Rice is love, rice is life~
Old thread: >>1761165
>How do I rice?
Okay. I've got my colors and all that other crap done. This is my finished dark theme.
r8 me m8's
i have a new love for dark themes
haha nothing about your desktop is original, everything is from or a clone of noha's. /w/ in a nutshell
New firefox css as I started using treestyledtabs.
Anyone know how to get rid leftside area of blackbox bar?
I suggest you read the hydrogen audio forums and wiki for help and documentation on how to set panels with columns ui properly. Additionally, the intro in http://pastebin.com/QbGNnzsZ
the wallpaper kinda overshadows the noha-scity of the desktop; cute af
nice as usual
something is wrong but it'd be p good if you patched up some of the little things
how much is 1069702
As an aside, does anyone else here use appchan? I've been getting some wicked artifacting from hover enlarge/hover replies for a couple months now and it's starting to piss me off. Just random black, rectangular slivers that appear around images/replies and usually stick around until I either move the mouse of scroll and occasionally even after that
Anyone know any guide or reference about native compilation of mpc+ncmpcpp on windows?
I tried these two guide:
The links on ahoka's script is outdated and binary from the second link is not working with newest cygwin
Any help would be appreciated
Apart from the font, I really love this.
These look really good.
Don't like those colors, or that the window and selected tab match the background.
If that is a fat cat behind you I'm very jealous.
I liked your darker setups more.
Same as above about the background matching, also change the colors/fonts from bb_crim.
What >>1765325 said, also don't just copy paste things from nanami.
i made some modifications how about now?
really like how the windows match with the background and it isn't even difficult to use it
It's been quite some time, /wg/.
This is just something I threw together this morning. Still a lot to add and revise to finalize.
It's W7 + Litestep (shell replacer), if anyone was going to ask.
Are all the cool kids playing FFXIV now?
that's on imageress.dll or imagesp.dll i can't remember
It depend on icon pack you use wether they include live folder icon or not
Don't rely on 7tsp or iPack try to playing around with resourcehacker and you will find out
The icon set I used came compiled into its own installer package. I don't know specifically what .dlls it altered to get the live folders to work correctly but I imagine it wouldn't be terribly difficult to find out from some digging on eightforums. If that fails you could just go full trial and error mode with a resource editor.
OMN IconPack by alexgal23 on dA.
mizuki a cute guy tho
Hey Kuro, what music player were you using again in this pic?
1million gil is not much, but I dont craft/sell actively. I gather for my FC, and profits are divided.
That is indeed a fatcat.
I've been playing for about a year now after pestering from some other friends, and can say its really comfy to play with 8 close friends.
The great thing about foobar is that it can be completely standalone from your visual style, aside from the window decorations which even then you can remove. It's not an issue of the visual style. Check the padding in your splitter settings...
Finished all the basics of my WM. Also changed up my colours again.
SHIT [So, Honestly It's Terrible] can be changed to terrific once it get's good
Struct (might work, not so sure about this one)
Hey /w/, how do I remove the light grey lines between the tabs, address bar and site? It's a lightly modified version of Tinycss (I'd pastebin my mods if Pastebin was working for me.)
Go to chrome://browser/content/browser.xul.
Right click and Inspect the element.
Adjust the CSS to your liking.
I don't know how compatible it is with Windows 8. You would have to try and see.
So it is for the cool kids...!
I used to play TERA, too.
I would honestly tell you at first figure out how to get it running on W8. It should be compatible, but like I said before I don't really know. Modules come into play and are often provided with the themes your download. If not, it'll download the modules for you.
> With 8 close friends
I have some who play, but I don't know them that well. I'll think about it. I've been looking at getting back into Black Desert OBT in KR. Still playing Blade and Soul China.
I miss you.
Reminds me of one of my older desktops, only this one is better.
>I tried to pay homage to your old desktop
>I still think yours is better
I feel the opposite!
Has it only been a few months? It feels like it's been half a year or more since I've actually made some new since my last desktop, Genki.
I've been well and my New Year has been pretty good so far. Just working and going to school. How have you been?
Yeah, just a few lol. It does feel like that sometimes though. Glad to hear everything has been going smooth for you so far. I've been good enough to not complain.
I see, I see. That's good. Seems like you've been watching a lot of movies
Yeah, whenever I find time to. Lately, they've just been sitting there though.
Lewd, but what is that you are currently watching? I've thought about watching some GitS movies, but I've just been too busy doing other things
It's a gif of Maken-Ki. The only good parts are the fanservice. And a GitS marathon sounds pretty cool, I haven't seen any of them for a few years now... And now that I think about it, The Walking Dead aired today, I have to watch that tonight.
I started the manga for Maken-ki, at least I am sure I did. Didn't get very far, though. I'll probably just stick to that rather than the anime.
I have to watch today's and last week's episode of the Walking Dead.
So much to watch, read and play.
I did a fresh install of Windows on my laptop and I forgot how to remove the title on BlackBox menus. I'm referring to the "BBlean" or whatever that's on top of the menu that appears when you right click the desktop. I just changed the font to "blank.ttf" for now and it removes the text, however the gap is still there. Any help?
I come here sometimes to take a break from studying.
my fonts look a little weird especially on the bb_bar
anyone know where the address bar/search box border is located in windows style builder?
Super bored, so here have another scrot.
Still need some work, what do you think so far?
I can't believe you're still reading that book.
BTW is that a pdf reader?
i have a question
i just starting ricing for first time and whatever, and everything is ok except that when i right-click in the firefox window, my entire monitor goes black. i can exit by pressing any button or rightclicking again in a thin line showing my desktop in the bottom
i have no clue why it does this at all. my friend isn't having this issue and he's using the same firefox css and the same ahk
anyone willing to try and help me out? would be appreciated
I mentioned this a little while back. I've been working on a nanam-tan.info like guide for linux. It's not meant to be a be all end all of how to use linux, more so just a hub for basic knowledge. I've been really busy lately though so I have not gotten to work on it muck. Here is what I've finished so far though.
I guess you should also, apart from extending the current section, also include stuff like: file manager, mpd, vim, irc, as well as the complete guide on how to instal gentoo.
How the fuck do i get rid of this black bar in my firefox? Someone please help me
also, >Currently there are no concise and useful guides for ricing linux.
This has been around for a very, very long time: https://sites.google.com/site/lazyboxx/desktops/ricing-openbox
It is both concise and useful.
which also points to https://urukrama.wordpress.com/openbox-guide/ which sources a TON of essential resources, which even though the page is old as shit majority of these sources are still up to date.
So consider sourcing these as well. I will also note, OSX users should google "jethric osx".
Wondering if anyone can help me figure some stuff out. I wanted to change the shape of my tabs in my bblean bar and firefox so that they are trapezoidal, in order to match the edges of my bblean bar. So the selected tabs would still appear to be cut out of the window, but the edges would be diagonal.
Oh, I definitely will. I never saw any of those when I started ricing linux. The only resources I ever found were arch wiki and dotshare. Thanks.
Not sure why your getting untrusted connection. I'm using Squarespace for hosting (my friend got an account and then never used it so I stole it).
I reinstalled nightly and now mactype is shitting itself. It used to work with direct2d and hardware acceleration enabled, but will now only work with one (or both) of them disabled. Windows, obv; has anyone else experienced this? I don't have a problem leaving direct2d disabled since I don't really have much of a use for it, but would rather know a solution that just stick a bandaid on it.
Rice is love <3
My waifu is life
I spend 2 years ricin' my win to this beauty
It's practical since my second monitor is only really used when watching something, gaming or when I'm doing something productive, so when not doing those things, I can have my music player there.
When I need to use my entire monitor, I can dock my music player to the side where it hides automatically when not active. When I need to bring it up again, I just hover to the side where the player is and click the arrow that pops up to bring the player back into view.
I see what you're trying to do and I like it, lots. Having said that, that ugly pigsblood red in the taskbar is just...ugh. Fix up your fonts and you'll have a really nice looking setup, especially with that wallpaper. Optionally, add some more accents to complement the wallpaper - a desat pink would be nice behind the clock.
I have 3 screens but nothing is really on the 3rd, so I'm only posting the main 2.
nice fonts, would use. I think your borders should be more opaque though.
When people post images here of just an image on their desktop, is it supposed to be a slideshow of images? I was hoping to get something like that for Windows, but I can only imagine it as a rainmeter skin.
Most of them are just some kind of basic image viewer...some with slideshow functionality, some without. A lot are probably just static images of waifus/whatever brought up solely for taking a scrot
Fresh rice. I started using Twily's firefox css and it looks great. Also changed my colors; it's now a mixed of solarized and tomorrow light.
I actually used a different method. The Left and right corners are actually Rainmeter skins. The left one is my launcher (I can click the text and then input a command) and the right one is just a simple clock script. I made an image in the shape of the triangle and set it as the background for the Rainmeter skins. I then just centered the bblean bar and made it 78% width.
>>1766930 Small update
i changed some minor things, but i can't be arsed to to more right now since it's my birthday. goodnight /w/
I really need to switch from Windows soon.
So glad I requested this Gou minimalist wallpaper in another thread. It's my love and life.
They said similar things about the wallpaper in the other thread, but I can't do a better job so I'm not complaining.
The player is my own personal taste, a very lame Winamp skin. It's certainly not for show but all I ever fucking play is Vocaloid shit so it suited.
When it comes to wallpeprs, I'm either minimalist or busy, like this one. Chicks just sitting in rooms is sort of my thing.
My "I didn't make anything I use" desktop.
Is there any way to change the image of the download button, like how the menu button is changed?
Just tried all that I could find.. Using what both >>1765641 and >>1765643 said and the closest I got was when I restarted Firefox it would be the custom picture, but if you clicked on it it would change back. I even changed the original Toolbar.png and Toolbar.-inverted.png files to have the custom icon.
Looks good. I think your colors would look nicer if you changed the darker red color to something more soothing. I'm also still surprised that so many people use my homepage. Does the animation work for you?
Are you also using the Rainmeter theme switcher / textbased launcher I came up with or the improved version Phiat made? I see 'earth' in the corner of your screen and I thought that might be what it is.
Yeah I once had a character on my wallpaper and I made my foobar colors match hers. Not sure what they should be now. And I like it a lot, the animations work and are really nice.
No, I'm not sure what those are. That's the workspace title/switcher thing with bbleanbar.
Explorer is a pain in the ass.
Still can't figure out how to change the main explorer color from white, nor can I figure out how to hide the adress bar or at-least change the font color.
Nah, I've already messed up too much ricing here. I'd need a clear system before attempting to install Deshou again. Since the creator it's no longer active, and an update containing a way more easy installation will not likely come, I'll wait until I clean my system again.
It would be awesome to figure out how to change the font background color on titlebars, but I have a feeling it won't be easy to find; I remember there was a similar problem when I tried to use windows 8 themes on 8.1
I'm shit new to this, how can I fix this font in firefox?
