Happy master system day!
"From today's featured article
The Master System is a third-generation home video game console from Sega, released in the late 1980s..."
Master system thread / pre genesis sega general. Z80 based console general? PAL region thriving consoles general?
does brazil keep making games for it? Are they all just so absolutely shitty no one bothers to talk about 'em? It seems like if there had been a 25 years game industry there there might be a few gems.

I'm never comfortable calling almost-exact-copy-but-slightly-superior games "better" than the originals

Can we just get some kind of board bot to automatically detect Master System threads and post WBIII stuff in them? It's not as if there's any competition for GOAT on the system
It's pretty funny when you look at contemporary reviews for Golden Axe Warrior. It got scores like 40% and was labelled a "tedious, boring RPG" and "nothing like the action-packed coin-op conversion".
I actually would much rather play Golden Axe Warrior than Golden Axe. Beat 'em Ups with no multiplayer function (as in the Master System conversion) are far more tedious and boring than Golden Axe Warrior.
What would you peoples say is the best MS-exclusive game? I'd go for the first Astérix, since Golden Axe Warrior, awesome as it is, is a borderline port.
That's missing Krusty's Fun House; great game, and very solid port
Used to love the Ghouls 'n Ghosts port; it's almost a whole different game with all the gameplay tweaks
It did here indeed. One of the reasons is that the output was native RGB which matched all TV sets - the NES, which was only composite, simply looked like ass in comparison to it. At the time Sonic 1 SMS and Outrun were catchy as fuck, beautiful to look at, played well, and were serious system sellers.
