I got this book a couple years ago called Physics Demystified out of my own personal interest, and I've been stuck on these two questions in the first chapter since then. I've read the chapter over and over and still can't seem to understand the answers because the chapter doesn't really touch on what the questions are asking so I'm clueless.
The answers are in the back of the book, and even with the answers, I still don't get it.
The questions are,
>Suppose that you measure a quantity, call it q, and get 1.5 x 10^4...

Basically, no measurement of physical quantity can be entirely accurate. So when you measure a quantity and report a figure, you also imply an error in measurement from the number of meaningful digits.
The reason the estimated error is different(has less room for error that is) in the second example is because the equation has more significant digits(1,50 has three significant digits while 1,5 only has two). The first example has an implied uncertainty of 0,1 because you do not know any more decimals than the reported 1,5, while the uncertainty of 1,50 is 0,01.
The text is a little misleading.
>Suppose that you measure a quantity, call it q, and get 1.5 x 10^4 units.
The use of "you" can be misunderstood, since it could mean that the result is exact, that the exact result is known by "you" but it was rounded, that the margin of error is known since "you" measured it and so on.
Assume that you used an instrument or an extern laboratory and it gave the result 1.5 x 10^4 units. You know nothing more than...

I got Photoshop.
You want something Photoshopped?
Send it in.
(Image is unrelated)
Hai, can you put some transparent layer of cartoony flame on this quote? Make it rad as you posibly can mister, kinda lazy to put photoshop on now.
I need a 720x1280 image to put into my friend's phone, so he'll see it whenever it boots. What do you guys suggest?
Just got done downloading 1.11TB of Manga, and I'm looking for recommendations of what to read. As long as its name doesn't start with a letter from H to N, I probably have it. In exchange, I'll post the magnet links.
Who is this?
I'm looking for a new anime to binge watch, something the like of Fullmetal Alchemist and FMA Brotherhood. Good characters, interesting worlds, maybe a few twists here and there. Stuff like that
Protip: Don't try to find anything that will top FMAB. You can't. It's pretty much the best its genre/demographic has to offer.
Try to branch out to different genres, it's the only way to find something better.
Steins;Gate, Death Note, Gurren Lagann Code Geass - go for something like that.
I recently replaced the fan in my laptop and now when I turn it on it shows error code 3F0 which pretty much means there's no OS.
To replace the fan I had to remove my hard drive, could that have damaged it?
What should I do?
>it shows error code 3F0 which pretty much means there's no OS
Does the laptop a) not detect a hard drive at all, b) detect a hard drive but can't read it?
>To replace the fan I had to remove my hard drive, could that have damaged it?
The first step would probably be to check the drive/connectors/motherboard for obvious damage like scratches or warping
I did a memory test on the hard drive and it passed so I believe it is detecting the hard drive.
I tried removing and installing the hard drive twice and did not see any noticeable damage.
I've got a Hypothetical question for people who are good computers and operating systems. Say a friend acquired a gaming PC but it doesn't have an OS on it. I still have my windows 7 disk but upgraded to windows 10. Can I let him use my windows 7 disk and key for his PC since I have windows 10?
I'd guess no, because the key you've got is still in use, you're just using it for a different OS
here's a solution
>study/have a friend study anything computer-related in an university
>school most likely uses some version of microsoft dreamspark
>register into dreamspark and verify student status
>obtain unlimited supply of keys for microsoft products (office, windows, windows server, etc)
>unlimited supply of keys
Dreamspark usually gives you access to 1 key per product though, so you could only give one windows 7, one windows 8, one windows 8.1 etc.
Theorically, you can. When upgrading to windows 10, you get a windows 10 license, so your windows 7 license is probably unused right now. Practically, I don't know, I never tried it.

I have a deadline for a 5 minute animation video with sound due by tomorrow morning. I'm pretty fucked although I don't know exactly how fucked I am because I've not really worked that much with edge animate but I want to at least get a 50% if possible. (meaning I want to turn 'something' in)
Any and all help on how to get everything done by tonight would be very much appreciated.
Hey /wsr/, I'm a broke college student. Does anybody know any reliable websites which I can use to "find" my books, free of charge?
PS: Here's a picture of a koala, to help repay your kindness
