>In May, it was believed that 85,000 Saiga antelope died in just one day, quickly followed by another bout of deaths, estimated to be around 60,000. However, the total figure is now looking to be at least 211,000 – 88 percent of the antelopes in the Betpak-dala desert of Kazakhstan, and around 70 percent of the total population of this already endangered species.
What could it be? Goatmen? Rapture? Aliens? Fucking Alf coming back for his bastard offspring?
Truly epic natural plague, or a species-specific biological weapon being tested. Or something else. Mass extinctions are a fact of life and have happened all throughout history. That doesn't mean they've always been normal, though. This could still be a paranormal incident.
Mass extinctions aren't uncommon in herd animals, or aren't surprising really. They all eat and shit in the same area for seasons at a time. All it takes is a few catching some bacteria and living long enough to shit it out amongst their shared food source to infect the entirety of the herd. Whomever survives and goes on to breed will be more genetically fit than all of those who died. Then the herd rebuilds.
It probably meant they were overpopulated in the first place, now the grasslands they feed on will have time to replenish
Same goes 4 ur mum
Mass extinction decreases the gene pool.
To repopulate and reproduce incest is more likely to happen wich decreases the genetic variation and makes the whole species weaker then before.
Biological weapon by humans, alien stuff less likely, possibly a black magic sacrifice for something bigger and more insidious
we're stronger in terms of resistance AGAINST black plague but since our genetic variety has decreased we have to increase it again because once the next big killer disease rolls around if our genetic variety is too narrow it'll just kill us easier
In recent weeks, tons of rainforest in Indonesia are also decimated. Not only they burnt the farm areas, they intentionally included the forests.
There is a concerted effort to make global warming appear very "true" and "natural".
Could just be those animals overgrazing on a species of plant that's getting wise to their crap.
Plants usually win; they like to play the really loooooooong game.
