it can't be good for returning players who left all their gear in a pacc town. I can't imagine how many returners buy pacc quickly just to get access to their shit and how many quit immediately because they can't hunt but in the long run having anyone quit again as soon as they return is worse than having any number buy pacc a little bit faster.
Anyone else get this shit? I haven't even disabled anything.
and Castle of the White Dragon
some do not properly take screenshots of specific games in full screen, also didnt work at all with older software. I always had to region capture while alt tabbed for those and even then those sometimes turned out black
Nigga, pyramids are the best.
tfw shit deco
Tfw didn't get infected and it still works
Also Fuuz, DB is fun, thunder one is fantastic on Akantor, literally feel like an ice-skater punching shit to death.
The starter island with 25/0% ambient lighting on a shitty brightness windows 95 was one of my fondest memories.
It became night in the small swamp, my torch burned out, and slowly the battle list populated by snakes, had to fight them off until morning, couldn't see more than the few tiles adjacent to me, but barely even that.
You know that proposals are only "forwarded" by linking them up on a huge wiki page that already contains a list of so many other improvements and suggestions, that the chance of one of these ever making it into the game is very near zero?
If as much work was put into actually improving the game as is put into leeching money out of the players, Tibia could've been in good shape today.
It's k for now but I'd accept a free house if you ever really want to escape. If you wanted to sell, ehhh I'm a cheapskate. It's the north one right? I've noticed I'm kinda working my way through owning every Tunnel Gardens house at one point, might be fun to live in 'em all...
plz no hate :(((((((((((((((((((((((
It's easy to be captain obvious now but it is true there's a lot that could have been done in the early days in regards to accessibility, player retention, quality of life and satisfying content that would have left Tibia in better shape today. To their credit you can see they've been trying even if they haven't always been successful.
Looking for someone to babysit me through the following on Fidera:
lizard temple in zao for muggy access
orc fortress then blue djinns tower
As alternative for the second, I need someone to exchange 5 pairs of BoH for enchanted wings for me
>chyllfroest news article implies bunny slippers quest
>way too obvious a prank
>unless it's a double bluff to catch savvy people out
It would be funny if they did go and just destroy bunny slippers value for the heck of it.
Just regular shit, just threw a few avas from off-screen.
Fuck me. Me and my family moved recently and our ISP will not change the location of our internet service until Monday at least. I'm stuck without internet for the whole weekend.
I guess I'll have to go out and spend time with friends
>hunting on this shitty double xp weekend
>guy with non-english name shows up and starts hunting
>report that his name is a racist slur in kurdish against muslims, and I am highly offended
>he goes offline 10 minutes later
A magic level gets you 5 damage on your SD. 5 levels gets you 1 damage on your SD. So a magic level is worth about 25 levels in 1:1 damage. How much do you value your money, more cap, more hp, larger mana pool, and faster movement speed?
>figure caves of the lost would be completely abandoned on this overpopulated double weekend
>go and start hunting
>respawn is so fast stuff starts backspawning
>get too many bashers and super drunk
>yo-yo between double digit health and full trying to drunkenly run out
>exura gran heals for within 10 of the minimum twice in a row while getting hammered on
Guess that's getting replaced.
double exp dank meme edition
>hunting completely alone
feels good man
exura gran used to top me off, and even the low end would fill more than half; I just kept using it but now it's like 30%. I replaced it with sio; so now on the low end it'll be 63% of my hp, dunno what I'm supposed to do in 200 levels when this happens again
good exp and fun in oramond blobs
surprisingly safe with terra amulets
you're better off dropping the 2 ml on your chest for a greenwood coat because its a massive safety increase, and on that note drop boh for terra booties too unless you runnin softs
16:47 You advanced from Level 222 to Level 223.
17:36 You advanced from Level 223 to Level 224.
gotta go fast
>tfw stuck in my office hours with this kid who doesn't get real options wasting my double xp time
I don't like decorating the lower level since nobody else can see it except for random shitters that get lost in the swamps and the other guy in the house next to you. I'd say make it convenient instead of pretty.
I can see the appeal of it, the house itself looks pretty good after the revamp of the city.
Well I decorate houses for myself, not for others. And the top 2 floors are really small compared to that one, as you can see.
That doesn't sound like Tibia. You can cut wheat and bake a few things but the only non-combat skill to level up is fishing and there's no reason to bake anything as the lightest and most fulfilling food is dirt cheap.
You can play the ingame market by reselling shit for profit to scratch that autistic itch. A lot of people would rather throw away tens of thousands of gold and make a fast sale than wait a few days. The rabbit hole is deep tho, becareful not to get lost in the darkness.
no it didn't. it's just some tard ranting. we had some bad times before then came back alive again later. this exact thing happened before, nothing to worry about. if people want the guild alive, they log on. if people want to do other things than tibia, then they do that. nothing stops anyone from being active in the guild except themselves.
I practically beg people to let me tank for them
its the cycle of Tibia. Fidera is in a "dead right now, back later" stage, but likely when we all have time off this summer or on breaks they'll all come back n level up n have all sorts of fun.
speaking of which I need to buy some prem in bulk oo momma
If you want quick cash, do the Desert Quest, get help to do the Blood Herb quest and sell it, and check out other Quests that can give good money (To Appease the Mighty, Sea of Light, etc)
If you want it while hunting then Tarantula task can be pretty good.
What world do you play in? I strongly suggest you get some help and do the Blood Herb quest. It sells for 10~20k
Also, it is NEVER a mistake to get promotion at level 20 as a mage.
you are probably describing Haven n Hearth (Hafen), I wonder if ther ever was a general for that shit
Pom here, I will nvr4get all y'all help to start me off, fuuz and videras friendshipss and sephi's swag. sadly no time here to play anymore dedicated tibia, too busy [chaserintensifying] in another weebMMO
Paladins (a misnamed Archer class) play basically the same without premium and you can buy the strongest ammunition sold exclusively by premium town NPCs directly from the player market since no items have any premium usage restrictions.
The main draws for upgrading to premium are new areas, new spells (most important for the two mage classes) and offline training. You're gonna see some cavebots around but premium won't escape them.
Don't even ask me why I hunt these guys. I just find them very exciting and all the products and stuff they drop is nice
I've had a hard time coming back and getting motivated, what with everyone from here being dead and stuff, and not having many people to play with. In my search for thrill and excitement I found The Lost. And they found me. And I am now very happy. Even if I have died in 2 out of 3 Lost hunts.
I tried hunting the lost during double xp weekend. The respawn was too fast and started backspawning on me leaving no room to move around. It was the closest to dying that I've ever not died.
>Wifey getting drilled by worms until she blacks out in a pool of blood
>deeplings and frosties busy this morning
>head to fenrock for the first time in ages
>kill faster than respawn can handle
>can't hunt here anymore
It's ursagrodon time
If you're in Fidera message me, I'm on Parivir.
>see lvl 90 hunting in okolnir
>keeps pulling all the frost dragons to the ramps because he runs out everywhere
>tell him there's a quest reward in this one room
>tell him I'll show him =3
How the hell am I supposed to get these gay ass horns sold when every fucker keeps undercutting by 1gp
