Fishing for replies edition.
Tibia is a fishing simulator with built in IRC and persistant MMORPG side game where you level up to fight bigger, nastier things between your ever important fishing expeditions. It was thrown into the ocean that is the internet in 1997. The bulk of /tbg/ occasionally logs in on two servers: Secura (located in Europe where we have the guild Yotsubas) and Fidera (located in North America where we have the guild Sengoku). Choose the server you have the best connection to and post your name & world in here for a guild invite or venture out on your own as a lone wanderer meeting new friends, foes and fish.

I dont really understand that logic as PvP has many botters itself. There is less punishment to die in PvP than no-pvp now thanks to twist of fate. If you enjoy PvE content you are better off on no-pvp as PvP is butchered to hell and back in its current state. Bots are prevalent in pre-level 120 zones, above that its mostly manual players, so the difference is very negligible anymore.
well yeah no-pvp is strictly PvE content minus consented wars (which dont happen like at all anymore). The biggest frustration to overcome is that basically any profitable pre-100 area tends to have bots. Its getting past that awful struggle that really makes the game decent. They did make it so premium pre-level 50's get a big bonus exp (on top of stamina bonus) so boosting to 50 is easy.
hi friends how are you reminder its sephi hello yes
I am currently stock piling up rares from Nerana to move to Fidera for massive massive $$.. already got a few on me, just waiting on someone to login to sell me something!!
1) how long do you expect it will take before reaching the break even point of beginning to get a return on investment in all the gp you spent?
2) how long do you expect it will take to sell all the rares?
3) in case the expected time is in the years / months range, why not just sit on the rares considering they most likely increase in price at a rate higher than the default coin inflation?
you raise good points, but this wasn't a business venture - this is a friends sorcerer hes given me which I was moving to fidera regardless, so I do not see the transfer cost equating to anything. it wouldn't take too long to sell the majority of it. the biggest thing is just how incredibly low it was bought for, so no matter what if I sold a SINGLE item from this batch I'll have paid for it all
todays haul on Nerana for profit jewing
approx profit: 17-20kk using averages, this is thanks to Fidera having a horrible price jacking issue with raid tokens. keeping the hangables, and hoping to pick up a cheap Nightmare Beacon soon
that's pretty cool man. I find leveling an EK frustrating these days unless i'm with a team
kill the whitey

divine justice is kill
if you want a guild pls join sengoku in the meanwhile
I miss Thimliy. Probably my favorite of the new guys, hasn't logged in in about 2-3 months now. I believe he was a professor or something so I suppose he's busy now that schools back
Reminder - Divine Justice has broken up, former members and anyone from here are automatically allowed into Sengoku
Should I do Fedora or Secura? I remember playing on both but the NA people moved to Fedora due to latency. I think im open minded to both but I'd hate to play one if its desolate in comparison.
north america if you're north american otherwise just slug through lag and go to secura, fidera is not as active right now but neither is secura. im back full time w/ my friends on fedora
Don't be fooled. Both worlds are equally dead.
Secura is however much more lively and active when it is active. Which will probably be now during the double exp period.
You should just play on Fedora if you live around NA.
There is a guild here named "Wanted" that is literally 50 level 300-600 players (Also Kharsek the level 907) that have bot and bought all of their characters. They lure on every service. Don't allow anyone to hunt Prison/Oramond DT's. It's insane, but we manage.
But my friend is a level 435 ED and we hunt late night when they aren't on. Make tons of experience and cash so it's all good to us. Interesting you are a rare trader, I never had the funds or patience to get into that. I just like to team hunt, only reason I still play Tibia. I have tons of money on Guild Wars 1 but no way to transfer it to gold in Tibia, especially on Calmera. Help me out haha
huge warning for all players on all worlds
people are starting to require teamspeak/other chat programs to do services, they're actually hacking
a huge amount of people got hacked from an inq service
probably over 20 300+ characters on fidera alone were stripped naked from this and other worlds are trying it now too
Me and a druid hunt the Darashia/Ankrahmun mini world change spawn of Choking fears+wretched horrors. It's usually open even during double experience weeks. If its taken we head east of Roshamuul depot. Since their loot got upped it's one of the best spots aside from Oramond/Prison
standard rates on umbral master are 20kk on most worlds, fidera/nerana are, so 15kk = 5kk profit minimum, more if its a spellbook, the biggest killer is getting thais museum items from raid tokens. I spent a meager 7.6kk on 4 of them and im expecting to triple that
I read about a guy on a pvp server who traded Dream Matters from server to server, and also some other rares. He made out with over 3kkk or some shit. Insane. I have about 10kk in my bank right now from team hunting, most I've ever had. I buy premium in-game with the gold from hunting so I don't spend any money on the game
there's a plugin or whatever that forces you to download something from the ts server once you join a specific channel
it's been around for atleast a half year now since that's when I started seeing reports of it on the Tibia forum
Sorry, but what's a Menera? Was that a new world?
I never botted, and all my friends were noobs, so I never got far. I did enjoy Tibia plenty by PK noobing, mostly in Solera and Shivera. We were so happy when we killed some level 60 shitter or whatever, lol.
Looked it up, came out mid 06. I think that was the last batch of new worlds, really. Back in 05-06 they were opening worlds like crazy, but the game stopped growing in 07, and population has only gone downhill since.
I saw a guy announcing (spamming in all caps multiple times in a 3 minutes time span) a PoI service in the advertisement channel of Magera. The message was something along the lines of "reply in the next five minutes or you can't get in".
It's pretty retarded tho, they just leave a bot in a teamspeak server that spams anyone who tries to join the server with a pop-up window. The window contains a link to IMPORTANT-TEAMSPEAK-UPDATE.EXE.
Anyone who installs this shit more than deserve to lose their shit. It's pretty misleading to say you've been hacked when you hacked yourself.
What if I ask nicely?
By the way, how much can I get in gold in Fidera for say, a 1 month premium scroll?
I wouldn't mind spending 20 bucks in getting back to the game. Premmy for myself wouldn't be enough, as mages are just a joke unfunded.
2 n a half levels in 2 hours noice could be faster but I kept messing up routes
A new outfit and mount were spotted in the game files a few days ago. I'm not too keen on the mount but the outfit is pretty neat. They're both in the wikias outfitter page listed as numbers until the names are revealed if you wanna see the mount with the bigass horns.
>play on shitty OT
>see a message about morgaroth spawning
Turns out bosses don't despawn after a few hours so any unkilled ones are going to result in crazy stacks.
>feel like getting back to tibia
>try to log at my ~50ish lvl account i don't play in a long time
>Account does not exist
>"Note that accounts may be deleted automatically if they have not been used for a long time."
Thanks Cipsoft. Now i just need to get all the way through Rookgaard again and spend many hours of my precious life to grindind!
Convince me to come back to this spooky game. What has changed in the past year for those who arent super high level? Are you guys still doing anything as a group on either server? Any huge mechanical changes? I love how its played, but I hate how everyone has the mentality that you need to be level 100+ to think about partying.
around the time of the market update (so 9.x and near the end of 2011) I made 15 lvl 8 characters solely for market jewing, the total time taken to get lvl 8 was always under an hour using an optimized route and not having to share the spawns (which happened to be rats and wolves only)
Managed to get 2500g on level 19 farming rotworms and shit. My equipment right now, what should i buy? Noble armor? I'm a sorcerer and a noob. Don't mind the necklace, it doesn't work anymore.
I guess you already went by now but yeah, they're just like cyclops.
Rook became emptier of people, respawns globally became faster and paccs get 50% more exp during their happy hours.
All characters, facc and pacc, under level 50 now receive bonus exp. It's on a downward curve so at level 49 it's down to 1% but it helps you get to the 20's and 30's faster.
Not too much. The low level content (or, well, everything below 80) is lacking in non-combat activities to do. You can do some daily tasks at the Outlaw camp for an extremely slim chance at a high priced taming item. No other daily tasks are worth doing because the rewards are too poor for the time it takes to do them (venore daily, goblin merchant, hellgate repenters).
There's a list of quests you can sort by level required/recommened or whether they're premium/free here: http://tibia.wikia.com/wiki/Quests
>thinking house prices have more than doubled in a year
top kek m8, buy more coins
Tibia was awesome back in the day. I tried getting into it about a month ago, but it looks completely different. I remember selling ropes in the bottom of a pit for ridiculously inflated prices.
I walk through the airport with kilos in my baaaag
yeah 3.5 mil an hour was really awful for two people haha! noob alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
put your money where your mouth is and post how much exp you get and where, preferably with video proof - you can check my twitch, I mouse over the xp a few times. I know I could theoretically get more at oramond west field but i'd rather hunt with a friend and make similar exp
Nigga that's a 2003 set. Nobody should use a plate armor anymore.
You should buy a scarf, a spirit cloak and a hat of the mad. Maybe crown helmet if you plan on sharing your set with another character or whatever.
I'm never leaving that island fuckers! I'll be staying here forever on level 1 killing cockroaches!
Wanted to make 10.000g selling meat. Not gonna happen, he doesn't let me trade anymore.
Can't even get back to kill roaches right now. I'll be living here as a hunter. I'll live with Zirella and kill rabbits and dears for a living.

the relevant factor is if you have or not a premium account because if you do you get free ridiculous amount of training
having a premium account and using only offline training of, say, sword:
60 sword skill - 5 days
70 sword skill - 2 weeks
80 sword skill - 1 month
a month maybe if you go to recommended places, give or take a few weeks? considering 2 daily hours with stamina exp bonus
maybe two or three months if you are completely new to the game and need to learn everything useful about it and take things slow
if you don't have p.a.:
work for an hour at mcdonald and buy one, otherwise you will just waste way too much time
>work for an hour at mcdonald and buy one
unless you live like in Venezuela where you would need one month or more worth of minimum wage to buy 30 days tibia premium time
before offline training I trained a knight in slimes at lvl 20 5 hours a day until skill 87/87 and it took around two months (got 80/80 in around 1 month), even if you are just afk most of the time it's just way too much trouble if you can afford premium time
with skill 80 you can do just fine in most low level leveling places
suppose you had 100 shielding skill instead of 80, you would just like save 20% money in potions and maybe one or two deaths until lvl 100, it's too small of a difference to worry about it
also if you are really a new player and you've played a game with an auction house like WoW or Diablo, you should feel obligated to jew the market for money, if you are getting loot in low level places you will spend like an hour to get 10k gold profit while you can get that same amount with 1 click at the market
He only trades once. You need to stack meat up on the floor, open the trade dialogue and then move some into your bag, sell, move, sell, etc and then toss it on the floor past the bridge because of the rape demon.
>each item buy/sell statistics for the last three months are publicly available
>people barely compete, much less manipulate the market
someone with a WoW market analyser bot variant would rake in millions
and then multiply that for each of some dozens of worlds
>people barely compete, much less manipulate the market
How? Have things changed? Last time I have tried to jew the market (around 1-2 years ago) there was strong competition and it was rather hard to make big profit, it required a lot of work (hauling to djinn or some other npc) and I was unable to make more than 20k a day
configure your movement keys in flash client or use autohotkey if you want that in standalone client (using autohotkey is perfectly safe, we have personally asked cip about that and they said its okay to use it to remap keys)
Ticker (http://www.tibia.com/news/?subtopic=newsarchive&id=3347): "Attention house owners! With the release of the winter update, all houses and guildhalls will be emptied due to a necessary technical change. All portable items will then be moved to your inbox. We are sorry about the inconvenience this may cause you."
They're only on the first teaser so there's weeks to go but I look forward to another bout of RSI from dragging furniture across the entire continent.
just watch the first two or so tutorials from this black gentleman https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD7E9DB3E8DBED76C
what you want to use are simple autohotkeys remaps, not hotstrings or scripts, or else you are probably doing the most obvious thing to get banned
What >>2719146 said, ditch the plate armor, get a spirit cloak/focus cape depending on your money.
Do goblin merchant quest, buy a stealth ring if you can't deal with the coryms.
Powerlevel until 30, then GFB runes, get someone to block you giant spiders and spam that shit, you'll have fun, also Spellbook of Enlightenment for that sweet extra ML.
I was just skimming through the thread and it sounded as though the NA server is relatively dead. Should I hop on Fidera anyways since I'll have a better connection or should I join the more populated European server as the expense of a better connection?
Also, I tried to look up a bit of info on Fidera to see if I could find how many active players were online and I saw something about the main language of that server being Portuguese. Is it infested with BRs or was that just a joke?
Maybe it's using Facebook or some shit.
You should be able to go to
Once you create an account you can log in there. Click Create Character towards the bottom of the page. You should get pic related, pick the world you wanted (Fidera or Secura probably).
Ah... Fuck, sorry. I'll link to the normal front page in future OPs instead of the first timers splash page that just asks for a character name/email and auto dumps you in any random server.
So I was reading through the FAQ in the OP and at one point it mentioned being able to leave at level 8 and advising you do so or you'll be gimped. Another section (and apparently a different tutorial island) mentioned the ability to reach level 20 on that island and didn't say anything about being gimped.
Should one leave as soon as they hit 8, or is it okay to grind on the tutorial island some?
Alright thanks I'll be sure to put in a little extra grinding then.
It'll also give me a bit more time to decide between Knight and Paladin. I've been looking things up on both and they both sound nice so I'm stuck on the fence at the moment.
Used to be back on Rookgaard you needed to change at level 8 since you were vocationless. Now on the new tutorial island you are given your vocation while there, thus you can level as much as you want since you wont miss out on the extra HP/SP. Though you'll only reasonably get to 15-20 there.
What's the significance of only soloing? I assume you miss out on being able to kill things that require groups, but what else? How often do you find groups anyways? I'm not familiar with the game but even still it seems as though only having ~300 players at a time on a server means you might not be grouping all that often anyways. Though I guess it also doesn't mean that knight is unable to solo.
Paladin was fantastic in 'old' Tibia. Soloing was the best way back then. He had cheap dmg, selfsustain and what not.
Nowaday it's all about AoE and exp sharing. Paladin lacks AoE damage. Sure, if you are playing with friends, they won't mind you being pala
they might bully you sometimes though, but knight would've been more welcome than paladin in party.
That said, to the person who was asking. make both and if you plan on getting PACC make druid/sorc as well. Put everyone on offline training.
If you are fan of kiting, you will find paladin better than knight.
I think people start grouping at around 80-100.
because the argument is about pallies getting into team hunts which on fidera we are always looking for 1, I dont know what its like on secura or wherever but here 3-4 voc is important having a pally around
I mean if no one wants to invalidate the claims then so be it, call it shitposting. Yotsubas does not branch out and hunt with others so of course a closed off community of 1-3 active players would say theres never anyone wanting them to hunt with them, you have to actually branch out for hunting..
in regards to aoe damage, sharp shooter+san+ava is far more than acceptable especially when most hunting grounds are designed to mix resistances to make sure everyone is useful in some way now
Well, to try them, but more importantly as PACC you get 'offline training' function. Even if you wont play them, but just relog they will eventually gain skills.
Outside of levels, there are also skills: fist, sword, club, axe, distance, magic, that affect your dmg and success rate. You want them at some decent level to not get frustrated all the time. Of course you cantrain them while online (it's even faster), but if you arent sure what to play I reccomend just leaving them overnight and then try them out.
a lot of people make all 4 vocations, get them to main and let them offline train with premium accounts, that way if you ever decide to swap you have very high skilled alternate characters who won't have issues leveling at any point
>dragging a torch in caves because one handed weapons were horrible
That was scary as fuck
Couldnt you have torches in ammunition slot? Unless you were pala that is...
I'd still give it try. I'd even say up to lv50 it will be enjoyable, but then it will start getting worse and worse pretty fast. You will be cut out from most of content, far better hunt spots and some spells, that will be pretty much mandatory.
If you are dedicated/autistic enough, you will eventuablly be able to fight with bots over GS spawns on POH and with 'just' like 200 rare drops you will be able to afford premium time for ingame gold.
More-or-less. On a good server WZs should only take 20-40m, so that "investment" a day should get you endless premium.
That being said, yes, you could just work an hour at a job (or a few depending on how shit your wages/exchange rates are) and pay for a month of premium.
I still remember that I have spent most of my old tibia days in party mode. I was in party mode from like lvl 12+ even tough there were no exp sharing (though I got most exp as paly and my knight friend got most loot, we both decided it was okay this way). Somehow nowdays going in party at this lvls kinda sucks for some reason.
they know that players are mad about all these TC updates lately, so they'll pander to the loud annoying masses by implementing some bullshit proposals
just a shit sandwich
this way the annoying kids will be too happy to see the shit they're being served
Players see and will always see the shit they are being served, there is just enough offset from the ok things for us not to abandon this sinking ship. Though lately they went kinda overboard with the shit... I really hope they are going to make something good now
I've never seen or heard of this game before, but I like the way it looks.
I'm curious - did any of you play the Nexon game Dark Ages in the late 90s and early 2000s? It has a somewhat similar look to it. The US version transferred to KRU and it pretty much went to shit, but I played the korean one and it's still packed amazingly enough.
Pic related (stone client was late 90s I think)
Oh sorry by
>I've never seen or heard of this game before, but I like the way it looks
I was referring to Tibia.
Also I played NexusTK but I definitely had a softer spot for DA. Pic related is NexusTK
I play on Antica and I am new to the game, I bought premium and got level 62. I am a Master Sorcerer. I only got about 20 k and a very shitty equipment, mages are expensive as hell. Anyone on Antica can help me out? Thanks in advance!
try to do tasks if you can, very easy cash if you can stand the grind. try to hunt areas with reliable income, not just chancing it on rares. you're not far off from doing water elementals so keep at it.
do I start hunting again on my old pally...........
what are you doing in the meantime friends
no, there was a raid ban due to a recent update
we went out to pvp and went close to some villages which we got banned for
apparently there wasn't just a raid ban but a "get in chat range of any village and you'll get banned" ban
[04:55:24] Zombify slain by Glasse Worksock Nahjo
atleast we got a kill
Also is yotsubas kill? I try to login a few times every day but nobody is ever online
hunt ancient scarabs, they are very easy for a mage this level and you will always get profit or at least break even if very shitty drop (you will have to loot coins though), during longer hunts i suggest making lootbags with plate armors
>Also is yotsubas kill? I try to login a few times every day but nobody is ever online
Yeah its pretty much kill, most I see is 2 people online including myself, lately somehow I have even managed to do teamhunt with one of our membes, fun was had
More like they were the only good weapon for mages then. Staves were decoration and melee weapons were well, useless.
And hot damn, mages were strong back then. Some of the highest levels got to do over 1k UE damage before they changed the magic formula to not scale with level much anymore.
yeah any mage above lvl 100 was broken back then, kinda sucks that the change kind of fucked other chars too (pala SD, knight UH), wish they found out other way for that change instead of making UH useless and pretty much removing SD from pala
Guys this is serious
I bought a Premium Account for the first time but I have no idea what to do, all this time I've been playing FACC and only now I realized I know absolutely nothing about the Premium cities. What should I do please help
do the quest In Service of Yalahar, until you can use the boat to there from somewhere, then hunt around there, or hunt in ankrahmun tombs (wiki them), others will likely tell u what else to do
Level, voc, world? The "Killing in the name of..." quests are fairly good for all levels although there are some vocation/task combinations that would be lengthy and/or wasteful to complete.
You can often buy things cheaper from the market than they sell for with some patience. Buy low, sell high, make profit.
If you're low level and/or dirt poor go Port Hope Swamp Trolls for a bit and sell medicine pouches. There's a hole near the last building on the right side of town (north side of river) that goes to swamp trolls.
Donkey, Horse and Panda are cheap/easy mounts to obtain. Lion too if you can get an escort for the area or are high enough level to deal with tons of enemies that hit for 200s (some RNG involved too but can be re-attempted each 24 hours).
e.g. buy afflicted outfit parts for 200gp, sell them for 1-5k each or buy creature products for less than they sell to NPC. If you just need some new equipment put up a buy offer and wait overnight rather than paying the higher sell offer. The more common the drop the more transactions there'll be but the less common it is the longer you may need to wait for a buyer/seller.
Watch out for people fucking with the market prices (check details for recent sales stats) and some items can have heavy competition (constant undercutting) which can be frustrating. The more money you get the larger your profit margins can be (get 200k and you can make 30-50k reselling secret service tools).
Always tick the anonymous box when putting up offers. There's no community in the market, just merciless business moguls.
Download Tibiacast and watch the level 400+ players hunt Oramond Dt's/Roshamuul Prison. Druid and Sorcerer go into Energy bombs, while Knight and Paladin block 8x creatures each. Or Druids/Sorcerers use Mwalls/Wild Growths up against a wall and the Ek/Rp do the same thing in front of them. People make 3-6kk/h experience hunting this way. I'm a level 316 knight and I make around 2 to 3kk/h at my level doing it. 4 vocations = 100% more experience. 60% for 3, 40% for 2.
I suggest getting a Mage and Knight to level 8 to offline at the same time, no harm done in having multiple high skilled characters. My level 224 paladin is skills 124/106 with equipment because I let him train for over a year while I leveled my knight.
But for your question: Hunt Larva and Scarabs until about level 13-15. Buy stealth rings and go to Mistrock Cyclops or Cyclopolis. Once you're comfy enough hunt Dragons anywhere. Once you hit level 50 task Mutated Tigers/Mutated Rats/Ancient Scarabs. At level 70 you receive Drill Bolts which hit immensely for that level. Level on Wyrms/Lizard High Guards/Chosens with fire walls. At 80 you get new tasks. 90 you receive crystalline arrows and prismatic bolts. Use crystal crossbow+prismatic bolts until 105, then buy Mycological Bow and use arrows. (If you have cash just use Warsinger+Crystallines at 90).
By 100 you should get access to Formgar Mines. Have someone help you gain all 3 Lever papers so you can traverse easier. You can hunt cults/nightmares/scions on a spawn north east of the 2nd floor. On the bottom floor you can kill nightmares/destroyers with fire walls/cults. South west on that floor is stairs that go up to a spawn of cults/crystal spiders/destroyers aswell. Downstairs of that is a spawn where you can task Destroyers once you're level 130. I killed about 12-14 per lap there. Lower Banuta and Ghastly dragons is also a good place once you're 130 and tasking

New teaser is up on the main website... new high level poi/inq inbound my nigs
Oct 05 2015, 06:29:56 CEST Bot/Macro Report Haze Vindicious processed
Character Haze Vindicious does not exist.
Oct 05 2015, 06:29:45 CEST Bot/Macro Report Ceda Micia processed
Character Ceda Micia does not exist.
my only 2 bot reports got deleted... what the hell?
So new teaser is up focusing on some Quality of Life improvements for the coming update:
The wait timer for skinning/dusting will be removed, just as devanon said some time ago the skinned corpse will lose it's loot protection immediately so loot first, skin second.
Global depot is coming. You'll be able to access each of the 17 depot lockers from any depot. Overall item storage limits are going down (1000 items per depot for facc to 2000 globally and 2000 items per depot for pacc to 10,000 globally) but with infinite mailbox space its arbitrary anyway.
And finally server transfer item limits are being removed and with no limits and the global depot there is no need to move items to the transfer island of Travora's depot. Since the only part of the island that will still be required is the dock to log out on during transfers they're sinking the island.
I can get the money but I barely log on these days, I don't really want to give jewsoft even more gold that I won't even be using… I'd have to think about it… Honestly what matters to me is that the fucking graveyard deco abomination is gone, I don't really care who owns the house in the end
I've never even done it once. Holy shit.
Have old picture from right after I transferred to Secura.
I know that Saber play(ed) there, donno what she's doing now-a-days.
again, shitty image dumps.
found my old zipped Tibia folder from other hard drive.
>You will never know the joys of old Tibia where the biggest challenge was to find an unoccupied hunting spot.
Imo I'd not play this game without prems. I did for several years back in the day, but meh.
Here's a shitty Gaz run that never happened.
And here is us doing one of the Quara bosses, or at least waiting to do so.
We were about to go in, Boss does a ton of mana drain so I decided to be better safe than sorry.
I had not done it before, given my tendency to let myself die by squeezing every ounce out of my mana, I decided to be "smart",
i.e. a little bitch.
I just got back into tibia after a 3 year break, and ppl keep spreading this myth that free account mages somehow can't progress to the same extent that knights and pallies can.
Umm, did everybody in tibia forget how mages use to progress back in the day? They had to burn hours creating runes just so they could hunt for 40 minutes are so. Today's FACC mages are way better off than mages back than. I honestly don't see why a FACC sorc couldn't level up to 70-80.
Sure compared to the earliest days they suck less now, but low to mid level knights and paladins (20-50) mostly play the same regardless of premium status while free mages are gimped by a lack of basic instant spells and slow soul point regeneration.
some guy found this teaser
dunno if it's real
would be great if it was
